SG – I believe there was a last ditch attempt by the Russians to get men to the moon before the US – in orbit I believe and that it ended with the crew being lost. I’ll have to look for that. Let me know if you find anything of it.

wonderbread there is just another cage-rattler, sent by his or her handlers to try to upset us. They have no facts to back up their statement and by “footprints” I strongly suspect they mean that oter nations have put hardware on or near the Moon.

This to me, does not constitute footprints, as in, people walking about.

And wondersz1, you’re pretty much the garden variety liberal hack who thinks everything this nation does is bad and this nation is supposed to be all things to all people. While I agree some work can be done in many areas, like waking people up like you who don’t realize the government is currently taking you on a ride to poverty, I also feel that no apology is necessary for our space and moon programs. None.

However, if you want to whine about it, feel free, whereupon all of your arguments will be shot down with a logical, straightforward rebuttal. Your emotional bias has already shown through in your posts so, it shouldn’t be too hard to dumbfound you.

And, for the record, we here on this blog are as steadfast in our ideals as you are. Perhaps moreso. By coming here and throwing rocks, you solidify our resolve more than ever against people like you. Who knows, you might be a nice person. But in your mind, you cannot assess fact from fiction nor can you make a non-emotional decision. Just as well, since we really need more artists and sculptors and musicians and such. Hey, how much time have you spent weeping over MJ? Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Not as far as real facts are concerned. Other nations, including Russians have their footprints on the surface of the Moon.

Can we glorify the bastards of “NO” peoples rights and freedoms anymore?

Cold war is over anyway and now US and Russia cooperate in peaceful space exploration. Does it matter a lot who was the first now as it did then? Now that both countries have their footprints on the Moon it doesn’t look so important.

My city has Virgil Grissom High, Ed White Middle and Roger Chaffee Elementary schools. Wonder if the Ruskies even admitted to half the deaths of their cosmonauts, let alone openly honored them? We also have Challenger Elementary and Columbia Middle.

The eyes of the whole world were watching and waiting on that grainy black and white image. How would the Soviets have handled an Apollo 13 incident? Despite the great challenges to Houston Control and the Astronauts, I think that whole drama was NASA’s greatest example of a can do attitude and great resourcefulness.
