AP Cheers: Obama-Care Sign-Ups Hit 7 Million!

From a walking on air Associated Press:

AP sources: Health law sign-ups on track to hit 7M

By RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR and JOSH LEDERMAN | April 1, 2014

WASHINGTON (AP) — Beating expectations, President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul was on track to sign up more than 7 million Americans for health insurance on deadline day Monday, government officials told The Associated Press.

"Beating expectations" and "on track." And we are supposed to believe that the AP is an objective news organization. And we are supposed to believe these numbers.

The 7 million target, thought to be out of reach by most experts, was in sight on a day that saw surging consumer interest as well as vexing computer glitches that slowed sign-ups on the HealthCare.gov website.

Two government officials confirmed the milestone, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter ahead of an official announcement

And because they don’t want to be exposed as professional shills when this 7 million number is no longer operative.

The White House and other supporters of the law were hoping for an enrollment surge that would confound skeptics…

By the way, just two weeks ago we were told there were only 5 million sign-ups. So we are supposed to believe that there were 2 million sign-ups in just the last two weeks. Does anyone really believe that?

Unemployment is 7%, inflation is less than 1%, and Mugabe-care has signed up 7 million. Wanna buy a bridge?

Even if we take it at face value, what is the cost of insuring these 7 million people? Billions. I wonder how the US economy would look if nerobama et al had spent the last 5 years and an equivalent amount of energy pursuing job-creating policies.

  2. If 7 million sign ups were hit, that’s gonna seriously clog up Emergency Rooms.

Casey Jones was ‘beating expectations’ and was ‘on track’ just before…
