AP Is Still Defending Obama Over Roanoke Speech

From the Associated Press:

In reversal, GOP puts Obama on defense for a bit

By CHARLES BABINGTON | July 25, 2012

WASHINGTON (AP) — Relentless GOP criticism of a 12-day-old remark about business owners has taken a campaign toll on President Barack Obama, forcing him to defend himself and giving Republican Mitt Romney a break from steady attacks.

And the AP can’t have that. But remember how the AP came to the defense of Romney when Obama and his minions were attacking him with blatantly false claims, and even calling him a felon?

We don’t either.

The development has delighted Republicans, who were eager to shift the campaign focus from Romney’s tax returns, overseas assets and Bain Capital record…

AKA the Obama campaign endless litany of lies. In fact, the AP never had any problem when Romney was being attacked by the Obama campaign about his tenure at Bain. These were charges the news media knew to be untrue. But instead of knocking them down, they helped Obama spread the smears.

The truth is the media has no problem with Obama lying about Romney. But they can’t stand the idea of Romney telling the truth about Obama.

Acknowledging that the Republican’s criticisms were hitting a mark, Obama’s team rolled out two new TV ads this week in which he employed for the first time what many Democrats consider a powerful tool: the president talking directly into the camera and countering GOP claims.

"Those ads taking my words about small business out of context — they’re flat-out wrong," Obama says in the newest ad.

Luckily, Obama and his minions in the news media have never taken Mitt Romney’s words out of context. Such as when he said he liked being able to fire people, while talking about having control over who is your doctor.

But, as anyone who listens to the entire speech can tell you, the context of Obama’ remarks only makes them worse. Obama was using this line to buttress his constant demand that businesses and other ‘rich people’ pay more in taxes. (See below.)

Democrats say the "direct-to-camera" format plays to the president’s strength, and they don’t think Romney can match it.

In other words, the Democrats consider Obama’s ability to look the American people in the eye and lie to them a "strength."

But also notice how the Democrats call it ‘whining’ when Romney complains about being lied about. But it’s a ‘strength’ when Obama complains about someone telling the truth about him and quoting his words verbatim.

But like any strategy deployed 15 weeks before Election Day, it might lose some of its impact over time

By then maybe Obama will have moved on to another ‘strength’, like crying on camera.

Most GOP attacks ignored the broader context of the speech. In it, Obama discussed a favorite theme: the claim that government-assisted infrastructure including roads, research and schools help sustain American society, including private enterprise.

Romney and his allies have used the quote in countless ads, videos, statements and conference calls, painting Obama as contemptuous of hard-working entrepreneurs and business owners.

It’s a presidential topic so familiar that few reporters or Obama critics took note of the specific remarks for a few days…

What a laugh. The news media tried their best to ignore Obama’s remarks because they knew they would hurt their candidate. They were forced to cover them because of the alternative news media.

You can still read Obama’s Roanoke speech at the taxpayer funded White House website. If you do, you will see that Obama began his speech by stressing class warfare, and how there are two Americas. One being made up of hard-working Americans like himself. And the other being comprised of the evil rich who have never done an honest day’s work, like Mitt Romney.

Obama then segues to his favorite topic, which is that the wealthy need to give more money to the government.

There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me because they want to give something back. If you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own.

I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges.

If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.

The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet…

As we noted at the time (being among the first to highlight his remarks), Obama was claiming that businesses and the rich did not build the roads and bridges. They did not pay for any teachers or the rest of the American infrastructure. But in reality the opposite is true.

The roads and bridges were built and teachers were hired with money from: 1) the ‘rich’ taxpayers who pay most of the taxes, 2) the ‘rich’ who invest in state and city bonds, and 3) the ‘rich’ companies who pay road taxes and property taxes that fund the schools. 4) the ‘rich’ employers who pay their employees, who then, in turn, pay gasoline taxes and property taxes.

And all of these ‘rich’ people are constantly under assault from Obama. And, in fact, this speech was just example of Obama demanding that they pay even more.

…..”I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there……..”

I guess the roads, the teachers, the police and fire and ambulance people……. don’t work for the stupid, lazy, illiterate, drugged-up, amoral, blood-sucking parasites who drop out of school, breed like rats, suck at the government teat, and don’t contribute to society or the government tax coffers one red cent.

I guess they are just as smart and industrious, and worthy of partaking of all these things as the people who fund the construction and maintenance of them. They are just as capable of being successful……they just don’t want to be so, so long as somebody else is, and provides it all to them for free. These folks probably think they’re SMARTER than the business owners because they figured it out, and elected a like-minded deadbeat to the presidency. I mean, affirmative action seems to have trumped all those noble ideals upon which our founding fathers based our nation.

It should be obvious, now, that had our founding fathers been from Africa, it wouldn’t have been necessary to waste those 236 years in a failed experiment called the United States when they could have just started out giving stuff away for free. That way we could have all been equal from the start.

(I’ll turn the sarcasm off now.)

Well, possibly the fart in the room nobody wants to claim is that there are also a lot of not-too-bright, lazy people who are business owners.

To run a successful business and to run it well, you should be diligent, smart and put forth significant effort to keep it tight. But, experience has shown that some businesses thrive in spite of themselves.

But the point I’m circuitously trying to make is that Obama has no idea what goes into starting/growing/maintaining a business. Hiring, firing, accounting, maintenance, ordering product, overhead, insurance, regulations upon regulations, all just to keep a roof over your head. Like many people, he probably figures that GE, Xerox, GM have “always been there” and or appeared out of thin air. Even the most left-leaning business out there had to have investors, owners, some form of management to keep it organized, etc.

But to Obama, “organization” has a completely different meaning.
      As does “management” and “investors”.

He is adroit at the socialist way of doing things and thus, goes to businesses and corporations that are already government-friendly. And….he plies his BS on them to get them to be more fascist-oriented. Probably in a threatening sort of way. “Do it this way or….who knows…sumpin’ might happen to ya’s”.

He doesn’t understand nor desires to learn, how the business world works and how many people are actually dependent on a job or position in any company, large or small.

His blind ignorance is troweled over by his desires on how he sees things or how they “ought to be”.

      Thus, he is a fool.

“There are a lot of smart people out there.”

Unfortunately there are also a lot of stupid, ignorant, and ill-informed people out there, most of whom actually believe they are smart.

If you took away Nerobama’s lies, took away his enablers in the media, and took away the fools who believe and propagate his lies, what then would be left of the Democrat Party and Liberalism?

There would be nothing left but naked Marxism.

And if Karl Marx had been aborted en ventre sa mere, there would be nothing at all left today of modern Liberalism and the modern Democrat Party.

First the President, Barack Obama makes a statement at a forum that “You didn’t build that” and then receives negative press and attack adds and rightfully so. A couple days later he then tells us “WE” took it out of context………..again! How condescending is this President. “We heard you loud and clear Mr. President and you will hear all of us loud and clear in November.”

Someone should ask the maricone if “We” didn’t build it, who did? It would expose the depth of his disillusion.

I’m hoping after the convention when Romney is the actual candidate (remember he’s still just the front runner. Strange things have happened at conventions and things don’t always work out how you plan). That he will take the gloves off and produce a series of adds expounding the Ohole’s factual record. No lies needed just the plain, unvarnished truth blasted all of October should be enough to sway even the most waffling “Independent”.
