2nd Law School Listed Warren As A Minority

From The Hill:

Warren found listed as a minority professor at second law school

By Josh Lederman – 05/10/12

Elizabeth Warren was listed as a minority professor by a second law school in a report detailing the school’s progress in creating a diverse faculty.

In addition to Harvard University, where Warren is on faculty, the University of Pennsylvania Law School also touted Warren as a minority, according to an April 2005 document obtained by The Hill.

Warren taught at the Philadelphia school in the 1980s and 1990s. The diversity report, published after Warren had already resigned, said she had received the award in 2004. It was unclear what information led to her being listed as a minority

"It was unclear what information led to her being listed as a minority"? Are we supposed to believe that she didn’t tell them that?

Maybe the school just assumed looking at her high cheekbones that she was an Indian? Or was it her blond hair and blues that gave her away?

The revelation that a second school listed Warren as a minority raised further questions about her claim to Native American heritage and whether it was reasonable for her to represent herself as a minority…

Warren has said she was unaware that Harvard had named her as a minority when promoting its faculty’s diversity, and said she never brought up her heritage when looking for jobs at Harvard or elsewhere. Warren said she had listed her heritage in faculty directories more than 15 years ago in hopes of meeting others with similar backgrounds.

She wanted to meet other people who were 1/32nd Cherokee in order to share their unique experiences.

In a University of Pennsylvania "minority equity report," published in April 2005, Warren is listed as a recipient of the Lindback Award for distinguished teaching. Warren’s name is bolded and in italics, which a legend on the report says indicates faculty members who are minorities

Warren has been unable to independently substantiate her claim to the heritage, and does not claim membership in a tribe. A genealogist told the Boston Herald that Warren’s great-great-great-grandmother may have been Cherokee, which would make her 1/32 Native American.

The same genealogist also noted that Warren’s family is not included in the official Dawes Commission rolls, a census of major tribes completed in the early 20th century that Cherokees use to determine tribal citizenship. He also said that more research would need to be done to make a full determination.

For the record, the census records for 1860 list this great-great-great-grandmother, O.C. Sarah Smith Crawford, as "white."

In an attempt to debunk any speculation that she gained an advantage from being listed as a minority, Warren’s campaign has circulated statements from faculty members and deans from universities where she taught attesting to the fact that she was hired solely based on her academic merits

Shouldn’t these people be fired for not taking Ms. Warren’s minority status into account? Isn’t that against the law?

Brown’s campaign has called on Warren to “come clean” about her motivations for listing herself as a minority. Earlier in the week, Brown called for the Democrat to release her personnel files and her law school applications…

After all, Ms. Warren is a lawyer. Doesn’t she realize how easily these records would put the issue to bed?

Warren’s campaign said Brown is feeding “an ugly story and with nasty insinuations” in an attempt to distract from his voting record, his wealth and his contributions from Wall Street

Sure, she might be a liar. Sure she may have cheated to get work. Sure she may have taken jobs away from real minorities. But people from Wall Street are contributing to Scott Brown!

But she IS a minority. She is the first White/Swedish/Irish/Scottish/English High Cheek-Boned non-Native American Liberal Harvard Lawyer. If that ain’t a minority I don’t know what is. Maybe not the minority she claimed to be, but why dwell on little white (sort of white) lies? So, Aunt Bea was a racist. That’s not her fault. She just used her minority status to overcome a lousy academic career, and isn’t that what diversity is all about? Being able to succeed far beyond your ability. Isn’t it about getting opportunities handed to you because of the color of your skin (or in this case the height of your cheekbones) rather than your academic record or ability or the content of your character?

So, I’ll go with I’ll bet she is a Minority, for real … a minority in terms of IQ scores, which can’t be much above the 70th percentile to try and pull a stunt like this In The Age Of The Internet you crazy dumb blonde

All she has to do is show up at the first debate in a headdress and the Massachusetts liberals will know her squaw heritage is authentic.

It’s nuts to give people benefits due to an ancestor 200 years ago. I guess she wanted to fit in with a cool, oppressed group as determined by liberals. Since black is already taken and she’s married to a man, fudging on great-great-great grandma was the easiest option.

Apparently the only disadvantage in this country is being the descendant of people that built it. Ancestors who arrived as indentured servants and played their cards well, who never said “gimme” based on how their grandparents looked.

Ann Coulter (whose last Wednesday column I just got to today)
had a great story on Spreading Bull and her efforts to get elected
in any way possible. It probably goes into the Culter archives this
