The "youths" of Greece are still at it.

From the BBC
Athens sees more violent clashes

Greek police have again clashed with demonstrators in Athens, two weeks after the fatal shooting of a teenager by police sparked nationwide unrest.

The violence followed a memorial gathering at the site where Alexandros Grigoropoulos died on 6 December.

Groups of demonstrators threw rocks and petrol bombs at police, who responded with volleys of tear gas.

Protests in Athens and other cities in the past fortnight over the police killing have often turned violent.

Greece's worst unrest in decades is fuelled by anger at high youth unemployment and unpopular government reforms.

The protests have caused hundreds of millions of euros in damage, rocking a conservative government that has a one-seat majority and trails the opposition in polls...

The policeman accused of shooting Alexandros Grigoropoulos has been charged with murder...

A group of youths attacked the Christmas tree in Syntagma Square in central Athens, tossing rubbish at it and attempting to set it on fire.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7794198.stm

So is it that every time there's an isolated fatal shooting by police we should overthrow a government? Or is it that overthrowing the government is the real motivation and the incident is just a convenient excuse?

Europe and the far east have always been like a giant powder keg looking for an ignition. And it doesn't take much of a spark to set things off. When my wife and I lived in Europe there were countless demonstrations for whatever reason the locals felt like protesting. The good thing was that most of it was kept from getting out of hand by the German police. Unlike their U.S. counterparts, the German police don't have their hands tied when it comes to dealing with lawbreakers. We often joked amongst ourselves that what we would call police brutality in the U.S. the Germans called it police tactics. Or as one of my colleagues bluntly stated, 'Never mess with the German Polizie, because they'll Rodney King your ass in a heartbeat.'

"Wise up, America, it’s going to happen here, too.."

Going to, already does.

"They want their free stuff and freedom from accountability for destroying others property, while imposing their political will over democracy"

Sounds familiar, something about California and a proposition comes to mind.

Just to think, Napoleon gained prominence for breaking up rioters by firing volleys of grapeshot into them. One stupid kid dies while causing enormous amounts of damage and rioting is blamed on this one act. Of course the death is a convenient excuse for the media. Since there was not any rioting before his death. Some evil policeman just shot him walking down the street?

Communists? In 1776? I don't think so.... But that was then...this is now. ....and democracy and freedom were rather radical concepts back then.

These people aren't outraged over the shooting of a teen, they're just using it as an excuse to raise Hell. You'd think that these protests across Europe, all socialist countries, wouldn't exist because the government provides everything for them. Too much of a slovenly (Welfare) society breeds discontent.

"Protesters, occupying high schools and universities, are demanding a reversal of public spending cuts, the resignation of the country’s interior minister and the release from custody of arrested riot suspects."

That's the money quote!
They want their free stuff and freedom from accountability for destroying others property, while imposing their political will over democracy

Leftists/commies/anarchists, et al, are never reluctant to hurt and kill innocent people, destroy property, and create anarchy so they can impose their political and personal will upon others who disagree with them. Wise up, America, it's going to happen here, too..
