Ahmadinejad’s Racism Prompts UN Walkout

From his (not so) secretly agreeing fans at Reuters:

Unidentified delegates walk out of the Assembly Hall as Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad addresses the High Level segment of the Durban Review Conference on racism at the United Nations European headquarters in Geneva April 20, 2009.

Ahmadinejad prompts walkout from U.N. racism summit

By Laura MacInnis

GENEVA, April 20 (Reuters) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad prompted a walkout during his speech to a U.N. racism summit on Monday when he accused Israel of establishing a "cruel and repressive racist regime" over Palestinians.

The summit had already been badly undermined by a boycott by the United States and some of its major allies over concerns that it would be used as a platform for attacks against Israel.

The boycott left Ahmadinejad, who has in the past cast doubt on the Nazi Holocaust, as the only head of state in attendance. His speech produced the kind of language that the Western countries and Israel had feared.

"Following World War II they resorted to military aggressions to make an entire nation homeless under the pretext of Jewish suffering," Ahmadinejad told the conference, on the day that Jewish communities commemorate the Holocaust.

"And they sent migrants from Europe, the United States and other parts of the world in order to establish a totally racist government in the occupied Palestine," he said, according to the official translation.

"And in fact, in compensation for the dire consequences of racism in Europe, they helped bring to power the most cruel and repressive racist regime in Palestine."

Dozens of diplomats in the audience promptly got up and left the hall for the duration of the speech…

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who held a meeting with Ahmadinejad earlier on Monday, said it was "deeply regrettable" that the Iranian leader ignored his plea to avoid causing upset.

"I deplore the use of this platform by the Iranian President to accuse, divide and even incite," he said in an unusually direct statement. "We must all turn away from such a message in both form and substance."

A rare (maybe unique) example of morality coming from the United Nations of all places.

Still, the question arises: what would Mr. Obama have done? Would he have walked out?

Somehow we don’t think so.

There can now be no question that the Iranian Nuclear plant operating right now is for peaceful purposes only.

The Israel now have a green light to whack Ahmadinkwad. He must have a STD of the brain housing group. This turd is as big a racist as Sharpton, Jackson, Wright, Farrotkong, Lewis and the CBC, and of course our very own BlackBarry da Pirate!!

  2. jobeth says:

Frankly I am surprised that with Obalmy as prez, we boycotted it at all. Let alone wonder if he would have walked out.

What a breath of fresh air. Breathe in deeply, for I’m not sure if there will be another one any time soon.

    • Odie44 says:

      jobeth –

The official press release from the White House said “we regretfully decline…”

Bill Kristol made this point last night on Fox News. “What is he regretful about?”

  3. canary says:

After Obama made several apologies for the U.S. behavior, in his speech at the America’s Summit, Obama and Iran’s Ahmadamajad were looking forward to their next rendezvous at the UN Racism Summit. Racism, is Obama’s most articulated subjects he speaks on. However, his colleagues and wife pressured & warned Obama; his infamous twenty years with anti-Jewish and anti-American Rev. Wright and other anti-Jewish comrades, would re-circulate and distribute around the Global World, and show hypocrisy.

  4. VMAN says:

It’s sad when you think the french have more guts than Obama. I’m sure the only reason Oboobie wasn’t at the conference is because he was hanging with his commie buds. Of course he didn’t have the guts to walk out when they started ragging on the USA. Wait a minute he agrees with them.

  5. The Truth Seeker says:

I am not anti-Jewish or anti-Israel, but Ahmadinejad is 100% correct in every word he speaks.

His characterization of the creation of the State of Israel is perfectly precise. And is claim that Israel is currently a racist regime is geared toward maintaining racial domination by the Jewish race over the Arabic race. Israel has an immigration policy that’s purpose – purpose – is to guarantee that the race previously cleansed remains subject to the newly arrived ruling race. Would Israel permit those evicted (or their descendants) to return with as much ease as newly arrived Jews, Ahmadinejad would be mistaken.

It’s yours to ignore the history of the region since 1896 (the beginning of the Zionist movement), but to take some moral high-ground as per the truth vis-a-vis Ahmadinejad is absurd. He is telling more truth than we are. That being said, the origins of the State of Israel are as legitimate as most modern nations. Their right to exist is not based on some noble history but based on military power like any other.

To be sure, I don’t care who rules that region enough to risk USA lives or USA treasure. We’ve provided Israel enough wealth and done the fighting in that region up until now. They can and should solely bear the burden of fighting Iran in this instance. If they are our allies, they can fight like it; after all, taking $40B of our money each year does not make them allies but rather parasites. If they want to be allies – fighting allies – take care of Iran on their own.

Israeli and Arab are not “races”.

Ach-mena-job is a terrorist kingpin and whether he speaks truth or not is immaterial. It’s like a convicted murderer who finds satisfaction in the bible for his misdeeds.

And, truth or not, after Obama wants to make nice-nice with such people, it flies in the face of the most basic of common sense to placate killers.

Being non-religious in any way, I see your point but the bigger picture tells me that the stakes are very high and if Iran has the stones to go after Israel, they will find those same stones handed to them in a basket. By Israel. You’re right: They don’t really need our help.

Israel was never founded to be anything other than it is. Kind of like…here in the US….when you’re under 50 and you want to live in a retirement community. The local laws allow it to remain a 50 and over community and you can’t buy a house there.

I admire Israel because they make no apologies for it. There is not one group, religion, race, color or practice that hasn’t been persecuted at one time or another but the Jews have had a monumental share. And remember…that sycophant who runs Iran also claimed that the holocaust was a made up fantasy. So maybe his watch reads 2PM when it really was 2PM this time. But he is no more to be respected for speaking what you say is the truth than Hitler was for his love of dogs.

Don’t lose sight of the painting for the frame it’s in.

TTS you believe… Ahmadinejad is 100% correct in every word he speaks… history of the region since 1896 (the beginning of the Zionist movement), but to take some moral high-ground as per the truth vis-a-vis Ahmadinejad is absurd. He is telling more truth than we are. His characterization of the creation of the State of Israel is perfectly precise.

You appear to worship Ahmadinejad. Only God is perfect.

Israelites are not racists, but Ahmadinejad is a religious biggoted megalomaniac, such as many other Muhammand followers who converted to the Qu’ran. The most evil religious fanatics to roam the earth. Judaism and Semitics were in Isreal way before megalomaniac Muhammand’s extremists. Ahmadinejad’s version of Isreals creation is not truthful, if you back to the begining of history. Isreal is smart not to let any terrorists like Ahmadinejad into their small country, to prevent Ahmadinejad from chopping their heads off. yeah, like Israel should just make it easier for them to chop Israelites heads off; the least reason being that they won’t honor Muhammand and the Qu’ran; a big reason being Israel helps the US.
And all your b.s. that the Jews and Semitics rule to create a supreme race is insane. I don’t blame Israal for securing their borders. For, years now, Palenstine has fired rockets into their ancestorial home, while the U.S. has recommended that Israel suck it up and not declare war on Palenstine. But, when Israel has had enough, and acted on their own, U.S. is blamed? , Ya know you can not talk to muslim extremists.

TTS ” Their right to exist is not based on some noble history but based on military power like any other.”

Yep, Iran just hates Israel exporting military weapons to the U.S.
Yes, they need military power to fight off the muslim terrorists that keep shooting rockets and doing suicide bombings, killing innocent children in Israel.
The U.S. just gave billions in humanitary aid to Israel’s tormentors, the Palenstines, even though it was the Hamas’s, in Palestines, fault..

TTS “If they are our allies, they can fight like it; after all, taking $40B of our money each year does not make them allies but rather parasites.

wooaah now. The U.S. imports alot of high-technology and defensive military equipment from Israel, as do other countries. And Isreal buys U.S. exports like “coal”; the “coal” that Obama wants to stop producing, hurting Isreal and bankrupting the U.S. coal producers! Harming many countries who depend on coal. I’m sure most of the middle-east, aside their racist bigotry towards the entire world, which Muhammad tells them to convert the world; alot caused by the fact that Israel and the U.S. are allies, and trade buddies.

STT “If they want to be allies – fighting allies – take care of Iran on their own.”

Who the heck is fighting Iran. It’s Iran who keep threatening to nuke anyone that speaks to Isreal. Why doesn’t Iran’s tyrant let the Hamas and Gaza crowd move into Iran’s big country, and stop the fighting. Cause they will destroy anyone that does not convert to the Qu’ran. Chop chop.
p.s. If Israel is racist and want extreme being, why do they allow people of every race, color, religion, and sex, visit their country? I’m sure some cute little baby’s pop out now and then.

  13. The Truth Seeker says:

    Cool …

Greetings all; I am glad to have received your responses and am eager to be proven mistaken. I have to do some other things, but I will look at your comments and write again later tonight.

I do wish to add to my comment that Amadinejad is wrong about the Holocaust. It seems correct that 13 million people were killed in those camps, about 5.5 million of them were Jews. One interesting fact is that by far the overwhelming majority of Germans killed in the camps were Christian Germans. Jewish Germans made up perhaps 200,000-300,000; Christian Germans about 1.5 million. The remaining Jews killed, 5 million about were foreign. It is a myth that Christian Germans did not stand up to Hitler and the numbers who were killed in the Holocaust prove it.

I will look for corroboration of the $40B figure; I do mean aid, not trade, so if I am mistaken; so be it.

Race is an indefinite term. It really means descent. Hence Jews claim descent from Abraham. Arabs believe themselves to be differently descended but commonly so. Each are semetic peoples so the term anti-semetic is inapt.

Any objective reading of history would show that the Arabs have a legitimate complaint about the State of Israel. Amadinejad is right; if the point was to create a homeland for the Jews to rectify the horrors of the Holocaust, the State of Israel should be in Bavaria, not Palestine.

    More later.

  14. The Truth Seeker says:

    I stand corrected …

$40B is just wrong; I read that number somewhere. This is correct:

It was $4.2B in 2000. The figure is $2.5B in 2006, whatever amount now. Just the same, excepting Egypt at $1.7B in 2006 (which is virtually being bribed by the US on Israel’s behalf to remain peaceful), Israel is by a multiple of 4-5 the largest recipient of US foreign aid.

In any case, my premise is correct; trade being a different matter, for all the aid we give our “allies” Israel, its their time to step up and shed blood for our alliance. We have done enough in Afghanistan and Iraq. If Israel wants to exist, it can do it’s own fighting against Iran.

For the record, I think Iran is asking for it; Israel is perfectly right to strike now and strike hard. I don’t know why they are wasting their time on the nuclear plant sites. They should strike the oil fields; an easy and more valuable target.

    • Liberals Demise says:

And here I thought you were a know it all…….Iran won’t bomb them with a “OIL” bomb!! Iran may have the oil but they lack the refinery capabilities to do much with it!!
As for the rest of your rant about Israel striking Iran……….they were simply waiting for YOUR permission.

  15. The Truth Seeker says:

    Jews are racist.

Er, uh, excuse me, but the definition of Judaism is that Jews are God’s chosen race. I know it is “spun” to indicate that Jews are meant to serve as an example for mankind, but in the end it is the same: Jews are God’s chosen race; all other races are not.

Further, if you read the bible, Moses and Joshua were not merely war leaders, but both genocidal meglomaniacs: Deut. 2:34, 3:6, among 10-15 other citations. Jews revere their committer of genocide, Moses (and Joshua); but when they are the victims, it is a matter for world self-flagellation.

    • proreason says:

You are a nut and a virulent anti-semite of the highest order.

Go somewhere else to spread your bile.

Admire Akmanutjob on a website where your insane rantings will be appreciated.

    • BatK says:

      Let’s start with Biblical truths…

      1. The Jews were “chosen”, according to Deut 7:4-11, to be a light to the world that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob IS God. He says that HE chose them, not because they were so awesome, but because they were the smallest, weakest, etc on the planet and He would show HIS greatness through them. Nowhere does the Bible talk about the Jews being BETTER than any other people… they were simply CHOSEN to show the world He is God. . It’s not an issue of anything being “spun.” There are also blessings, repeatedly stated throughout the Old Testament, for those who are not born Jewish, but worship the God of Israel. Ruth is a fantastic example. Rahab was a former prostitute from the city of Jericho, yet is mentioned in the lineage of Jesus. Your view of Judaism is completely incorrect and based on your own assumptions, rather than anything actually found in the Bible.

      2. Again, re-read your Scripture as to WHY the nations that resided in Canaan were booted from the Land. The Land of Israel is GOD’S Holy Land. The Lord spoke to Moses, telling him that because of the sin of the current inhabitants (Canaanites), THE LAND would vomit out its inhabitants (Leviticus 18:24-30).

Why? The Canaanites routinely sacrificed children to their gods (forcing them to walk through fire being a popular choice) and committed all kinds of cult prostitution (male and female) among other things. Some of their gods included Molech, Ba’al, Kemosh, and Asherah. When the children of Israel later took on the pagan practices of their neighbors and did the SAME THINGS, they too were booted out of the Land, the Northern Kingdom taken by Assyria in 722 BC, and the Southern Kingdom by the Babylonians in 586 BC. The Jews were not exempt from being kicked out God’s Holy Land simply because they were Jews.

The Jewish people (unlike any other people group of their day) believed in ONE God, rather than a pantheon of pagan deities. They were called to be separate (Hebrew:”kadosh, meaning “holy”) so that the world would see something different about them, how they worshiped, and that THEIR God was different than the gods of the Canaanities. This has not changed in the New Testament, where believers are also called to be “in the world, but not of it” and countless places in Scripture where the Lord says, “You are to be holy for I am holy.”

      3. Your depiction of Moses and Joshua as “genocidal melomaniacs” is absurd considering what the Bible says about Moses in Numbers 12:3: “Now this man Moses was very humble, more so than anyone on earth.” Deuteronomy 31 talks about Joshua having the “Spirit of wisdom.”

  16. wirenut says:

TTS . If we moved all of Israel to Texas , I feel Amadinejad would lay claim to Oklahoma and start threatening . Its not the land its the people . Why split hairs over who was put to death by a corrupt reageme? Or who would be put to death by another . Millions died for only one reason , they were themselves . Any excuse will serve a tyrant .

  17. The Truth Seeker says:

    BatK …

Do you have a Biblical citation or other proof that Canaanites sacrificed children to their gods?

There is widespread prostitution amongst Jews (and Arabs) on every street corner of Tel Aviv as we write; ohhhhh.

I’m turning in for the night, but your excuse of Moses and Joshua is pathological. If I may summarize your rationale, Moses and Joshua were justified in their premeditated genocidal slaughter of men, women, and children because their fellow Jews thought well of them and/or because SOME Canaanites were ALLEGEDLY child-sacrificers and/or because God said they could.

That Moses and Joshua commited genocide is de facto proof that by “chosen” in the Bible it is meant “better.” Or, is that what we are to determine the “light of the world” is meant to instruct the world, i.e., how to strangle babies in their cribs? Vomit out means eject; not murder.

I note in passing that all of this genocide occurs AFTER the ten commandments are handed down, including thou shalt not murder. It’s so warped. Thomas Paine and others have written far more conclusively than I might as to the absurdities and contradictions of the Bible. It’s great literature, but it would not seem not per se, God’s word. Only the self-interested (Jews and Christians) could think it so.

Further, the same justification for the genocide of the 5 million Jews (and 8 million non-Jews) applies to Hitler were one to make the case. Many Nazis had glowing reviews of Hitler and his inner circle; and the Nazis, too, felt they had occult justification. Further, certainly every adult Jew slaughtered in the Holocaust was a sinner against God in one way or another. I write here ironically to point out the absurdity of your rationale.

Consider this: if indeed the God of Abraham is the God of the Universe, then he must have wanted Hitler to do as he did as a means to teach his chosen people a lesson – presumably. I personally find this understanding troubling, but it is the only one consistent with Judaism’s central theme as manifested in the Bible. Throughout, all hardship agains the Jews was God’s will (wrath). It would imply that so too was Nazi Germany. But somehow Jews rationalize around this as if this one historical event was not God’s will.

    Wirenut …

You are wrong, it is the land not the people. Iran would not care about Jews if Jews had not displaced Muslims from Palestine in the 20th century. Amadinejad has never called for the erradication of the Jews, but rather of the State of Israel. He’s reprehensible enough correctly drawn. By engaging in hyperbole, you are, in my eyes, de-legitimizing your cause.

To be fair, Moses and Joshua also killed entire nations of people for merely being themselves. Moses is a Jewish hero, Hitler a war criminal. Hmmmm ….

PS I’m not anti-Jews. I have my criticisms of Judaism (and Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.), but I hope Jews who are righteous live well and prosper; as I hope for all people(s). I’m anti-hypocrisy.

  18. BatK says:

As far as Biblical proofs, it’s cited numerous places throughout the Old Testament, and in fact, when the Lord reproves his own people, he mentions how they followed the customs of their neighbors, committing the same abominations, child sacrifice listed among them. You can also do your own research on these ancient religions and see that for yourself.

You missed my entire point earlier regarding the LAND of Israel. The Lord repeatedly told the Israelites WHY they were displacing the nations in the land – their OWN abominations were causing their OWN punishment. Again, not because the Jews were so great, but because the sins of the people were so great. Sodom and Gemorrah are another example of GOD HIMSELF removing the people from the Land of Israel because of their sin (and this was waaaay before the 10 commandments). Take a look at Noah and the flood. Same thing. The wickedness of mankind caused them to be destroyed. The Jews were also punished for their idolatry at the hands of the Assyrians and Babylonians. Why aren’t you calling Nebuchadnezzar a genocidal maniac? Or Nero? Your logic is flawed.

As far as prostitution, specifically what we are talking about were orgies in the temples of these pagan gods. People having sex with one another as an offering to the god, or in fact, as if the temple prostitute were the god him/herself. Are Israelis perfect? No. Is anybody? No. However, I can guarantee you that an Israeli prostitute is not doing it to bring glory to Asherah or some other fertility goddess.

You seem to take great delight in maligning the Jewish people with one breath and then exonerating yourself from Anti-Semitism with the other. As the book of James says, fresh and salt water do not flow from the same spring. I would challenge you to start in Genesis and keep reading for yourself WITHOUT the commentary. If you are so convinced that your views are correct, ask the God of Israel, the God that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob worshiped, to reveal Himself to you and show you what is true and what isn’t. Read the Bible IN CONTEXT and without someone else’s interpretation. You might just be surprised. If you think you “don’t need to” or “already have,” I’d challenge you to give it another try. Read. And then keep reading.

    • jobeth says:

Does my heart good to see respect for the wholeness of Biblical truth. Your answers were right on track.

    • The Truth Seeker says:

There must have been 10-15 city-states (nations) upon which Moses and Joshua committed genocide.

E.g., Deut 2:34: And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain.

I looked up malign in the dictionary and it implies falsehood; I raise accurate points that undermine the ethical highground that Zionists and religious fundamentalist would take vis-a-vis Amadinejad (and Hitler) and Iran (and Nazi Germany). Quite the contrary, you seem to delight in maligning Iran, Amadinejad, and muslims – accusing them of acts that are beyond the pale in some way when they are like-kind responses to acts committed against them.

[It seems BatK and Jobeth are basically fundamentalists; hey, I’m not, but I imagine you two are fine people if you walk what you talk … my aunt was a nun and my uncle a priest … they were among the best of folk ever.]

Nero et al. have not come up; they are murderers, but perhaps ethnic cleansers, religious persecutors, or some-such rather than genociders is more apt.

If your LORD slaughters children in their cribs for the sins of their parents as was the fate of Canaanite [and Egyptian] children at the hands of Moses (or wipes out Gomorrah’s children), then his powers however great are clumsy and imprecise and his punishment all too familiarly vicious; and that LORD has first and foremost my skepticism … and moreover my criticism. You would have us ignore the whole Bible for it’s ethical highlights … I would not.

Note, your views compel you to accept that the Holocaust of the Jews and non-Jews by the Nazis was pro-actively the LORD’s will. That is in keeping with your faith, no?

But if you’d like to embrace your Biblical worldview, then all is in the LORD’s hands and mankind’s future is assured. Great, I could use some help … er, uh, is irony allowed on this website. Silliness aside, I am a man of faith. I’m convinced there is wisdom in the Bible but the Bible is neither whole nor truth, merely guidance toward the truth among other forms of guidance. If I’m wrong, it’s not because I’m malicious, but stupid … OK. I’ll proceed in any case.

    • BatK says:

Sounds like you are pretty convinced of your opinions and rather than seeking “Truth,” you just want to disprove anyone who disagrees with you. To respond further to any of your assertions is a waste of my time and yours. The Bible and Jesus speak clearly of their inerrant authority and TRUTH. The Bible states clearly that the Word of God IS authoritative, and the measure by which He judges His people and the world. Jesus very clearly calls himself, “THE way, THE truth, and THE life.”

Again, you need to read the Biblical accounts you reference within their full context. I am not debating any further than this.

    • The Truth Seeker says:

      BatK ….

We simply disagree … I state forthrightly that the Bible is not authoritative; you state that it is. I don’t believe Jesus is the way, the truth, or the life; whilst I admire him whatever his essence.

If your evidence for your correctness is the perfect authority of the Bible, it does not persuade me.

Note: you also have not explained how the Ten Commandments occurred before the Holocaust of the Canaanites by Moses and Joshua. That is a contradiction; how can truth contradict itself?

But if you believe the LORD controls all, then you must concede, to be consistent, that the LORD caused the Holocaust of the Jews and non-Jews in the 20th century; that the LORD slaughtered those 13 milion people (and caused the death of 60 million total in WW II), and not Hitler and the Nazis per se (they being divine instruments). More that the LORD is the cause of human suffering – poverty and misery.

What is a bit deranged is that when good happens, especially for your cause, you think it is the LORD’s will; when bad happens you’d rather discuss something else.

Essential to finding truth is considering the rightness and wrongness of others; so finding you wrong is essential to my quest. And you are wrong … somehow you know it to be so … I can tell from your posts.

  19. The Truth Seeker says:

Note: I am a critic of Judaism; that does not make me a racist. Religion ought to be critically evaluated … more so than other aspects of humanity, it being so important. I don’t find semetic people anything other than neutral racially, neither inferior or superior.

I said I was done discussing it with you and, and I am. Don’t presume to speak on my behalf or “know” what I am thinking. It’s incredibly presumptuous and rude.
