Grayson (D-FL) Is Now Accusing His Wife Of Bigamy

From Fox News:

Florida Rep. Alan Grayson calls wife bigamist, asks court to annul 24-year marriage

May 01, 2014

… The Florida Democrat, who was accused by his estranged wife of assault, filed court documents last week asking that their 24-year marriage be annulled. Grayson claimed in a countersuit that Lolita Grayson hoodwinked him into getting married even though she was secretly married to another man at the time.

Mr. Grayson must not be very smart if he is so easily ‘hoodwinked’ into marrying a married woman, and living with her for 14 years.

The documents, filed in 9th Circuit Court in Orange County, Fla., refer to the couple’s union as “a bigamous marriage.” “Unbeknownst to Mr. Grayson, Ms. Grayson was married and remained married to another man …up to and after the parties conducted an apparent marriage ceremony on April 28, 1990,” according to the filing.

"Up to and after the parties conducted an apparent marriage ceremony on April 28, 1990”? So Grayson and his lawyers aren’t sure whether it was a marriage ceremony?

Grayson claimed his wife “secretly participated” in a divorce from her first husband, Robert Carson, four years after she married the Florida congressman.

We’re going to need a flow chart.

The new court filing also accused Lolita Grayson of defamation, libel, slander and abuse of process stemming from a March 1 confrontation at the house the Graysons shared.

During that incident, Lolita Grayson claimed her husband pushed her “very hard” against the front door, according to a police report. It also stated that in order to protect herself, she pushed him back and kneed him in the stomach before calling authorities.

Soon after, Alan Grayson released a cellphone video of the altercation that he claimed shows it was his wife who escalated the fight.

He pulled out a cellphone to record her attacking him? That was quick thinking.

In the new filing, Alan Grayson argued that he should be awarded custody of their five children and that his wife be ordered to pay him back for “all of the money and property she has received” during their “purported” marriage. Among other things, he is also asking the court for $15,000 in damages as well as exclusive use of the family’s home and their 1981 DeLorean.

So Grayson is also demanding $15,000 in damages from his estranged ‘wife,’ even though, according to Roll Call, based on financial disclosure forms from 2010, Grayson’s net worth is over $31.41 million?

Now that is a classy guy.

I’m not buying the “I didn’t know she was married to another man” part. Yes, I too will need to see that flow chart…LOL

5 children? Who let these people reproduce? On a side note, are there not any normal people in the public anymore?

I guess that’s what Grayson gets for marrying a mail order bride from the Philippines.

Can anyone blame her after he fell victim to two separate money fraud schemes.
    I think Florida is a 50/50 state.

A Democratic Congressman Lost $18 Million In An Investment Fraud Scheme

    By Brett Logiurato – Dec. 9, 2013

The AP details how it worked (or was supposed to):…

Grayson’s spokesperson explained how he fell victim:

“It’s my understanding that the congressman’s investment portfolio performed exceedingly well. But when it came time for the defendant to pay what the congressman had earned, he didn’t….”

Court papers reviewed by Business Insider indicate no wrongdoing on Grayson’s part, signaling that he was an unknowing victim of the scheme.

This isn’t the first time that Grayson has fallen victim to a fraud scheme.

In 2009, he won a $34 million judgment against a company called Derivium Capital, which ran a version of a Ponzi scheme against him and other investors.

Grayson is consistently among the Top 25 wealthiest members of Congress, ranking 21st on this year’s list from Roll Call.
