Ahmadinejad: Obama Is In Bush Trap

From Iran’s Press TV:

Ahmadinejad censures Obama for Iran comments

Thu, 25 Jun 2009

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has criticized US President Barack Obama for his recent comments about post-presidential election protests in Iran.

President Ahmadinejad said the American president had made the mistake of following in the footsteps of certain European countries and his predecessor George W. Bush.

"Our question from Obama is why has he fallen into this trap and repeated the comments that Bush used to make," the Iranian president said on Thursday.

President Ahmadinejad’s criticism came after President Obama made a comment about Iran’s political climate on Monday, saying, "I am deeply troubled by the violence that I’ve been seeing on television."

"I think it’s important that, moving forward, whatever investigations take place are done in a way that is not resulting in bloodshed and is not resulting in people being stifled in expressing their views," he added.

The Obama White House has been looking at ways to create a change in tone and adopt a manner different from the Bush administration’s hostile one with regards to Iran.

With his slogan of "change", President Obama has pledged to extend a hand of peace to Iran if it "unclenched its fist".

Ahmadinejad questioned Obama’s motive for making the comments about Iran, arguing that it contradicted the American slogan of change.

"If your approach is the same as before what is there left to talk about?…this attitude will only make you another Bush in the eyes of the people," Ahmadinejad said with reference to Washington’s call for holding talks with Tehran.

And here is further elucidation on Mr. Ahmadinejad’s most recent pronouncement from Iran’s IRIB:

President: Western States’ Anti-Iran Stance Rooted in Devilish, Despotic Regimes’ Sense of Danger

Republic of Iran’s President Dr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that the anti-Iran stance which has been adopted by the Western and European states is due to the fact that devilish and despotic regimes have felt endangered.

According to IRIB, addressing the inaugural ceremony of Mehr Petrochemical Complex in the city of Assalouyeh, southern Iran, Thursday, President Ahmadinejad referred to a few foreign powers’ propaganda and disinformation campaigns about the presidential poll, noting that such propaganda campaigns have been launched because they feel threatened and their fabrications and false claims about democracy have been revealed.

President noted: "The national solidarity registered a major epic throughout 10th presidential election, in which 40 million alert and enthusiastic people cast their votes. The Iranian nation is determined more than ever to continue this righteous path and believes a change in the governing global oppressive relations is a must."

President Ahmadinejad noted that: "The Iranian nation will adopt a stance with full strength and based on principles, logic, justice, understanding, and fraternity, and will speak with European and Western governments as it deems fit."

Just as every sentient being knew would happen, the Iranians are attacking the US for meddling.

So Mr. Obama’s dithering and  (at best) namby-pamby pronouncements have succeeded in giving us the worst of both worlds.

Meanwhile, lest we forget, this is the very preferable tone that Mr. Bush used towards Iran in his last State Of The Union Address, back in January 2008:

State of the Union Address

January 28, 2008

… We are also standing against the forces of extremism embodied by the regime in Tehran. Iran’s rulers oppress a good and talented people. And wherever freedom advances in the Middle East, it seems the Iranian regime is there to oppose it.

Iran is funding and training militia groups in Iraq, supporting Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon, and backing Hamas’ efforts to undermine peace in the Holy Land. Tehran is also developing ballistic missiles of increasing range and continues to develop its capability to enrich uranium, which could be used to create a nuclear weapon.

Our message to the people of Iran is clear: We have no quarrel with you, we respect your traditions and your history, and we look forward to the day when you have your freedom.

Our message to the leaders of Iran is also clear: Verifiably suspend your nuclear enrichment, so negotiations can begin. And to rejoin the community of nations, come clean about your nuclear intentions and past actions, stop your oppression at home, and cease your support for terror abroad.

But above all, know this: America will confront those who threaten our troops, we will stand by our allies, and we will defend our vital interests in the Persian Gulf…

If only Mr. Obama were more like Mr. Bush.

I’m sure Obama will issue an apology to Iran for the HARSH words he unleashed on them.

Obama thinks you can eat soup with a fork.

Nooo…Bush would be saying daily “We are on the side of free & fair elections.”

When’s Jemma Carter goin’ to Iran to certify the election?

Read a very interesting piece the other day about Obama’s inveterate lieing. It said he is an expert at something called “affirmative lieing”. This is when you try to weasel you way out of your first lie with a series of lies that yield more and more ground. They expect to wear you down with the torrent of new lies masking the original. Example: Rev Wright

    1. He didn’t say those things. The sound bites are tricks.
    2. He didn’t say those things when I was there and I know him to be an honorable man.
    3. I might have been there occassionally when he said those things but I know his heart is good.
    4. OK, there are thousands of tapes of him, but I was never there during the bad ones, and he may have misrepresented himself to me
    5. I repudiate what he says but will never abandon our friendship.
    6. He’s wrong….where’s the bus.

The problem for an lifelong habitual liar like Obamy is that people like Akmanutjob won’t put up with it. They are like the guy in the old movie who when faced with the whirling dervish spinning around with 2 razor sharp swords, just pulls our his pistol and shoots the fool.

Nutjob is crazy, but we could use somebody with that characteristic in this country today.

    • TwilightZoned says:

Does affirmative lieing go hand in hand with affirmative action? (major sarcasm)

Here I just thought he was pathological…or is using affirmative lieing weaseling out of being called pathological?

      Pathological Liar

A pathological liar is usually defined as someone who lies incessantly to get their way and does so with little concern for others. Pathological lying is often viewed as coping mechanism developed in early childhood and it is often associated with some other type of mental health disorder. A pathological liar is often goal-oriented (i.e., lying is focused – it is done to get one’s way). Pathological liars have little regard or respect for the rights and feelings of others. A pathological liar often comes across as being manipulative, cunning and self-centered.

I go back to a question I posted a few weeks ago…what made Obama think that once he became president relations with thugs like Ahmedinejad and Chavez would magically improve? He honestly must have thought of himself as Superman. “Oh, all these guys need is a cup of coffee and my winning smile and they’ll be putty in my hands.”

Ahmedinejad is a FREAK, but Obama is just as much of a freak for thinking it would go down like that. You can’t please nutjobs like Ahmedinejad…not unless you’re willing to piss off a WHOLE BUNCH of people.

BHO is a stupid, naive, arrogant SOB.

I find it so interesting that a dictator who can kill, chop off limbs, beat torture or would decorate his palaces to look like a little girls bedroom. I wonder if just out of sight to the right…is there a four poster bed with a canopy on it?

Sorry…just had to laugh. It’s so ‘purty’

    • BatK says:

Most little girls don’t have a picture of the ayatollah on their walls as if he were the fourth Jonas brother… at least I hope not

    • jobeth says:

      LOL…I saw that too.

But then again you may be wrong. The ayatollah just might be the “forth Jonas brother” to the little Islamic girls. :-D

At least he is to Imanutjob.

BTW…Looking at the table to the left, I thought for a moment that Imanutjob was having a tea party!

Lordy…we go to tea parties here!

Forget the weenie diplomacy…he’s into tea parties….

I’m going to miss tea parties.

I just don’t think he bowed, hugged, knocked fists, high fived, these leaders that abuse and kill people freely in their countries, because he is dumb. I think he was giving them more of a message I’m on your side, and condone and bow to your majesty, and let such as the likes of Chavez, is as simple as
Obama saying “I approve of what you. I am on your side. Let’s be friends.”

He did not just let down the human race and children of God, in not speaking the truth of what just happened in Iran, anymore than he has ever called the chopping off of heads, body parts, etc. is wrong. Which is way anyone who was against such treatment would never put on such brotherly love b.s.

Obama did not just let down Iran, and the other countries who spoke out against the treatment. He failed his own country. He showed his hatred of America, and might as well have said, this is acceptable.
Obama did not speak out for the people of Iran. He reluctantly spoke out, because America saw something wrong in his looking away. He can’t have it both ways. The globe all one happy family. And his love for Indonesia is consistant, and they are dealing with mob and suicide bombing, purging, etc. And so Obama can not object to their religious beliefs. BUT, Obama has no problem in telling the civilized Israel, in what they need to do. He doesn’t hesitate to tell them what to do, but doesn’t want to meddle in with his own people of muslim faith. He doesn’t hestitate to show his hatred of America, but
praises the worst tyrants in the world. He is cold. Everything and everyone is only worthful to him, as what they can do for him. He is not about doing anything for others. He thinks he is superior to the world. He truly believes he is unmatchable. He can not phantom anyone as meeting up to his expectations. he only worships himself, and other’s like him that he can relate to. Only those skilled enough to become powerful tyrants can he relate to, and he is trying to impress them.

      You nailed it Canary.

The most annoying thing is that even most conservatives treat him as if he is just another Bill Clinton / Jimmy Carter, when he is far far beyond anything those fools ever contemplated.

This is not a creature who maps to anything in America’s past. He loathes what we stand for and intends to destroy it.

If there is any evidence to the contrary, I’ld like to see it.

Gee, I wish Obie had the courage to use these same words in a conversation with Achmadinijad. His cowardice has become obvious. He is beyond redemption.
