AP ‘Fact Checks’ Obama And Biden Speeches

From the Associated Press:

FACT CHECK: Obama and the phantom peace dividend

By TOM RAUM and CALVIN WOODWARD | Friday Sept 7, 2012

WASHINGTON (AP) — … A look at some of [Obama's and Biden's] assertions:

OBAMA: "I’ll use the money we’re no longer spending on war to pay down our debt and put more people back to work – rebuilding roads and bridges, schools and runways. After two wars that have cost us thousands of lives and over a trillion dollars, it’s time to do some nation-building right here at home."

THE FACTS: The idea of taking war savings to pay for other programs is budgetary sleight of hand, given that the wars were paid for with increased debt. Obama can essentially "pay down our debt," as he said, by borrowing less now that war is ending. But he still must borrow to do the extra "nation-building" he envisions

And the savings appear to be based at least in part on inflated war spending estimates for future years…

In other words, Obama intends to borrow money to pay for the money we’ve borrowed.

But notice that the AP fails to spell out that no one projected the Iraq and Afghanistan wars would go on for another ten years. So they were never part of any real budget. So there cannot be any peace dividend like there was with the (supposed) end of the Cold War.

OBAMA: "We can help big factories and small businesses double their exports, and if we choose this path, we can create a million new manufacturing jobs in the next four years."

THE FACTS: Obama has claimed an increase of some 500,000 manufacturing jobs over the past 29 months[But] from the beginning of Obama’s term 3 1/2 years ago, manufacturing jobs have declined by more than 500,000, according to the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics

In other words Obama is claiming he increased manufacturing jobs by 500,000 when in fact manufacturing jobs declined by 500,000 under his administration. So this is quite a whopper, even by Obama’s standards.

And the Bureau Of Labor Statistics’ jobs report, which was just released today, says the manufacturing sector lost another 15,000 jobs last month.

OBAMA: "And now you have a choice: We can give more tax breaks to corporations that ship jobs overseas or we can start rewarding companies that open new plants and train new workers and create new jobs here in the United States of America."

BIDEN: "Gov. Romney believes that in the global economy, it doesn’t much matter where American companies put their money or where they create jobs. As a matter of fact, he has a new tax proposal – the territorial tax – that experts say will create 800,000 jobs, all of them overseas."

THE FACTS: Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s proposal is actually aimed at encouraging investment in the U.S., not overseas…

Biden’s implication that Romney’s plan sends jobs abroad is not supported by the expert opinion he cites…

And Joe Biden is the intellect of the Democrat Party.

BIDEN: "After the worst job loss since the Great Depression, we’ve created 4.5 million private sector jobs in the past 29 months."

THE FACTS: This seems to be a favorite statistic, because many speakers at the convention cited it. But it’s misleading – a figure that counts jobs from when the recession reached its trough and employment began to grow again. It excludes jobs lost earlier in Obama’s term, and masks the fact that joblessness overall has risen over Obama’s term so far…

So, in reality, not matter how you slice it fewer people are working today than there were working when Obama took office. Which is the really the bottom line.

Never since World War II has the economy been so slow to recover all the jobs lost in a downturn.

What a shocking admission from the AP. But in fact, they should have said not since the Great Depression.

And, in fact, some argue that it is the worst recovery in all of American history, including the Great Depression.

It was purely intentional for the DNC to play the Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, yet telling Israel they must allow anyone to enter their capital. Flip flopping John Kerry compensated with remarks taken right out of Obama’s 2006 book, only expressing further sympathy for the Palestine which is not even a country.

Israel is now dealing with what they call the Palestinian Spring as the Palestinians have taken to the street
protesting the U.S. at a time when Israel is already dodging an increase of rockets being fired on them.

Obama’s murder by proxy. His underplaying the Holocaust growing up compared to being a black man in the U.S. to his choosing an anti-Jew anti-White former Muslim the Reverend Jeremiah Wright to his be his pastor. Wright’s warning and self-admittance to Obama that an association in his church could harm Obama’s future organizing turned to be untrue. While Obama wrote of his former Organizers he worked for and with began to distance themselves, especially after Obama partnered with a Muslim convicted gang banger who bragged he was the leader of a black mafia style. Obama left the former gang banger with a newer bigger office before departing for Hartford promising he intended to come back to Chicago. And he kept his promise.

Obama’s teachings at the University of Chicago where even a part time Professors was entitled to the University’s free day care and schooling for their children making it a cush job to futher his own ambitions.

Obama taught his students if people believed the sky was falling they would prepare for the end.

This explains Obama’s scaring the hell out of American’s that the country was headed for ruins and it was not his fault. Stores emptied. Employees lost their jobs. People stopped paying their mortgages.
Obama led the people of the U.S. into a mentality of doom and poverty.
Obama put the U.S. deficient to close to 17 Trillion dollars in order to increase taxes.
