AP Finally Realizes Obama-Care Is Complicated

From a suddenly awoken Associated Press:

AP Exclusive: Applying for health care not easy

WASHINGTON (AP) — Applying for benefits under President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul could be as daunting as doing your taxes.

The government’s draft application is now on the Internet. It runs 15 pages for a three-person family. The online version has 21 steps, some with added questions.

At least three major federal agencies, including the IRS, will scrutinize your application.

That’s just the first part of the process, which lets you know if you qualify for financial help.

You’d still have to pick a health plan.

Some fear that consumers will be overwhelmed and give up. Administration officials say the application form is being refined.

Still, the idea that picking a health insurance plan could be as simple as shopping on the Internet is starting to look like wishful thinking.

The hell you say! But this is all news to the AP at this late date? We thought they were supposed to be in the news business.

Moreover, this is their entire article. Isn’t it helpful and informative?

In fact, Obama-Care is now more than 20,000 pages long, and they’re still writing more rules. And it takes 60 online pages just to describe what it is supposed to do.

Here is a photo of the current incarnation of the beast, courtesy of Senator Mitch McConnell’s office:

What could possibly go wrong?

The bitter fruits of ignorance are what we’ll will be eating for many years. Whether it’s fatal or not remains to be seen.

It was crypto-Marxist ‘progressives’ – from both parties – who planted and nourished this rotten tree of chaos, strife, and poverty. It will choke out everything else until it’s pulled up, root and branch.

Do the hundreds of millions of Americans who have been told their work hours have been cut to 29 hours a week or less have to fill out the forms?

At least there is finally a question that Americans can answer more clear than

    “How’s the weather there?”
“4 and 1/8 inches of snow and it’s from global warming”

“Has your job cut your hours below 30 hours a week?”
“groan…..yes. But, they did it to everyone”

“Do you know why your employer cut everyone’s work hours?”

    My favorite answer is
“uh. um. my boss said it makes the government happier”

And it’s happening in small Private Medical Practices who do not have 50 employees, by cutting hours, half days, closing a week day during the week, clocking out for 2 hours, Doctors doing their own reception work”

So much for the pursuit of happiness.

The real reason Bloomberg is trying to ban “Big Gulps” is so people can’t save and they will have to buy two sodas without the discount and pay more taxes.

ObamaHealthCare includes steps to register to vote while answering questions. Just squeezed in an unrelated sect. of this 61 page appendix. Also, irrelevant or relevant on page 59 is a random question if you have “used tobacco in the last 12 months”. What? No questions on weight, heart conditions, diabetes?

The questions all have links to go to other links to complete. These applications very well may take months to complete and the cost a fortune for enough employees to check such enormous individual profiles.

Question ? :Which of the above breaks down Arabs or Middle-Easterners. I heard Public or State Depts in Michigan have press #3 if you need someone who speaks Arabic service.

Question ? …”Following federal law, there’s no discrimination on the basis of care, color, national origin, sex, or disability. If you feel you’ve been discriminated against, you can file a
    complaint of discrimination (hyperlinked sentence)….”

They left out “religion” as a basis to be exempt. This was formerly an exemption, but I guess they took it off.

Question ? “Is the reason that non-citizen Spanish/Latinos can be exempt because it would cost too much money to translate it to Spanish?”

    • canary says:

I think this is more evidence non-citizens will be exempt from paying for Obama Care because they can claim people that don’t even live in the same house, or county. (?)

Sorry I did not delete all the upload thingies above post.

This sec of Appendix A would imply that non-citizens will be allowed free Obama care cost breaks

      one county.)
      12. (Display item for each individual selected in item 10.)
What was the date of the move?
      a. MM/DD/YYYY

(Question: Why would one applier or employee be able to exempt themselves based on non-citizens that don’t even live in the same home or County?)

Question: Any other appendixes of questions?

  4. canary says:

You can find more information on US Dept of Health & Human Services CMS Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services CCII) The Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight. This is a tiney portion of the translation services as the countries or languages are longer and give “oral” translations if they can’t read their own language.
