Lots of opportunity for wit here, but seriously...
Do you actually believe for one moment that white collar professional women, concientious mothers and college honor students are flocking to the strip clubs for work? It's more likely more of the continous media attempts to legitimize the sex trade as some sort of "normal" or "acceptable" activity. The reality of that business is very far from the media narratives about the "stripper with a heart of gold," or the all too familiar, "loving single mother, pole dancing her way out of poverty."
I drove cab for a while in larger Mid-Atlantic city and took a lot of calls from "gentleman's" clubs. Almost without exception, the girls involved in that "work" are physically abused, drug or alcohol addicted or psychologically damaged from previous abuse. Almost all were under the control of a man (sometimes a butch woman) to whom they paid a substantial part of their take. (This person is usually reffered to as a "bodyguard." More accurate, if indelicate, is the term "pimp.") I've seen these girls take beatings from these "caretakers" for withholding some of their tips. The amount of money to be made is inflated as well, as the only girls who make the really big money are the ones that "trick" as well as dance.
So these kinds of stories should cause you to think: How many upright, together women do you know that would involve themselves in this kind of business? Likely not many. So why then the constant media push to "normalize" the sex trades? And why do the reporters repeatedly ignore the well documented truths about this lifestyle in favor of the "independent, savvy woman usin' what she got to make her way in this cruel world" narrative?

Women moving to the sex-trade is a dying canary in the mine. It may seem funny to some, but it's a terrible trend that portends catastrophe for a society. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and if this new trend doesn't scream out that truth, nothing does. It's a sad life for those contemplating such action. But where's the outrage? Where's the warning?

Eventually, as our economy worsens and when fewer cabaret customers can afford to gawk and grab, many of the 'ladies' married to the materialism of better times, will be forced to take the next logical step. Some will be able to return to some sense of normalcy, but many will quickly fall into a scary and lonely place.

It will pay well through the short years of their physical prime, but the price will quickly decline in direct proportion to their declining bodies. As they once laughed at the customers that couldn't afford them, they will scorn the ridicule, but accept what they can get, from the same. That's when they'll realize it was a fool's paradise and they've wasted the blessing of their beauty on men they will learn to hate.

If they were smart enough to save their money instead of 'invest' it in short-term mind-numbing pharmaceuticals, they may be able to stop when it gets really bad. Unfortunately, the allure of momentary escape from the conscience is too great and their lives become less and less valuable.

Lives wasted and lost for the idea of 'easy' money that is anything but easy when it's all said and done. A society that loses it's women loses it's way.

We've always had those that chose that path but it has never been considered a good thing or been thought a rational path. The fact that the story doesn't mention any of the pitfalls seems telling of the depths of our decline.

Well, there are 17 open positions in Treasury that The Moron has been too busy to fill (what with updating his NCAA brackets, picking out a dog, and running up his frequent flyer miles).

Since he clearly believes all citizens are equal, given that they should all receive equal benefits, why doesn't he appoint some unemployed dancers to the the Treasury positions?

Since they have actual real-world experience, they would be a BIG improvement over what we have in that department today.

<blockquote>"I have job security,</blockquote>
She just proved how damn stupid she is - she gets old, fat and/or if she 'refuses' a client- see how long that 'job security' lasts .

<blockquote>can make $100,000 to $300,000 a year — in cash</blockquote> I can't decide if Mr. Priaulx (or Rick's) is in need of new girls or just blowing their own horn (i.e. in need of customers) - besides who cares since probably 90% of the girls blow that on drugs.

Where are the feminazis to scream about this enslavement of and degradation of women? They are deathly silent because another supporter of abortion uber alles is in the WH, so they know their beloved Roe v Wade isn't going to be overturned for another 4 years. . .And that's all that matters.

Yowza. $100,000 to $300,000?

Good thing Obama is rolling out the White House Council on Women and Girls. Somebody has to stop all that oppression.

(Just kidding. I wish I were oppressed.)
