"Why do people get so touchy"

Because the bloodthirsty part is liberal propaganda. Read my previous post. It's not Christianity, it's human nature. Christianity is actually LESS bloodthirsty than almost everything else that came before or has come after.

Liberals love to run around blaming western culture, religion, and conservatives for every bad thing that has ever happened in the world (makes them feel superior, donchaknow). And they excuse the very same behaviours in every other culture.

It's another element of the brainwashing that goes on full-time in the universities and schools.

So when you see it, you gotta call it out. You need to rethink it VM. You got caught in the liberal snare on this one.

It reveals your character, heart, and truthfulness when you try to define all of Christianity in terms of "blood".

Those with a dark heart try to define Christianity as being "bloody" by pointing to the cases where governments performed crusades, the inquisition, burning people at the stake for simply reading the bible.

Those who have more of Christ's love in their hearts try to define Christianity as being "bloody" in this sense: the blood that was cut and spilled out of Jesus before and after the crucifixion; the blood of martyrs who were eaten alive and massacred in the Roman coliseum for their faith; the blood of the countless soldiers of faith who protected Jerusalem and Europe against Muhammed and the hundreds of years since worth of Islamic armies bent on enriching their purses and a fanatical jihad of "convert or die".

Why do people get soooo touchy when I simply suggest that Christianity is a personal thing and that what needs to be done is can all the priests, popes, pastors, reverends and the like. Christ gave us a few simple charges and that's about all there is to it. You remember "If you've done unto the least of these" and the thing about taking care of orphans, widows and the stranger in the land. But wait the so called "church" has ceded most of that to the government. As to the bloody part the crusades, the inquisition, burning people at the stake for simply reading the bible. I guess your right Christianity was not a bloody religion.

Violence between the birth of Christ and the late middle ages is due more to human nature than to Christianity.

It's not like wars ramped up when Christianity took hold. The Romans were in wars full time. The Huns didn't invade Europe because they disagreed with Jesus. The Ottoman Empire was the agressor, not Christian nations. The European Christian wars of the middle ages were bad, but who would argue that Europe would have been at peace then without them? People were flailing at each other with about the same fervor before, during and after those episodes.

And nobody blames Christianity for the horrific wars since 1800. Look to empire-building, communism, and megalomaniacs for the root causes of 95% of the wars in the last 200 years

As human history has gone, Christianity is not particularly "bloodthirsty", despite the relentless propagandists that want to blame every evil on western culture.

VMAN/"Christianity was a fairly blood thirsty religion before it’s reformation.."

I'm sorry but, I disagree with that Christianity was a blood thirsty religion. That "yadda yadda yadda" has been the excuse for so many in the world, to condemn Christianity, and to condemn the U.S. that was based on Christianity. I was simply explaining that the desire to kill Christians has been since it began. In some countries you would be killed for reading the bible. And there are muslims bloody killing Christians all over the world. I just don't think Christiantiy has ever deserved to be called a blood thirsty religion.
Not sure where your yadda ends others opinions or yours, but your belief that "in the present Christianity has pretty much become a toothless lion",
well, not sure what you mean. I don't believe America's ever been in tune for killing people because they aren't Christians. As far as letting those that aren't constantly attacking the laws in this country. The right to school prayer, which doesn't hurt anyone of any belief. I mean if heathen children want to feel a moment a day thinking that most of the class are nuts, big deal. But, prayer in the school, was a moment each day, that held more power than could ever be seen by the human eye. It gave children at least a moment to hear of a Father. To have hope of a Father that might hear them. So many younger children have never heard Jesus. They don't hear it in their homes, neighbor kids. The Supreme Court and Obomies just keep giving religious minorities more rights
than Christians that built this country. It's just a nation of doing whatever you bloody feel like doing. No morals or values.

It's pretty telling that Islam treats marriage as a bunch of "do's and don'ts." Christianity treats it as a higher law--a law of love.

VMan

With respect to you,I have to say Christianity does not have a violent past.

Its the people who have inserted what they want into Christianity in order to rule others who have been violent. (Crusades, The intrigue of the medieval times, even the to Klu Klux Klan etc)

But there is nothing in the New Testament that advocates hatred or violence anywhere. Quite the opposite. Forgiveness, turning the other cheek... Jesus always just laid it out and it was up to the hearer to accept or reject.

Jesus never forced or threatened anyone. (Except on the temple steps and then only to over turn tables)

The Koran on the other hand advocates violence against non-believers, and hatred against women etc.

Jesus always treated women with compassion and respect. So Christianity itself is not violent nor disrespectful to women.

It's people. Not Christianity.

I said this only because it really bothers me to hear people claim Christianity has had it's violent history. It doesn't. People who claim to be Christians have. But their behavior is never backed up in the Bible.

Just had to get that off my chest...

I love the "Reagan tells Obama to shut-up"! Beautiful!

You know, I was really listening to what O'balmy was saying and next expecting him to tell us...No radios, TVs. No music, no singing. No cars. No women out on the streets with out a male family member. No women out of their burkas....

He was pretty clearly telling the muslim extremist world that he will take us back a hundred years in defense.

As soon as he gets it all done...he'll announce to the muslim terrorist..."come on in...the water's fine!

Half us will belly up to the bar and fight to defend this country and the rest, the namby pambys, will continue to stick their head in the sand and continue to look for "hope and change".

“How else to explain Islam’s scorn, disdain and fear of women?”

Let try...They're just plain EVIL! It's simple to me.

Evil men do evil things to others and look for ways to blame others for their evil ways.

EVIL

1 a: morally reprehensible : sinful , wicked b: arising from actual or imputed bad character or conduct
2 aarchaic : inferior b: causing discomfort or repulsion : offensive c: disagreeable
3 a: causing harm : pernicious b: marked by misfortune : unlucky

yadda yadda yadda heard it all before. Early Christians didn't have popes and priests and pastors and so on and so on. They just had Christ. When Christianity became "organized" that's when the trouble started. The reformation helped but of course there were still problems. It's man that's the problem not God. Fast forward to today and Christianity has pretty much become a toothless lion ceding most of its God given responsibility to the government. If only Christians had dumped the clergy and held to the teaching of Christ the whole world would have been better off.

VMan/Christianity was a fairly blood thirsty religion before it’s reformation.

Actually, the beginning of Christianity was the persecution and murder of anyone that practiced Christianity. They added steeples to churches in pretense of worshipping the sun god. They would draw a fish in the ground, to show they were Christians. The salem witch hunts, were stopped once the governement got involved, and many imprisoned were saved. But, the devil has a front pew within any religion. It's not just the Catholic priests that molest children. There is good and evil in every profession, and in every religion, and in man.
Christians in order to worship Easter the Resurrection of Christ, which cleansed us all, was mingled with commercial Easter, worshipping the fertilization (bunnies and eggs) needed to honor be fruitful and mulitply. Even the round shiny balls on Christmas trees was for the sun god. None of it matters. It's where your heart is.
Man is not perfect. And no man-made church is perfect. The hope, through all the struggle and suffering, is for a perfect place for all eternity.

Man is not perfect. And no man-made church is perfect. The hope, through all the struggle and suffering, is for a perfect place for all eternity.

The Patriot/ For Muslim’s and anyone else unfamiliar with the term “gynophobic,” here’s the definition:

“Gynophobia is a traumatic stress disorder that causes a great amount of discomfort in a person when placed in social situations with women.

And “proreason” states, “It’s not about a fear of women….it’s the desire to CONTROL women.” Of course it is, and WHY the desire to control if not out of fear? And hatred of women either preceeds or follows fear…..

It's not aruging the hatred and disrespect, it's your belief that the hatred derives from fear or a traumatic stress disorder. Dont' think women were casterating or decapitating men.

The isolation of women in the muslim world, does not stem from men avoiding the women from fear. men fearing and avoiding , isn't because they are traumatized afraid to go near a woman. The other given explanation is that the hatred for women is rooted from predjudism and discrimination, which was my blaming it on religion.

But, Pro-Reason's explanation that their hatred comes from the"desire to control" is much more accurate, and she hit the nail on the head.

I do agree with ya, Obama is all that you say he is, and more.

First, I regret my double-post..... Error on my part.....

Secondly, in "canary's" and "proreason's" disagreement with my claim that Islam is a religion of gynophobics and misogynists, they each make my point..... Canary says Muslim men have ".....no difficulty showing and practicing in bold manner their hatred towards women!" Thank you, canary.....
And "proreason" states, "It’s not about a fear of women….it’s the desire to CONTROL women." Of course it is, and WHY the desire to control if not out of fear? And hatred of women either preceeds or follows fear.....

Islam, sharia law, a world caliphate, murder, mutilation and terrorism ~~ just a few of the reasons that the Muslim world poses the biggest threat to our United States and our Constitution, which is the bedrock of our freedoms and right to choose.....

As for B. O. Obama, who has sworn to ".....protect and defend" our Constitution..... In my not-so-humble opinion, I consider his oath nothing more than a lie, and him nothing more than a Muslim,
dedicated to Muslim principals, including reducing the United States to just another rag-tag Third World nation..... Socialism/Marxism/Communism/Terrorism ~~ all tools of Islam!!!

"How else to explain Islam’s scorn, disdain and fear of women?"

I agree with Canary that the explanation is off base.

It's not about a fear of women....it's the desire to CONTOL women.

In fact, that's a big reason why the entire religion was created.

And it's very consistent with the other big reason the religion was created, which is world domination.

And that illustrates that the true psychological disorder is the one that possesses femi-nazis who ally with Muslims. In their addled brains, the right to have sex with who whoever they want without consequences trumps everything else, including their own certain destruction if their allies ever gained power over them..
