The fear is we’ll go the way of Europe, or Canada, where so much as thinking negative thoughts about gays will land the police at your door investigating you for hate crimes. Or get you fired from your job.

The fear is that while gays will enjoy the “equality” of marriage, the rest of us will no longer enjoy equality under the First Amendment. Our beliefs, our churches, our opinions will be targets for criminalization and prosecution. It is happening every where else; only a fool wouldn’t believe it won’t happen here.

The conservatives in the legislature got the last laugh however.

Even though Howie Dean had rammed this through, they’d snuck in a provision that to dissolve a civil union, you both had to first establish residency which required living here an entire year before you could get your divorce.

You should have heard the howls when the happy couples found out about this. I remember a few of them proclaiming that they would just split, after all this wasn’t legal or anything. It’s amazing how when they got it they all declared they were good as married but when it didn’t suit them anymore, the civil union was just an inconvenience.

Marriage after all is between a man and woman. Like I told one of the happy couples, it’s Mom and Dad, not Tom and Brad.

I’m, for one, am not afraid… whether you judge it Biblically or evolutionarily, homosexuality is a dead end. Literally unable to reproduce themselves without consent of others. Consent they’re obviously not getting.

I’m 26 and conservative, like Holman. I would vote against gay marriage. They already have the ‘right’ to civil unions in most places, that gives them equality under the law. By trying to force marriage, they’re trying to get equality under society, religion, and personal opinion. It doesn’t work that way.

I have a few friends who are homosexual. As a Christian, I love them and I pray for them. Old Testament laws were mostly given to protect us from ourselves.

Well, the people are not telling them who to love…we’re telling them that marriage is between a man and a woman. Should be simple to understand even for homosexuals. But of course, same sex marriage isn’t about “equality” it’s about forcing society to legitimize an unholy and unnatural physical union.

He can’t even get to the point of looking for somebody diseased enough to consider him as a potential sodomizee.

But I wonder….has he ever met Drooling Barney?

It seems like a match made in hell heaven.
