2 Polls: Opposition To Syrian Strike Nearly 2 To 1

From the Politico:

Poll: Obama needs to make Syria case

By LUCY MCCALMONT | September 3, 2013

In addition to strong opposition across party lines over intervention in Syria, President Barack Obama still has a long way to go convincing the American public, according to a new poll out Tuesday.

Only 32 percent of Americans say Obama has explained clearly why the U.S. should launch military strikes against Syria, the Pew Research survey shows.

We wish those 32% could explain it to us.

Obama’s lack of persuasion to the American public has been a growing point of criticism as lawmakers from both sides have called on the President to make the case for intervention to the public…

His "lack of persuasion… has been a growing point of criticism"? Not his half-baked decisions? Not his rush to war because he might otherwise be ‘embarrassed.’

A Washington Post-ABC News poll also released Tuesday found that just 36 percent of Americans support military strikes in Syria, while 59 percent oppose U.S. action. The survey also found that just 27 percent of adults support the U.S. and allies supplying weapons to the Syrian rebels, with 70 percent opposed.

Overall, more Americans oppose than support conducting military strikes according to the Pew survey, 48 percent to 29 percent who favor them. This is a reversal from a previous poll from Pew in April that found in a “45 percent to 31 percent margin, more Americans favor than oppose the U.S. and its allies taking military action against Syria” if it was found that chemical weapons were used.

Mr. Obama and his ‘brain trust’ seem to be persuading people in the wrong direction.

Additionally, a majority of those surveyed in the most recent poll are skeptical that missile strikes will be a [sic] an isolated strategy as 61 percent “think it would be likely to lead to a long-term U.S. military commitment there.”

There is also a lack of confidence in the overall impact strikes will have to deter the use of chemical weapons with only 33 percent saying that air strikes are likely to be effective in discouraging the use of chemical weapons…

What nonsense. Have we forgotten how the Israelis’ air strike on Syria’s nuclear plant has stopped the regime from even thinking of ever pursuing yet alone using weapons of mass destruction again?

  1. 2 to 1?

Drudge Report poll was about 9% for
out of some 700,000 responses. In my
    home it’s 0% for.

I’m in favor of Obama ordering drone strikes on the White House so long as he’s inside it at the time. I can think of no long-term unintended consequences to that strategy.

  4. Of those 3 people, the one who says “yes” is the one who is incapable of finding Syria on a map… of Syria.

    Ohgodohgodohgodohgod—–first black president failing/flailing!

    A-HOOOOOOGAH—–!

[click]Attention on deck, attention on deck….all personnel will hereby pronounce president 0bama to be tops, keeno-neato, king of everything immediately. That is all. [click]

The utter ways that the media covers for this twit are remarkable. And they violate even a third-grader’s limits on telling whoppers.

However, president anti-war’s mouth has written checks his a$$ cannot cash. And, everyone must run cover for his big, fat, stupid mouth. But why “must”. It certainly seems that McCain’t and Limpsey Grahamnesty sure feel that El Guapo is certainly right. Boy, if ever there was a “stupid” barometer….there they are.

And here we are…about to embark on the SS Rerun. Seen this picture. Decided to see it again to make sure we hated it the first time, so it would seem. 75,000 troops needed to secure WMD caches. And where are THEY gonna come from?

Your stash? Do they get a free phone and EBT card widdit? Or is this just the preamble to reinstating the draft so your desires will be met? Thank God, and I never thought I’d say this, that my kid is a diabetic and not able to serve in the military.

Well…maybe someday, the really fun part will be rebuilding this nation after all the idjits and morons and retards in our government are finally disposed of in the political sense, barred from ever holding public office. Or even dog-catcher.

Every dumb cartoon character has walked through my mind when I ponder how these people…uh….”think”.

So long U S of A…was nice knowin’ ya. Thank you for all you gave me. You will be missed.
