AP: Obama Drops Plan To Limit Emissions

From the disinformation agents at the Associated Press:

Obama drops plan to limit global warming gases

By Dina Cappiello, Associated Press Thu Nov 4, 2010

WASHINGTON – Environmental groups and industry seem headed for another battle over regulation of greenhouse gases, as President Barack Obama said he will look for ways to control global warming pollution other than Congress placing a ceiling on it.

"Cap-and-trade was just one way of skinning the cat; it was not the only way," Obama said at a news conference Wednesday, a day after Democrats lost control of the House. "I’m going to be looking for other means to address this problem."

Legislation putting a limit on heat-trapping greenhouse gases and then allowing companies to buy and sell pollution permits under that ceiling narrowly passed the House in 2009 as a centerpiece of Obama’s domestic agenda, but it stalled in the Senate.

Republicans dubbed the bill "cap-and-tax" because it would raise energy prices. They then used it as a club in the midterm elections against Democrats who voted for it. Thirty of the bill’s supporters were among some 50 House Democrats whom voters turned out of office Tuesday.

"It’s doubtful that you could get the votes to pass that through the House this year or next year or the year after," Obama said Wednesday.

Needless to say, the AP’s headline is a flat out lie. No where in his remarks did Mr. Obama suggest that he was going to stop finding ways to punish carbon emitters.

Indeed, he stronly suggested that he will simply implement ‘cap and trade’ via executive fiat, through regulations and executive orders. ‘A stroke of the pen, the law of the land.’

This is his new tone, his new attempt at bi-partisanship.

The new battle over global warming in Congress will target the Environmental Protection Agency, which is poised to regulate greenhouse gases for the first time, after the Supreme Court ruled in 2007 that it could treat heat-trapping gases as pollutants…

Environmentalists, meanwhile, urged Obama to hold his ground.

"While there will be attacks on (EPA’s) authority, it is important that there not be any surrender on EPA’s ability to do the job," said Trip Van Noppen, president of Earthjustice

Obama, when asked about the EPA’s authority Wednesday, said that while a court order gave the EPA jurisdiction, the agency still wants help from Congress…

"One of the things that’s very important for me is not to have us ignore the science, but rather to find ways that we can solve these problems that don’t hurt the economy, that encourage the development of clean energy in this country, that, in fact, may give us opportunities to create entire new industries and create jobs."

Mr. Obama is not only ignoring the science – which says man-made global warming is a fantasy – he is ignoring the American voter. He is also willfully ignoring the laws of economics if he thinks he can punish energy users and supplies and not destroy the US economy.

But, of course, we know that is his real goal, anyway.

He could take a lesson from Jimmah who tried to punish us energy users. That went so well.

Yup, watch carefully now as the boy really starts trying to mask his lies with other lies. It’s not hard to do–all you have to do is listen, and not very carefully at that. It’s not that he is so skilled at oratory, it’s that the general listener is conditioned to sound bites and fast rhetoric.

However, we showed him Tuesday that we’re on to him but there’s no telling how long or even if that concept will get through his thick jackass skull.

I expect the public declarations to abate, including calling us clingers, stupid and afraid. For example, he simply won’t say anything about his stealth execturive orders that implement Crap and Tax by fiat.

He is going back to his lifelong mode of hiding in plain sight. If the tremulous state-run press brings a taboo subject up, he will paint one of his 2500 word pictures that puts listeners to sleep after 100 words.

This is how he will rule us for the next 2 years.

I can’t help but add that Nerobama and his robber gangs in Congress treat America much as a conqueror treats a conquered province. Thus :

Acting as conquerors, they enrich themselves from the public treasury.

They plunder the country’s wealth and saddle the people with debt.

They induce a widespread poverty, and the property of the people is subject to arbitrary taxation, confiscation, foreclosures, auctions, seizures, and redistributions.

They contemn the subdued people, calling us “enemies” and “bitter clingers” and “racists,” and telling us to move to the back of the bus.

And when we complain, each petition is met with repeated injury, and they accuse us of acting out of irrational anger and fear.

They insult our feelings and intelligence, ignore our protests and demonstrations, disregard our suffering and our cries of outrage, while they proceed to destroy the vestiges of the former America –– its Constitution, laws, politics, commerce, industries, and traditions.

They enact law that obstructs our ability to provide medical care for our families, that creates artificial shortages of medical goods and services, that confiscates and redistributes medical resources, and that hinders medical research.

They insult our religion, and attempt to drive it underground.

They lie to us openly and without compunction.

They seek to indoctrinate our children into their ideology.

      They debase our currency.

They appoint judges who rule us without justice.

They confound our territorial limits and boundaries, and plant colonies among us, so that it is no longer easy to tell where America ends and Mexico / Somalia / etc. begins.

Our elected governors of the States are regarded as figureheads, who may not attempt to restore order within their old borders, no matter how pressing the need, without heavy-handed reprimand from the rulers in Washington.

The natural leaders and champions of the people are raped and savaged by the media, if they attempt to rally the people in their distress.

Those people who have achieved economic success, and who attempt to raise their heads above the common level –– i.e., those earning $250K a year –– are singled out for harsh treatment, robbed, and classified as enemies of the state, in order to keep them in their place, and to discourage the subject people and to complete their dispossession and disbandment.

Hmmm. . . . Sounds like I’ve just written a second declaration of independence.

He thinks we are the Gauls. McCain is Vercingetorix. The 2008 election was Alesia. Obamycare was the Rubicon. And just like Caeser, Obamy’s governorship was been revoked Nov 2. He no doubt thinks that Palin is his Pompey and that only plunder awaits him.

His problem is that he seems unaware that there are about 100 million Brutus’s breathing down his neck.

    • Rusty Shackleford says:

Maybe, perhaps he views us as his own personal ant farm. He decides who stays and who goes…what the other ants do and how they do it, and if he is in a bad mood, the magnifying glass and sunshine.

It’s been my fervent belief and I’ve mentioned it here several times that I think he’s sick–mentally. Though not his fault per se, it is his responsibility and his arrogance and aloofness and inability to relate to anyone is as big as any billboard on Highway 85.

To ignore it is to be a fool.

Thus, every supporter and cover-runner for the boy is a fool. Including the MSM, including his democrat allies, the magazines, the newspapers and any citizen who cannot see the real barry. For that I blame both the school systems and television. But, adults are responsible for their decisions…or at least, it has always been so until recently.

Obama’s arrogance will change form but he is still every bit as angry, every bit as hateful, every bit as dysfunctional as he has been all his life. Like Pro said, he’ll go underground to his more familiar subversive and covert ops to continue to destroy this nation. Then, when he is not elected in 2012, he will move to some place that considers him a god too. But, it will actually place him into irrelevance. It can’t come soon enough for me.

    • Right of the People says:

You are correct, narcissism is a mental illness and the boy king has a full blown case of it.

  2. Mae says:

And rule is exactly it, proreason. He has “dictator” written all over him, body stance, facial expression, racist attitude, words–just words–that he uses to hide his real agenda.

We still have two outstanding races for Senate–in Washington and Alaska. The deceptive ads against both men are reprehensible enough. But Murray is the most liberal of Obama gal-pals; and Mulmouthsky is the Alaskan dynasty (take off the “dy”) princess Daddy dictatorially put in office and who will caucus with the Democrats blocking every effort to defund Obamacare. Pray that Rossi and Miller win at the final count.

  3. retire05 says:

Cheer up, boys and girls. Once again the good guys in white hats are running to your rescue.

Just days before the election, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, acting under a request from Governor Rick Perry, filed suit in federal court challenging the EPAs right to limit green house gases. The suit claims that the “global warming” mantra is based on faulty science.

  4. canary says:

Let’s not forget Obama’s pattern. When he says he isn’t going to do something, he does it anyways. And his push for electric cars shows he’s still an idiot. I don’t think he ever rode a bike in his life.
Can’t you just picture Obama & Michelle in one of those little electric chairs. That’s a must example to show us.

  5. P. Aaron says:

Obama should also drop his plans to limit our liberties.

  6. Chase says:

While the GOP-controlled house will shortly take hold of the constitutional reins of the purse, National Review and recent press conferences have discussed means of starving, choking and leeching a systematic repeal of Obamacare, and other excesses of power and authority.

Seems to me if we are going to push for de-funding of various legislative “reforms” while worrying about executive orders, that the same starving of executive branches could follow suit. It would be nice to see the wave of fervor and fiscally sense and responsibility furthered to disestablish the Dept of Education, returning that power to the States, while also emasculating the EPA, as well as United Nations funding, etc.,.
