AP: Spill, Iraq Over, Obama Takes Break

Just when you thought the Associated Press couldn’t be any more preposterously slavering:

Oil spill and Iraq combat over, Obama takes break

By Glen Johnson, Associated Press Writer
August 20, 2010

VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass. – Finally, President Barack Obama can relax on vacation.

The Gulf oil leak is plugged. The last combat troops are out of Iraq. And Congress is on its own summer break.

And never mind that Mr. Obama had nothing to do with solving the oil spill. Iraq combat troops are out under a schedule that was implemented by President Bush – over the objections of Mr. Obama.

But, yes, Mr. Obama needs to take a break – he must be exhausted – from his previous five vacations.

Still, doubts remain about the strength of the U.S. economy, and Obama tried to tamp them down before his 10-day vacation on Martha’s Vineyard. He called on lawmakers to pass a small business aid package when they return next month.

"A majority of senators are in favor of the bill and yet the obstruction continues," he said before departing the White House on Thursday. "It’s obstruction that stands in the way of small business owners getting the loans and the tax cuts that they need to prosper. It’s obstruction that defies common sense."

With that final jab at Republicans, he traded his suit coat and tie for an open collar, flew up to this island playground and settled into the 30-acre Blue Heron Farm, where the first family stayed last year.

First lady Michelle Obama traveled separately with daughters Sasha and Malia, after picking up 12-year-old Malia following two weeks at a summer camp. Family dog Bo also made the trip.

On another separate plane, again?

The White House said it was hoping for a news-free trip, but shortly after the president arrived, he announced a series of recess appointments. He filled four diplomatic and agency jobs under a temporary authority he gains while Congress is on recess, and he blamed Republicans for forcing him to bypass the normal confirmation process

Notice that whenever Mr. Obama’s vacations are mentioned, the media usually mentions Mr. Bush’s. But here there is no mention of all of the Bush appointments that were ignored or blocked by Congress…

Martha’s Vineyard has previously played host not only to Obama, but also two other presidents, Bill Clinton and Ulysses S. Grant.

Two of the most corrupt Presidents in our nation’s history. But note the conspicuous absence of any mention of Kennedys.

It has been a traditional gathering point for affluent African-Americans, and Obama visited even before he was elected the country’s first black president in 2008.

Meaning, he went up there to campaign and schmooze.

"It’s a beautiful part of the country. It has really nice beaches and the folks are really great. The food is terrific," deputy press secretary Bill Burton told reporters aboard Air Force One. "And it’s someplace that the president went before he was president and likes to go back, because it’s a comfortable place where he can rest and recharge the batteries a little bit."

Yes, he certainly must need to ‘recharge his batteries.’

The spokesman said he expected the president to indulge in golfing, beach time and a visit or two to the island’s numerous ice cream stands.

Mr. Obama seems to be out to do a tour of every ice cream stand in all 57 states. Which is odd, given that during the campaign, he claimed to hate the stuff. He said (paraphrasing) that once upon a time he had actually worked at a Baskin Robbins.

And clearly doesn’t like to be reminded of work.

I’m beginning to take a different opinion on Obama’s frequent vacations.

It occurs to me that the decision to vacate the premesis (White House) is not his. Obama’s puppet masters are in charge and they move him about at will. He is incapable of doing or saying anything on his own without completely screwing it up. His recent proclaimations and utterances concerning the GZM, and the subsequent spin and re-spin of those utterances stand in mute testimony to his propensity to shoot off his mouth before loading his brain.

His presidency is akin to the monarchy in Britain……only without the class.

NYT: “To Help Democrats in the Fall, Obama May Stay Away” http://sweetness-light.com/arc.....ms-in-fall

I tend to agree with you John. He’s done so much damage to his brand, his party, and our country, that I think he really has to try and politically insulate himself from investigation, trials, impeachment.

That’s why it’s hilarious that he can’t help stepping in turd anyway.

It’s hilarious but also embarassing and ridiculous, like Rush said.

It’s dangerous especially, this fantasy in which he’s built and walled himself. This is the President – our anti-American President..

“Obama’s puppet masters are in charge”

That has been my thought from the beginning, but I’m waffling this summer.

I’m having a hard time believing that even he could be as stupid as he has been recently if a cabal is still controlling him.

The Ground-zero mosque is the aha moment. But it only follows the Arizona cram-down, the economy sabotage, the Black Panther outrage, the ObamaScare slap in the face and the Kagan jam-in. These are not the actions of a cool and calculating Ruling Elite. These are the actions of an arrogant, willful, petulant political novice who can’t control his impulses to spit in the face of his enemies (us), even though it is abundantly clear that he is ruining the chances of his party to win the next election and also his own chances 2 years from now.

The most reasonable alternative explanation is even more frightening. They may believe they are so firmly in control of the levers of power that it no longer matters if the Moron hides his true self or not.

“The most reasonable alternative explanation is even more frightening. They may believe they are so firmly in control of the levers of power that it no longer matters if the Moron hides his true self or not.”

Frightening indeed. The Democrats are confused, disillusioned, and jumping ship, but there isn’t the same type of panic in the upper eschelons of the executive branch.

“I don’t believe Imam Obama is supremely loyal to the Islamic World but to himself. He wishes he could be – he’s certainly sympathetic to the faith and believes in the veracity of its mission. Certainly its inspired him to lead his political party to suicide bomb the US Economy and Constitution.” http://sweetness-light.com/arc.....ent-186662

Forget being detached from the Country – he does not seem concerned with losing his own power at all. But nothing about his personality profile indicates that he would just back down and let history run the present course of taking his presidency down in flames and shame. So what are we missing? Is he simply waiting for the curtain to rise on Act II in January before he makes his next impulsive and destructive move?

    • JohnMG

He is their stage-double, Pro. And your asessment is probably close to the mark. As you say, they must feel smug enough that they no longer need to mask the true intententions with shadowy, foggy invective.

His true “self” in nothing more than the personification of their true “selves”. He’s just better at it than they.

    • Right of the People

I think he has run amok and his handlers can’t get him under control anymore.

In his first year he and Thunderbutt did everything together, a lot of times with their two spawn in tow. Now I notice they aren’t even making the pretense of being a close knit family unit. They travel separately everywhere. Of course it could just be Thunderbutt being paranoid about assignation attempts and she doesn’t want to be in the line of fire or on the same plane when it goes BOOM!

I believe that he now actually thinks he is in charge and all of these ideas are truly his, not those of Soros and the others. His narcissism is getting out of control and will only get worse as time goes on and he tries to run things on his own without any guidance.

“Is he simply waiting for the curtain to rise on Act II in January before he makes his next impulsive and destructive move?”

That’s what I’m worried about, since they don’t seem to respect the Constitution, the law, tradition or the People.

It seems apparent that they have abandoned November (but of course, there could still be a “surprise”).

Another theory is that the recent activities have all been sending a very clear message to their 10% lunatic base (and the 14% African American vote) that no matter what happens after November, he will always be wid em, even though it may not look like it (gay marriage, oh not that!! wink wink).

He then does a dramatic Clinton/Morris pivot to the middle and becomes Barack Cleaver, Christian boy-scout for the next 2 years.

I don’t think he is capable of doing that, but don’t forget that he is the biggest ego-maniac since the 1930’s. He may think he can pull the wool over anybody’s eyes. Heck, he may get his own tv show.

John good point – perhaps as I said all along – he is simply an empty suit – and I find it particularly ironic that is exactly what the Left bleated about (ad nauseum) for 8 years and it is precisely what they foisted upon us in 2008 – a cardboard character who is just the voice for the person behind the scenes manipulating the whole destruction of America.

I bet they had a real tough time deciding between The Won & Bite Me as to who would sit on top of the ticket – I have to guess that The Won won simply because he could read the speeches better. And of course the ‘historic’ aspect of America sitting the first halfrican President.

40 years in the wilderness – will be the only legacy The Won achieves for the DNC.

And America will come back stronger and better because of it – as I said – ironic, isn’t it.

“Martha’s Vineyard has previously played host not only to Obama, but also two other presidents, Bill Clinton and Ulysses S. Grant.

I don’t think Grant was personally corrupt. Wasn’t his problem that he couldn’t recognise that his family and friends were? Clinton…well, we all know the answer to that one.

  4. Chinnubie

We come back if and only if Congress repeals that destructive so-called Health Care Reform Law and the utter nonsense of any of those retarded Jobs Bills that have become law. If this country doesn’t get out of the mindset of an entitlement society we are just putting off the inevitable and will continue to head down the road of socialism.

What I don’t get is the press talking about the man-child president recharging his batteries, they’ve never gone down. I mean really what the hell has HE really done other than rubberstamp socialist agenda items to further destroy a once great country. Yes, I said “once great” cause nobody has the REAL guts to do the right thing. The people of this country are so brainwashed with what will be done for them they wouldn’t know true sacrifice if it slapped them in the face. I can almost say we have been defeated by the lefts agenda because they have gotten to the school system all the way through college. The vast majority of graduating students are dumber than prior class. Until we start teaching our children properly this country is doomed. The sad part about this is the example I can put forward, Barrack H. Obama!!

Oh boy! It’s a Special Vacation Time Message from President Obama!

My fellow Indonesians, I mean Americans

As you know, I am a thoughtful and reflective man who likes to turn away from the cares of office to write long books about the things that matter, like himself. Now I have made time in my busy vacation schedule of golfing, ice cream devouring and photo ops to share with you my personal thoughts about how things are going these days in our country.

Indonesia is a land of many faces –oops, sorry. Start again. Now, since those seemingly distant days when I was crowned your God – King you may feel that finally, at long last, our crippled and divided nation, where the scars of racism and oppression are branded deep into the mean, shrivelled souls of the 450 million unhappy people who shamefacedly call themselves “Americans”, is at last on the long road to becoming the country that our college professors, our aging rock musicians, our Hollywood role models and George Soros have long believed we could be – and I am not saying you are wrong.

No, that’s not what I’m saying. That kind of confrontation is not my way. For too long our anguished and Palin-ridden nation has taken the path of confrontation, has put on its Angry Face and spoken with its Outside Voice, when all along there was another way, a way of dialogue, of reasonable negotiation and an honest search for understanding

Imagine, if President Roosevelt had shown the courage to sit down with Adolf Hitler and seek for a common ground, had FDR just come right out and said “Mein Fuhrer, what is it exactly that I can do for you and how soon may I do it?”, instead of rushing blindly into an illegal and unprovoked war, then maybe millions of young Germans would be alive today and our country would not have tasted the bitter ashes of defeat in the war torn jungles of Yoko Ono and the blood soaked beaches of Connie Chung.

It’s this other way, a non-threatening and non-confrontational way, which I’ll bring to my frank personal negotiations with the Iranians after they nuke Israel. Did I just say that? Man, what’s in this drink? Wow.

Where was I? Oh yeah – its holiday time. My orders are for you to take the time to share some special moments with your family, as I am doing with my special lady, Michelle. If I’d known that this is what it would take to finally put a smile on that sour little face of hers, I’d have started running for president as soon as I was legal. You think Hillary’s bad tempered? Hillary’s like Gidget compared to Michelle, believe you me.

Anyhoo, even as we party down, we remember that there is still so much to be done to America. As long as our laziest and most stupid citizens are denied the fruits of the American Dream, as long as we continue to refuse to accept our deserved defeat and humiliation in Iraq, as long as we continue to think of ourselves as “something special”, instead of as the sullen collection of planet-raping, minority-oppressing, gun-hugging and sexually inadequate nobodies that you all are, well, the need for change will be there and so will I.

So, to sum up: America bad, Barack good. Enjoy your vacation now but after Labor Day we can really get down to the serious business of making this a country Michelle and I can finally be proud of.
    Have a nice day

    Your pal

    President Barack

    • JohnMG

That would be really funny, artboyusa, if it wasn’t true. Our post-racial healer couldn’t resist taking a parting swipe at the “opposition” before leaving for his latest romp, all on the taxpayer’s dime, I might add.

      Maybe that’s a typo; He’s a ‘most-racial’ president.

    • Right of the People

Perfect Art but isn’t it President for Life Barack?

The oil leak is plugged? Say again?

Scientists Confirm Giant Underwater Oil Plume
By Alec Liu & Jeremy A. Kaplan
    Published August 19, 2010/ FoxNews.com

Scientists have discovered an oil plume at least 22 miles long, 3,000 feet deep in the Gulf of Mexico — suggesting that the tens of millions of gallons of oil that leaked from a broken BP well could persist far longer than expected.

Whether the plume’s existence poses a significant threat to the Gulf ecosystem and sea life is not yet clear, the researchers say.

“We don’t know how toxic it is,” said Christopher Reddy, a Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute (WHOI) marine geochemist and oil spill expert and one of the authors of the study. “But knowing the size, shape, depth, and heading of this plume will be vital for answering many of these questions.”

The existence of the plume, which was concretely pinned to the blown-out well, seems to contradict a five-page report released August 4 by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which claimed “a vast majority” of the BP oil spill is now completely gone. The remaining 25% consists of residual oil buried in sediments and sand, the report claimed.

Proreason – re: your first comment (puppet masters): does the name Soros ring any bells? Except for the the word ‘novice’ you used, Soros fits the bill and has been an integral part of the Obama machine for years.

For fun in his spare time, Soros broke the Bank of England and bankrupted Scotland and Iceland. Interfering with sovereign countries is a hobby of his.
