AP: The GOP’s Healthcare Scare Tactic

From an outraged Associated Press:

RNC Uses New Scare Tactic on Reform

Sunday, August 30, 2009

The Republican National Committee suggested in a recent fundraising appeal that Democrats might use an overhaul of the health-care system to deny medical treatment to Republicans.

A questionnaire accompanying the mailing says the government could check voting registration records, "prompting fears that GOP voters might be discriminated against for medical treatment in a Democrat-imposed health-care rationing system." It asks, "Does this possibility concern you?"

Katie Wright, a spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, said the question was "inartfully worded." She said people should be concerned about the possibility of government officials having access to personal financial and medical data…

The suggestion that Republicans might be singled out and denied care is included in a "Future of American Health Care Survey" containing 13 questions, most of which are critical of the Democratic health-care effort. The technique, referred to as a "push poll," is used by both political parties and is designed to spread negative information, not to sample public opinion.

Another question asks, "Do you believe it is justified to ration health care regardless of whether an individual has contributed to the cost of the treatment?" The survey is accompanied by a two-page letter signed by Michael S. Steele, chairman of the Republican National Committee. The letter accuses Democrats of "moving swiftly to bring European-style socialized medicine here" but makes no mention of the possibility that Republicans might be denied coverage.

Wright said she did not know who had crafted the wording of the survey questions and which GOP officials had signed off on it. She also said she did not initially know how many of the surveys were mailed or to whom….

Gosh, those Republicans are evil and hateful.

Why should they be allowed to get healthcare?

Apparently the only lies and scare tactics are those put out by Republicans.

Who could have imagined such opposition to the wishes of our benevolent rulers?

Luckily the dogged reporters of the AP are looking out for us.

If only they could turn the liars into the government for suitable punishment. Then things would be perfect.

Alas, it will be months before that apparatus is in place.

  2. MinnesotaRush says:

Yup! Those nasty GOP’rs. Runnin’ around screaming, “Health care crisis .. Health care crisis .. we’re doomed if we don’t do something .. hurry .. the sky is falling .. we gotta get this done .. crisis .. crisis!!!”

She said people should be concerned about the possibility of government officials having access to personal financial and medical data…

This is worded in the bill. The President (not congress) will know everyone’s finances and medical data.
They most certainly could check to see how your registered. This is the electronic records that Obama and his cronies want. He will hire his thugs to run this department. It’s reality

Alternative lifestyle groups are forever stating publicly that Republicans are trying to quash them as ‘groups’. If the Healthcare Czarists get ahold of my personal info including my internet activities, what’s to say I or my family won’t be scrutinized critically.

nothing. The bill also says it can dismiss private insurance companies, so it’s a lie, for Obama to say it won’t affect those who have insurance. It allows them to know your assets, etc. so I imagine it won’t even be equal charges. Some may have to pay more than others. It leaves Americans with no privacy rights in any form or fashion. It makes the Patriot Act a joke, compared to the Governments keeping taps on you. Ad the the civil military Obama wants to insure American’s safety, and his health care will need a technology army beyond anything imaginable. It’s total government control. I don’t know why anyone is feels socialism is to strong a word. It’s communism. Education will be decided by the government, and what work you must do, will be decided too. It takes a communist village. Search and seizure. The Supreme Court already ruled they can take your home and property for the welfare of the community. We are not looked at as human beings by the Obama camp. We are looked at, as numbers. Obama is not working for Americans. He is narrow-visioned, believes he is the most gifted human on earth, and is determined his will be done. ]
The health bill leaves all decision making to the President. Congress will not have a say so. It’s in the bill.

Take the underprivileged who get first come in working for free college. Nothing exempting criminals, drug addicts, so maybe they will run the technology. Oh what they could have.

I told my son, in preparation for the political arguements at school, to point out that not everyone is going to get free college as I told him in the first place, and also told him, that I wouldn’t trust the govt to even give the credits.
You can work ten years of volunteer work, to pay for your college, and ‘poof’ you might not get anything. What are you going to do, say “but, but…
Our children need to be educated, because once Obama wipes out the number of old people, we’ve got a generation that doesn’t even know what freedom in America is. And the politicans talking about America and the constitution is getting old hat. People need the facts. I just don’t think the media is reporting that part. No more little speeches. I keep seeing these health care facts appearing on my front page, and they are false. The democrats are adverstising on the internet.

It’s not enough to publish the bills.

The people need to demand an explanation of what every page means, in plain English.

Aside from the Health Bill monstrosity, our rulers have clearly demonstrated they cannot be trusted in any respect. And that goes for ALL of them

  5. canary says:

Obomi volunteer for college credits: but..but..I did volunteer work for ten years, and your telling me no college?

Obomi leader: ..hey..I got something better… get on the computer and pull up some ill Republicans, and choose which home you want. You’ll have the keys soon.

  6. “Democrats might use an overhaul of the health-care system to deny medical treatment to Republicans. ”

Hmm maybe they are catching on? I mean, I have hired experts to train me to read minds, and anytime someone THINKS about a public option while talking to me I cut em off.. no sale to them.. no way. nuh uh.. Can’t let THAT happen.

    yeesh..

  7. Please. It seems these morons are expecting people to be so stupid as to believe that this type of questioning is something new?

Besides it might be incumbent upon Democrats to explain why they are aghast at such tactics by the GOP when some of their kind are perpetuating garbage like this against Palin?

    http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2009/08/who-do-birthers-love.html

I am no Palin supporter but this wreaks loudly of the mad hypocrisy that the Left has grown very fond of displaying the past few decades. Especially when it comes to BO.

  8. canary says:

Pro, you are right it’s not enough. An extremely liberal person recently argued with me that there is no bill. It will be years before there’s a bill. This person is usually up on things and arguements. Finally, I told convinced her it’s not a myth, and that Congress and Senate will have no say so over running health care.

Someone help on this one, because she is usually on the up and up on liberal stuff, and I think the Democrats are all trying to make people think
    everything is myths.

I mentioned the new education bill, and how it’s loosely written, that minorities will get first chance at the volunteer jobs. She tells me, this was passed over 15 years ago. That she had a felony as an adult, and volunteered for Ameri-Corps and they paid for her college. She claims she got a degree in teaching, but doesn’t. Subbed before though.
So, I say that’s my point. Underprivileged, young adults, former criminals will get the volunteer jobs towards college.
So, if she is telling me the truth, why a new bill just like the one she said passed over 15 years ago?

  9. terika says:

Finally – they’ve put in writing what I was afraid (guess why?)

to think out loud. My “paranoia” has been substantiated.

    This is scary.

  10. terika says:

    “…there is no bill”…

then what, pray tell, is that 1,000+ page pile of pulp they’ve been trying to cram up our butts since before the August “recess” ??? This “alternate universe” thing is getting really annoying, libs!

  11. Reality Bytes says:

“DEFORM HEALTHCARE NOW! DEFORM HEALTHCARE NOW!”

Morons. It’s amazing they can wipe their own…

…with Obamacare, no matter how sick they get, they’re gonna have to.
