ACORN International Changes Its Name

An ‘editorial’ from the Wade Rathke: Chief Organizer Blog:

Global Action on Remittances

New Orleans On June 16th Community Organizations International (formerly ACORN International) embarked on our first “global action” as protesting the excessive and predatory costs of remittances and demanding reform.  There was great excitement as the reports – and especially the pictures and news reports – came in first from Delhi and then Mumbai where demands were made in India on the central banking authorities.  Then we had a Twitter report from Toronto where members were inside Scotiabank in downtown Canada.  Next there were pictures of our members inside another Scotiabank in Ottawa making sure the demands were faxed immediately…

Of course Mr. Rathke is the founder of ACORN. Though his claim to be the “Chief Organizer” may not be technically true.

From Discover The Networks:

On June 2, 2008, Wade Rathke stepped down from his position as ACORN’s chief organizer. Shortly thereafter, ACORN publicly acknowledged that Dale Rathke — Wade’s brother — had embezzled nearly $1 million from ACORN and its affiliated groups in 1999 and 2000. ACORN further admitted that for eight years its executives had kept this information secret from almost all of their organization’s board members and from law-enforcement authorities, while Dale remained on ACORN’s payroll. (ACORN’s public admission only came to pass because a group of foundations and private donors had recently learned of Dale Rathke’s crimes and were preparing to go public with them.)

Even so, this is probably the closest thing we will have to an official announcement.

And perhaps it only applies to ACORN International, which is only one of (literally) a hundred different ACORN fronts:

In any case, something tells us this name change will matter not.

An ACORN by any other name will be just as corrupt.

And to think I was just kidding the other day when I mused that o-blah-blah told Emmanuel to let’s change the name. Ha, ha. Guess the laughs on me, huh. :-)

“o-blah-blah to Emmanuel: “So Rahm .. I gotta great idea. We change ACORN’s name to the Guardian Council. It’s got a milder ring to it and they do the same stuff.”

      Great call MR.

Now that Acorn is going International, at last we can say that The Moron has done something to help national security.

      Here’s why:

Nothing has been more dangerous for the US than Acorn…..through them, with Obamy’s and Soros’ aid and encouragement, they managed to bring down the US economy. No other action is as dangerous, because a neutered economy neuters the US.

But wait, there’s more! Acorn also fosters class warfare, which also makes us less safe because it makes people hate the country, and instead of coming together, the country is torn apart.

But now for the good news.

Obamy and Acorn are now exporting the hate and economy-destroying activities. So now our enemy’s will have to deal with these insidious, hate-filled, anit-patriotic sabateurs.

Therefore, the US is more safe.

God would I love a chance to be in the White House Press Room:

“Mr. President (or Mr. Gibbs), early reports last week indicated that the Basij Militia, which takes its orders from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard – which takes its orders from (Mr) Khamenei – had been cleared to suppress protests through violence and illegal arrests. Yet your office spoke out in warning to the discredited regime only after the world press had begun to paint a much different picture than the Iranian one and Mr. Khamenei publicly acknowledged the possibility of a ‘crackdown.’ Why were you late to acknowledge the reality of a government willfully harming and impugning a peaceful showing for Democracy?”

O’blah-blah: “Well I’d contend that history shows us blah blah blah blah. Now I need to be honest, blah blah blah! Thank you.” Translation: The Basij stole our plan for the next round of Tea Parties coming up. Dirty bastards! I’m just giving you an innocuous argument to get myself out of a jam, and hoping it’ll infuriate conservatives enough with my unceasing use of the word “justice” over “liberty” to spark another partisan debate for which half of the nation will end up blaming Bush and Christianity.

Point is whether it’s the Basij, the PLO, the People’s Army, the COI, they’re all ACORNs from the same tree. (Not the one of life). Their tactics may differ and range in extremity, but the intent is always the same.

Well, give them points for trying I guess. There are sooo many stupid people who won’t get this name change.

  4. canary says:

Walmart should sue ACORN. ACORN is bad for their business.

  5. wardmama4 says:

They have had over 100 people from the inside (up from the original ACORN 8) putting out documents and a paper trail on the embezzlement/election fraud and this is how they respond to it?

And on a weekend no less – when who pays attention to the news?

And of course, just in case this tactic doesn’t work – they are suing the first woman for defamation – which is like I guess suing a prostitute for alienation of affection. You have to have an upright character to have it defiled by releasing the truth.

This thorn bush is still a prick!
