This is a good sign for Iraq on many fronts.

Of course all throughout history women have been the real civilizing force in the world.

The right to bear arms will not be infringed.

This is good news, the Iraqi’s becoming more self sufficient each and every day.

Just one question; how can you tell the women are police officers? Is it the black burkha?

GM, that is the secret of the success of this program - imagine not knowing which burkha is hiding the PO and which is just the girl next door. Might just give a terrorist a moment of pause - most especially after the first one is shot dead by one of these ladies.

I can hear the muttering now inside the mosques in Iran - Damn we should have taken that secular Saddam out - we’d be ‘best friends’ with the US and we wouldn’t have these woman running around with guns. What are they thinking, next they will be given drivers license. And then how can we keep our women under control, best start Koran readings 24/7 so that no news leaks into the country. We can’t have our women thinking that they can be anything other than broodmares.

Help Iraq and help destablize the other radical terrorist formenting regimes - what a great idea. A revolution is can be so much better than a War - most especially when it is dragging a 3rd century ideology into the 21st century.

I assume this gives new meaning to the term “undercover” police work, at least in Iraq. ;o)

Field stripping a rifle while dressed in a daffah and thobe (gown and headdress… as per ‘google’) must be quite a challenge and I give these ladies credit. I was happy when my Mom threw over-hand…..

This culture continues to baffle me…. A woman can’t expose any part of her body in public; yet slinging an AK-47 with a banana clip appears quite acceptable.
I guess when noted that such public functions as a police academy graduation requires being guarded with a belt fed machine gun……. Having something to pack along to the post-graduation luncheon only makes sense (?)……..
