Media’s Loathing Of Ann Coulter Exposed Again
From some leftwing agit-prop giveaway which calls itself the Alaska Report:
Ann Coulter’s bigotry exposed once again
March 4, 2007
Washington, D.C. - Prominent politicians from both parties and a gay-rights group on Saturday condemned right-wing commentator Ann Coulter for her reference Friday to Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards as a “faggot.”
Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference before a crowd on Friday, Coulter said, “I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word ‘faggot,’ so I — so kind of an impasse, can’t really talk about Edwards.”
“Ann Coulter’s use of an anti-gay slur yesterday was un-American and indefensible,” Edwards said in a posting on his Web site, www.johnedwards.com.
“In America, we strive for equality and embrace diversity. The kind of hateful language she used has no place in political debate or our society at large.”
“I believe it is our moral responsibility to speak out against that kind of bigotry and prejudice every time we encounter it.”
Edwards’s campaign posted the video on their Web site, and asked readers to help them “raise $100,000 in ‘Coulter Cash’ this week to keep this campaign charging ahead and fight back against the politics of bigotry.”
Bigotry? For making a joke about an actor going into rehab?
As usual, Alaska Report and the rest of our media watchdogs are proving Ms. Coulter’s point in spades. (If I am permitted to say that.)
And, yes, the distorted picture of Ann is from Alaska Reports.
Please note this self-same smugly self-righteous publication features in this same issue an article from Bill “Dick Cheney should have been assassinated” Maher on their front page:
Indeed, it’s a two-fer, since they are also promoting the Huffington Post, which famously bemoaned the failure of the Al Qaeda plot to kill Mr. Cheney.
You see, making a joke about going into rehab for using a word is a hate crime.
But wishing death upon a twice elected Vice President of the United States isn’t.
Meanwhile, if you are looking for a way to strike back:
This is a link to Amazon, which has all of Ms. Coulter’s books, if you already have this one. And of course they make great gifts as well.
Also, by using this link, S&L gets back a modest kickback of two or three cents per purchase. So it is a win-win all around.
