Funny you heard nothing from Obama until after a successful rescue by the SEALS. Just imagine what would have been said had it gone wrong , Obama would have thrown the Navy and the SEAL team under the bus...

Only PR's perverted brain can think about some of this stuff.

Is anybody else kind of wondering how it has come about that The Moron's first big test as commander in chief just happens to be a bunch of 3rd world kids in a shooting gallery? Against the most powerful navy ever.

I mean, think about it.....Russia, Iran, Hamas, N. Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq, Venezuala, et al....itching to cause trouble militarilly....and here we have, miraculously, a 16-year old bathtub pirate as The Moron's first big adversary.

Somebody has said these ragtag ruffians are financed by rich men who take most of their profits.

Where has Geore Soros' been the last few weeks.

Pro .. couldn't agree more. I am absolutely convinced o-blah-blah fiddled while rome was burning!

If the hypocrite coward-in-chief had acted with wisdom, forethought, and and sense of experience or experienced guidance (ha, ha) .. the first time that captain managed to exit his captive craft .. the Navy would've had turned the pirate held boat and pirates into smithereens.

Now while I'm not entirely convinced the Navy needed any presidential clearances (unless they had been SPECIFICALLY ordered to NOT use force - and even then there's some questions), The sole accolades need to go to those involved in/on the scene and them alone.

o-blah-blah was more of an interference than a boon by any measure.

This pirate situation is the perfect microcosm for The Moron's life and administration. And a lot of usually reliable conservatives don't get it.

Bernie Goldberg, the author of the "Slobbering" book that Rusty is reading, said on Hannity last night that conservatives should not refuse to give The Moron credit like the libwits refused to give Bush credit.

I don't see it that way at all.

As many have said on S&L, The Moron had plenty of opportunities to act responsibly to save American lives. Instead, he hid under his desk and WAITED FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO ACT. "Approving" force was a non-act. If he had done anything other than approve the twice-asked explicit request, than he would have placed himself in political peril. It took no courage, wisdom or initiative to say "ok". Frankly, I wouldn't be objecting to his early silence if he had kept his mouth shut later, but I strongly object that he let it play out for so long, and that he raced to grab credit when the courageous Navy officer took the proper action at enormous personal risk.

The real story is that <b>The Moron toyed with the lives of American citizens.</b> He was more concerned about how he would look politically than he was about our neigbors' welfare. Everything he did and did not do was calculated to make sure he would be the hero or, even worse, have somebody to blame if the situation ended poorly. And <b>that is the behaviour of a coward</b> and approaches the behaviour of a psychopath.

<b>"If it all went horribly wrong and Captain Phillips was hurt or killed, Obie-One could claim he had nothing to do with it,"</b>

Rusty,

That is EXACTLY what I thought about this whole incident from the start. If things had gone horribly wrong, the captain of the Bainbridge, the Seal team and their commander would have been thrown under the bus asap to save Barry's ass.

Looks to me that this is a far more accurate account of events compared to our unbiased media that has to make this freakishly stupid president look like a big shot. Aside from the fact that it fits with how I see things unfolding, I wish I could be unbiased in my beliefs but everything he does, everything he says, all contradicts what I would consider the proper actions of a man. His is the mind of a child. And like any child who's been given the keys to power, he uses them to suit his needs, but never realizes how transparently he acts, for he thinks he is also sophisticated and clever, no doubt for all the games of Scrabble he's played. He thinks he has wit of unmatched parallel, but falls short of any answer of substance when asked a question of specific requirement.

I am currently reading "A Slobbering Love Affair" and how it really sums up this diptstick's persona is very interesting indeed. But the focus is on how the media, hungry for him to "do good" must, at every turn, be so outrageously biased as to lie for him, cover up for him and do nothing short of making him look the part, even if it costs the credibility of the news media. That is how much in bed they are with this pantheon of progress.

Well, I for one, have seen enough "progress". Bill-Jeff was just a warm-up. This is some serious s**t here. It's obvious that the Midas Touched fool will one day find he can no longer eat. I submit that although we're still in a period where the media cannot afford to lose their stake in this ..uh..."presidency", there will come a time when the finger of blame will rest squarely on the shoulders of Obama. And it will be so obvious that no amount of spin or "versioning" of the truth will change the glaringly plain.

Then, you will see the real Barry. Inasmuch as Bill-Jeff had to appear before the US on primetime TV and admit, perhaps for the first time in HIS life, that he messed up royally (though he almost didn't), you will see in BHO the vile, spoiled, angry little brat that he is. But that also hinges on something very important....one of his valuable cronies who supports him no matter what, will have to jump ship, or simply not be there to cover for him.

No regime is perfect or bulletproof. Eventually, something big has to happen and even the least lacking in awareness will have to see it. THAT is when people make up their minds, or change them.

Yet, sadly....I also fear that even when presented with the obvious, many blacks and white apologists will attempt damage control and still stand in his corner and make excuses. And that's what saddens me the most. The fact that there are a huge number of people who would prefer to preserve his reputation than do what is right and correct for the nation.

We used to have character. Eisenhower once made a statement that is a paraphrased quote from Greek philosopher that says, "What is right, isn't always popular and that which is popular isn't always right". But we have lost the ability, as a nation, to make these distinctions thanks, in part, to television, the sound-bite mentality we have now and the ever-angry hippies who want to fix the world.

*sigh*....and for me, just trying to be a decent human being, by definition, puts me at odds with the government in its current iteration.

Sad, ain't it?

VMAN,crack me up. I keep thinking of Obombies aid Kundra, making his sales pitch for Obomi to appoint him the new aid of Chief over Security of Technology. He actually laughed about how long word of 9/11 took to get out, and that he could change the speed to more than 6 times faster in meeting in crisis. Course FBI placed Kundra on leave for awhile during an investigation.

Pro, I heard on news that a helicopter dropped snipers by parachute, and after the pirate terrorists (not the obomi pirates) fired a flare at the U.S. ship, then the snipers got a clear shot.
Which I do believe is evidence that Obambi, wanted the situation "talked out" ending with "group hugs, kisses, curtsies, bows, and knocking knuckles".
I can't believe he sent a ship without snipers to begin with. Hell, a ton of pirates and ships could have surrounded ours. I know exactly how Phillips heart sunk, when he got shot at and had to get back in the boat with those animals. He was and is a brave man, and if he tells his story, it would benefit the cause.
I am adding a pirate theme to an upcoming Tea Party.

Jason glad you caught it. I first caught in an Australian newspaper online, with a link to Sky news. I'm terrible on the computer. Had no way to link it, went back and forth as it was edited twice, the last ended with the "for a week". But, they blasted the Pris. The camera even focused in on one of the crewman's bottle in his hand. That disappearing news trick is how I first discovered
Sweetness & Light, who had the original news from an AP; The AP having watered the news down within minutes. Modern technology.

Sorry folks, couldn't resist it. You all listed so many things that our Dear Leader was doing at once it reminded me of my husband's irritated comments if I ask him to do too much at once!

Pro,

Yeah, I know you are right. What a sleeze he is. And Zero credit is probably all he deserves.

I'm still glad he's like that though. I would rather him cower in the background until someone with guts and brains makes the right decision than to try to "do" something that requires guts and brains. Neither of which he has.

I shutter to think of what would have happened if he had tried to micro manage such a delicate situation.

Ever hear of the Peter principle? He's met his. Except he met his when he became a senator. (always voting "present" and not taking a stand on anything that could possibly come back to haunt him. Except it has...) As president he is so far above his competency its just plain scary.

I’m still glad he’s like that though. I would rather him cower in the background until someone with guts and brains makes the right decision than to try to “do” something that requires guts and brains. Neither of which he has.

I shutter to think of what would have happened if he had tried to micro manage such a delicate situation.

Ever hear of the Peter principle? He’s met his. Except he met his when he became a senator. (always voting “present” and not taking a stand on anything that could possibly come back to haunt him. Except it has…) As president he is so far above his competency its just plain scary.

Here's the account of the pirate situation that rings true:

"Phillips’ first leap into the warm, dark water of the Indian Ocean hadn’t worked out as well. With the Bainbridge in range and a rescue by his country’s Navy possible, Phillips threw himself off of his lifeboat prison, enabling Navy shooters onboard the destroyer a clear shot at his captors — and none was taken. The guidance from National Command Authority — the president of the United States, <b>Barack Obama — had been clear: a peaceful solution was the only acceptable outcome to this standoff unless the hostage’s life was in clear, extreme danger.</b>

The next day, a small Navy boat approaching the floating raft was fired on by the Somali pirates — and again no fire was returned and no pirates killed. This was again due to the cautious stance assumed by Navy personnel thanks to the <b>combination of a lack of clear guidance from Washington and a mandate from the commander in chief’s staff not to act until Obama, a man with no background of dealing with such issues and no track record of decisiveness, decided that any outcome other than a “peaceful solution” would be acceptable.</b>

After taking fire from the Somali kidnappers again Saturday night, <b>the on-scene commander decided he’d had enough.</b> Keeping his authority to act in the case of a clear and present danger to the hostage’s life and <b>having heard nothing from Washington since yet another request to mount a rescue operation had been denied the day before,</b> the Navy officer — unnamed in all media reports to date — decided the AK-47 one captor had leveled at Phillips’ back was a threat to the hostage’s life and ordered the NSWC team to take their shots.

Three rounds downrange later, all three brigands became enemy KIA and Phillips was safe.
...
<b>Almost immediately following word of the rescue, the Obama administration and its supporters claimed victory against pirates in the Indian Ocean and declared that the dramatic end to the standoff put paid to questions of the inexperienced president’s toughness and decisiveness.</b>..."

The Moron did his usual hang-around act, voting "present" clearly, knowing that some on-the-scene person would act soon enough, and would be the fall-guy if it didn't go well.

But it went well, so The Moron jumped up, an annointed himself the hero.

He's not just a Moron and an America-hater, he's a jerk of intergalactic proportions.

Hm, can't wait for the talk from Obama (or some other lib) about how this poor youth was led towards a life of thievery and violence because of an uncaring society or some other psychological mumbo-jumbo-garbage.
