I can’t help but read this statement as an affirmation that – when it comes to women’s rights – Christianity surpasses Islam by a mile. For, clearly, Islamists feel that women who object to marital rape and imprisonment (because what else could “regulates when and for what reasons a wife may leave her home alone” mean?) are under the evil grasp of Christianity, which not only condemns rape – marital or otherwise – but (gasp!) lets women leave the house alone, work, drive, vote, and do other things Islam considers “immoral.”

Of course the usual suspects in the MSM and secular left will continue to trumpet the multiculturalist line (“All cultures are equally good!”), continue to claim (falsely) that all Abrahamic religions are equally oppressive, and otherwise try to find ways to make Christianity worse (“Catholics won’t let women be priests! Oh, the horror, the horror!”).

In the meantime, actual women’s issues and women’s rights (as opposed to the made-up “right” to abortion) are going ignored for the sake of fashionable political correctness.

Funny how, when you believe in absolutely nothing, you’ll fall for anything.
