Al Qaeda Put Bombs In Dogs Sent To US

From the New York Post:

Failed Al Qaeda plot involved sewing bombs inside dogs

See Spot explode!

Al Qaeda operatives in Iraq tried to unleash deadly terror in the skies by deploying a pair of kamikaze canines on a US-bound plane, a French newspaper reports.

The diabolical plot failed because the bombs were so badly stitched inside the poor pooches that they died, said the respected Paris daily Le Figaro.

"This case illustrates the determination of al Qaeda militants, who are trying to circumvent terrorism controls by any means," French criminologist Christophe Naudin, an aviation security expert, told the newspaper.

The plot unfolded two years ago, when al Qaeda bomb makers grabbed the two stray dogs off the street and surgically implanted powerful explosives and detonators in each.

The dogs were then placed in kennel carriers and sent to the Baghdad airport for a flight to the US. Le Figaro didn’t say what city they were headed for.

It’s not unusual for dogs to fly from Iraq to the US. Several animal-rescue groups work to give Iraqi dogs new US homes, and US soldiers have also adopted pooches there.

It’s believed al Qaeda planned for the dogs to explode in flight.

But before the dogs were put aboard their plane, US soldiers working in the airport’s cargo area noticed they had died — and soon discovered the bombs stitched inside them.

US intelligence agencies shared the story of the dogs’ cruel fate with other Western spy agencies and distributed necropsy photos of the dogs and bombs to aviation security professionals, Le Figaro said.

Also, the International Civil Aviation Organization alerted security agencies around the world of the possibility of kamikaze canine attacks…

Yet another contribution to the advancement of science from our Muslim friends.

Smoke rises from the site of a cargo plane crash in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Sept. 3.

Haroldnet: We downed UPS 747, Al-Qaida says
    Nov 6, 2010

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — The head of the United Arab Emirates’ civil aviation authority said Saturday investigators do not believe an explosion caused the September crash of a UPS cargo jet in Dubai but are taking seriously a claim by Yemen’s al-Qaida group that it brought down the plane.

Saif al-Suwaidi, director general of the General Civil Aviation Authority said that while terrorism is not believed to be behind the crash, authorities are looking at all possible causes.

Asked if that included the possibility of a bomb that failed to detonate properly or another device sent to deliberately cause damage, al-Suwaidi said: “Everything is possible. We are revisiting everything.”

He reiterated that there is no evidence of an onboard explosion in the Sept. 3 crash, which killed the two pilots.

Yemen’s al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula claimed responsibility Friday for the crash of the UPS cargo plane and last week’s international mail bomb plot.

In the September crash, a fire onboard the three-year-old Boeing 747-400 cargo plane prompted the pilots to turn back to Dubai shortly after takeoff as the cockpit filled with smoke.

The cause of the fire is unknown. The plane crashed into a military base after attempting to make an emergency landing.

The probe has been focused on determining whether the fire was caused by a technical malfunction or flammable cargo such as lithium batteries that power electronic gadgets such as cameras, cell phones and laptop computers.

The Emirates is leading the probe with help from the U.S. and the plane’s manufacturer, Boeing Co.

Al-Suwaidi would not provide details of the new measures. But he defended the country’s aviation security as “the highest maybe in the world,” and said it was sufficient to keep travelers and crew safe.

“…. batteries that power electronic gadgets such as cameras, cell phones and laptop computers.”

we learned a year ago, the terrorists are putting that beauty salon hair chemical into the batteries, then into the cameras etc. I think knowledge of “incidents” will be more covered up in the future. It’s not a matter of stirring hate towards muslims, though these are claiming the downing of a plane. It’s so people aren’t afraid to fly. They don’t want people “nervous”.

Maybe if they didn’t think of dogs as “unclean”, they would have been more careful.
Then again, they would have had trouble using another living creature as a sacrificial weapon if they actually cared for life in general.

  3. beautyofreason says:

It takes a sick person to kill another human being. I’m an animal lover so it’s also disgusting to see dogs abused in this way.

I think the image showing the aftermath of a suicide bombing should be posted on every news organization out there. The picture was on this website a couple days ago; it showed a man mopping up a wave of blood on a mosque floor in Pakistan after 50 people were killed. For me the image shows that Islam is eating itself from the inside out. It’s a political belief system submerged in blood lust and infighting. And nothing will change until people around the world can criticize it in the open without fear of hate speech or Islamic law.

Wll, Muslims do seem to be exceptional at one thing.
