5 Previously Undetected Greenhouse Gases Found

From an unfazed AccuWeather:

Researchers Find Five Previously Undetected Greenhouse Gases

By Mark Leberfinger | March 30, 2014

Two new scientific research efforts have uncovered five new man-made greenhouse gases that may play a role in climate change and ozone depletion.

Increasing greenhouse gases trap additional heat in the lower atmosphere, which results in higher surface temperatures, AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson said.

"Climate models certainly account for the increase in greenhouse gases," Anderson said. "The increase in greenhouse gases may be causing more extremes in global weather over the long term, such as heat waves, drought and heavy precipitation events. However, it is very difficult to blame any particular extreme event on climate change."

The discovery of three chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and one hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) were reported online March 9, 2014, in the journal "Nature Geoscience" by researchers from the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, France and the Netherlands.

Surprised AP: Democrats Are ‘Party Of The Rich’

From a gobsmacked Associated Press:

Party of the rich: In Congress, it’s the Democrats

By STEPHEN OHLEMACHER | March 31, 2014

WASHINGTON (AP) — Republicans are the party of the rich, right? It’s a label that has stuck for decades, and you’re hearing it again as Democrats complain about GOP opposition to raising the minimum wage and extending unemployment benefits.

But in Congress, the wealthiest among us are more likely to be represented by a Democrat than a Republican. Of the 10 richest House districts, only two have Republican congressmen. Democrats claim the top six, sprinkled along the East and West coasts. Most are in overwhelmingly Democratic states like New York and California.

The richest: New York’s 12th Congressional District, which includes Manhattan’s Upper East Side, as well as parts of Queens and Brooklyn.

ICE Freed 68K Illegals With Convictions In 2013

From The Hill:

DHS document: 68,000 illegal immigrants with criminal convictions released in 2013

By Alexander Bolton | March 31, 2014

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials last year released 68,000 illegal immigrants with criminal convictions, undercutting Democratic claims that President Obama has strictly enforced immigration laws.

An internal Department of Homeland Security document compiling statistics on arrests and deportations in 2013 showed that ICE agents encountered 193,357 illegal immigrants with criminal convictions but issued charging documents for only 125,478. More than 67,800 were released.

The data came from an end-of-year “Weekly Departures and Detention Report.”

Bear in mind four things. 1) Obama claims that he is deporting more illegal aliens than ever before. 2) The Obama administration is practically only deporting illegals who have criminal convictions.

Dem Gov Shut Down Sting Netting Bribe Takers

From the Philadelphia Inquirer:

Kane shut down sting that snared Phila. officials

By Angela Couloumbis and Craig R. McCoy | March 17, 2014

The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office ran an undercover sting operation over three years that captured leading Philadelphia Democrats, including four members of the city’s state House delegation, on tape accepting money, The Inquirer has learned. Yet no one was charged with a crime.

Notice that we aren’t even given a number. Who knows how many Democrats were caught.

Prosecutors began the sting in 2010 when Republican Tom Corbett was attorney general. After Democrat Kathleen G. Kane took office in 2013, she shut it down. In a statement to The Inquirer on Friday, Kane called the investigation poorly conceived, badly managed, and tainted by racism, saying it had targeted African Americans.

Covered CA Sending Out Pre-Marked Voter Cards

From the ABC San Diego affiliate, KGTV:

Local couple upset after receiving pre-marked voter registration card from Covered California

By Preston Phillips | March 29, 2014

LA MESA, Calif. – A local couple called 10News concerned after they received an envelope from the state’s Obamacare website, Covered California. Inside was a letter discussing voter registration and a registration card pre-marked with an "x" in the box next to Democratic Party.

The couple – who did not want their identity revealed – received the letter and voter registration card from their health insurance provider Covered California, the state-run agency that implements President Obama’s Affordable Care Act.

They have lived in La Mesa for years and they have always been registered to vote Republican. Now, they are perplexed as to how the voter registration card pre-marked Democrat ended up in their mailbox.

NYT: Deadline Could Be Extended To End Of Year

Some grudging admissions from the New York Times:

Repercussions and Reprieves at Health Insurance Enrollment Deadline

By ROBERT PEAR | March 29, 2014

WASHINGTON — America’s health insurance marketplace closes on Monday night, the deadline for most people to obtain coverage or face a penalty.

Even this lead sentence is not true. Anyone can claim a hardship in dealing with the website and get an extension since there is no proof required. As the article goes on to say later.

The confusion and uncertainty of the last six months appear likely to continue as consumers, including some who have never had insurance, begin using new policies for the first time. Here are answers to some frequently asked questions.

Very few of the people signing up for Obama-Care have never had insurance before.

SNL Does Obama’s Bidding With Bieber Kiss Skit

From Mediaite:

SNL’s Obama Makes Out with Justin Bieber to Push Healthcare.gov

By Tina Nguyen | March 29, 2014

After Barack Obama went on Zach Galifinakis’s Between Two Ferns to push Healthcare.gov, there wasn’t much else he could do in pop culture without jumping his own personal shark. This week’s cold open on SNL imagined a future in which he did.

The only real shock is that SNL didn’t get Obama and Bieber to do this in real life. We’re sure they only had to ask.

In the final 48 hours before the deadline to sign up for healthcare, Obama’s aides forced him to be photographed in Pharrell’s hat and alongside Kim Kardashian and Harry Styles. And “a cat dressed as Elsa from Frozen.” And BatKid.

Obama In Policy ‘Limbo,’ Putin Wants Finland

From Reuters:

Obama ends four-nation trip in diplomatic limbo over Ukraine

By Steve Holland and Jeff Mason | March 29, 2014

RIYADH (Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama ended a four-nation foreign trip on Saturday in the same situation as he began it – facing great uncertainty about a diplomatic way out of the Ukraine crisis.

Of course, ‘limbo’ is also a very apt description of Obama’s entire term in office. But isn’t it racist?

His diplomatic consultations in The Hague, Brussels and Rome over the past week all resulted in a strong show of unity between the United States and Europe that Russia must face consequences should it move against southern or eastern Ukraine…

That is, there is a new ‘red line.’ But are there any Putin cronies who have not already been slapped with ‘harsh sanctions.’ (Sarcasm.)

A late-night phone call on Friday between Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin raised the possibility that Moscow might be willing to negotiate a diplomatic outcome.

Luis Gutiérrez: Return Deported Families To US!

From the Daily Caller:

Democrats dump rhetorical gasoline on immigration dispute for 2014 elections

By Neil Munro | March 27, 2014

… One top advocate says President Barack Obama should invite previously deported people back into the United States, where they can compete for the low-wage jobs now being sought by low-skilled American natives and legal immigrants.

“We not only have to stop the needless destruction of families [with current deportations] but need to heal families that have been caught up in the almost two million deportations we have seen in recent years,” Rep. Luis Gutiérrez declared March 25, shortly after Obama’s new Homeland Security chief came to his office for a meeting.

Just when you thought the amnesty supporters couldn’t get any crazier, Rep.

O-Care Regs Define Fulltime As 30, 35, 40 Hours

From the Washington Examiner:

Confusing Obamacare regs define 30-hour week as 40 hours

By Paul Bedard | MARCH 27, 2014

The administration is confusing and frustrating businesses and lawmakers with new Obamacare regulations that define full-time as working just 30 hours, but sometimes rely on the traditional 40-hour week and even a new and unheard of standard of 35 hours in guidance to employers facing a maze of requirements.

Congressional officials and business leaders, for example, cited to Secrets IRS guidance issued in February. That 227-page package, they said, appears to set two standards: 30 hours for hourly workers, and 40 hours for salaried workers even though the law requires employers to offer healthcare to those who work 30 hours or more, or pay a fine.

AP: Economy Will Boom To A 3% GDP In 2014

From a completely shameless shill at the Associated Press:

Why economists say 2014 could prove breakout year

By MARTIN CRUTSINGER | March 27, 2014

WASHINGTON (AP) — Once this year’s harsh weather has faded, the U.S. economy could be poised for a breakout year — its strongest annual growth in nearly a decade. The combination of an improving job market, pent-up consumer demand, less drag from U.S. government policies and a brighter global outlook is boosting optimism for the rest of 2014…

This AP reporter’s name might as well be Crap Crud-slinger. He certainly handles this bull like a toreador. But that is the job of the AP: to tell us things are better than they are when a Democrat is in the White House.

Reid: I Never Called Obama-Care Stories ‘Lies’

From the Republican research group, America Rising:

Harry Reid Says He Never Called ObamaCare Stories Lies …

Exactly A Month After He Called ObamaCare Stories Lies

March 26, 2014

Exactly a month ago today, Harry Reid took to the Senate floor to say that the ObamaCare horror stories that were being told across the country were lies:

“We heard about the evils of Obamacare, about the lives it’s ruining in Republicans’ stump speeches and in ads paid for by oil magnates, the Koch brothers. But in those tales, turned out to be just that: tales, stories made up from whole cloth, lies distorted by the Republicans to grab headlines or make political advertisements.”

Today, Harry Reid took to the same Senate floor to say that he had never said that any ObamaCare horror stories were lies… to his recollection:

Reid Misuse Of Campaign Funds Twice 1st Report

Meanwhile, we also have this update on his latest mis-use of campaign funds, via our friends at NewsMax:

Probe Uncovers More Reid ‘Slush Fund’ Payments to Granddaughter

By Drew MacKenzie | March 27, 2014

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is at the center of a growing political controversy after it was revealed Thursday that more payments from his campaign funds had been made to his granddaughter than previously reported.

The Nevada Democrat promised earlier this week to reimburse $16,787 his campaign gave to Ryan Elisabeth Reid in 2013 for what was described as payments for “holiday gifts.” Those payments were reportedly made to purchase items from Ryan Elisabeth Reid, who has her own line of jewelry. Reid defended the payments, saying they complied with Federal Election Commission standards that allow the purchase of goods from relatives if those goods are sold at fair market value.
