Ahmadinejad: Israel Has To Go Elsewhere

From his rabid fans at France’s AFP:

Iran’s president tells Israel to find a new home

05/Aug/2007

ALGIERS (AFP)—Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called on Israel to “go find somewhere else” for its state and leave its territory for the creation of a Palestinian state, according to an interview published Saturday.

“Our support (for the Palestinian people) is unconditional. As for the Israelis, let them go find somewhere else,” Ahmadinejad told several Algerian newspapers ahead of an visit to Algiers that starts Monday…

Ahmadinejad said, too, that Iran wanted to cooperate with Algeria against terrorism. “Islam bans the assassination of innocent people wherever they are,” he said.

“We reject all methods of terrorism, whatever the denomination or motive,” Ahmadinejad declared.

He criticised what he called the “partial” view of human rights in Western countries.

He said there were “secret prisons” in Europe. “In the United States people’s telephone conversations are listened to. In Britain, people are spied on using television cameras. In Palestine, Israel commits butchery. But no-one causes a scandal.” …

Gee, one wonders where Mr. Ahmadinejhad gets his talking points.

Meanwhile, from Iran’s Press TV:

Iran, Saudi stress Muslim unity

Sun, 05 Aug 2007

Saudi King Abdullah and Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
Iran and Saudi Arabia have called for unity among Muslims, emphasizing the value of bolstering friendly relations among Islamic nations.

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah stressed strengthening unity among Muslims, in a telephone conversation on Saturday, reported Mehr News Agency.

Officials of Islamic countries including Iran and Saudi Arabia should cooperate with each other to thwart enemies’ conspiracies, “Ahmadinejad said, referring to the intention of the enemies of Islam have to cause a strife among Muslims.

King Abdullah responded by saying that Tehran and Riyadh should not allow their enemies to hatch plots and interfere in the mutual relations of the two countries or any other Muslim nation.

What a snake pit the Middle East is.

And still more good news, this from Iran’s Fars News Agency:

Ahmadinejad’s Ideas in Harmony with Public Views

TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Results of a recent opinion poll suggested that a majority of Iranians believe Ahmadinejad’s ideas are close or very close to their views…

Results showed that 51.7% of the 8,000 people polled in 60 different cities of the country last month believed that Ahmadinejad’s views are very or very much similar to those of the public, while 24.7% found his views rather close, 12.9% a little close and 10.6% little close to their views

The same opinion poll said 77.7% of Iranians demand that the government continue uranium enrichment activities, a recent opinion poll said…

Well, this poll is probably as unskewed and unbiased as any of those presented to us by our watchdog media.
