AFL-CIO To DHS: End Work With AZ Cops

From The Hill:

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka

AFL-CIO wants DHS to stop working with Arizona state cops

By Jordan Fabian – 05/14/10

One of the nation’s most influential labor groups and a civil rights organization on Friday urged Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to end programs with Arizona law enforcement agencies over the state’s controversial immigration law.

The AFL-CIO and the Leadership Conference penned a letter to Napolitano, saying that while the administration has said it is opposed to the law, they need to be doing more to protest it.

The Arizona law requires that state and local law enforcement officials ask for identification from people they suspect are in the country illegally, if they are stopped for other reasons.

"Unless DHS terminates aU 287(g) program agreements in Arizona, the federal government will be complicit in the racial profiling that lies at the heart of the Arizona law," the letter says

The 287(g) program is a partnership between federal and local law enforcement officials that provides federal training for local agents to enforce immigration laws. The program targets serious criminal aliens who pose a public safety threat, according to DHS officials…

The letter was co-signed by Richard Trumka, president of the AFL-CIO, and Wade Henderson, president and CEO of the Leadership Conference.

After all, what is more important to ‘homeland security’?

Guarding against terrorist attacks or avoiding any possible chance of racial profiling?

This sounds like hate speech to me. I mean, has Richard Trumka read the law? Can Richard Trumka even read?! If so, he should start with the Constitution.

Nothing, NOTHING, about the AFL-CIO should be taken at face value. Those parasites at the head of all labor organizations are working both sides of the street–and have been for well over 100 years. They are communists! The heart and soul of collective bargaining is communism!

And before any of you good ‘union’ members decide to flame me for my comments, let me assure you I know of which I speak. I’ve been a member of the UBC for over 45 years mostly by economic coersion. The leadership cares little for the rank-and-file so long as the dues keep coming in. They’re nothing short of a legalized protection racket. Or as one of my long-since retired older “brothers” put it, “When the Feds cracked down on organized crime in the ’30’s, they didn’t erradicate it, all they did was drive it underground, and it cropped up in organized labor. All with the blessing of the government.”

I feel your pain JohnMG, I’m a “forced” member of the IAM due to the lack of Right to Work laws here in Ohio. No flames headed your way from my direction.

If anything we (DHS) should be working more closely with Arizona law enforcement. Its about time someone is doing what the DHS has been restricted from doing by our own management. The rank and file CBP & ICE agents would love to have the shackles taken off so they can just do their job but all of the PC crap coming out of Washington prevents us from doing so.

Trumka… even his name sounds like a thug.

AFL-CIO president Trumka’s face resembles that ACORN Spanish worker at a California ACORN office who bragged on video of having ties in human trafficking. I’m talking about the ACORN worker that offered the undercover investigators to pull strings in trafficking more young girls for them to get beat & raped.

None of those ACORN workers in the other state offices videod flinched when the undercover investigators told of the young girls being shipped & prostituted.

Just makes me think of Obama’s ministering to sex-offenders through his Trinity, and Obama’s voting against stricter laws against child predators.
The hypocrisy of Obama doing those be a father today.
