AP Can’t Wait To Whitewash Terrorist

From an obviously discombobulated Associated Press:

Bomb suspect’s teacher describes exemplary pupil

December 27, 2009

LAGOS, Nigeria – Nigeria’s information minister says the airline bomb suspect "sneaked" into Nigeria the day before his botched Christmas Day effort to blow up a plane over Detroit.

Information Minister Dora Akunyili says Nigerian citizen Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab entered his home country on Dec. 24 and left the same day to board a flight to Detroit via Amsterdam. She did not elaborate or say where Abdulmutallab entered Nigeria. She says his father is in deep shock and had expressed great regret.

On Saturday, U.S. officials charged Abdulmutallab with trying to destroy the plane. A conviction on the charge could bring Abdulmutallab up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Nigerian officials said Saturday they were opening their own investigation.

This is the full article. Notice anything?

The Associated Press was so eager to claim that this terrorist is just a mixed up kid they forgot to supply the story to substantiate their headline.

Of course if they wanted to know anything about the young Abdulmutallab they could have simply asked his father, who thought his son was so dangerous he reported him to the FBI months ago.

But the AP wouldn’t do that.

They don’t want to make their heroes look bad.

This is what happens after centuries of imperialism.

After a while the poor benighteds develop a deep urge to kill themselves.

Either that or they become rap music impresarios or get elected to congress.

  2. jobeth says:

Yep…He’s only a misunderstood, ,misguided little fellow.
We must all just try to understand him and be nicer. After all its US who is ultimately to blame. (heavy sarc!)

The only one I even have a tad of sympathy for is dad…who has to live with the fact that he sired this piece of cow dung.

  3. Howard Roark says:

Yes, the father of this terrorist was noble enough to actually call the FBI to report his son. Amazingly refreshing, eh? We need more Africans, Arabs, and Muslims like that.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see the press begin to paint the father, a wealthy African banking executive, as a stool pigeon of Corporate America, sacraficing his son in order to curry favor from his imperialist puppetmasters.

    • proreason says:

Daddy is obviously an imperialist racist. Another Thomas Sowell.

    • Howard Roark says:

Right. After all, he’s no Cornell West, Al, or Jesse, here. The press is so myopic in their list of “acceptable black people”, that good folks like this African father are discarded to the dustbin of history, while overeducated animals get hoisted onto their shoulders, thrust onto their headlines, and memorialized with total media coverage for their funerals.

    heh—-“bomb suspect”.

Bomb suspect came from elite family, best schools

By Jon Gambrell, Associated Press Writer

LAGOS, Nigeria – As a member of an uppercrust Nigerian family, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab received the best schooling, from the elite British International School in West Africa to the vaunted University College London.

But the education he sought was of a different sort: Nigerian officials say his interest in extremist Islam prompted his father to warn U.S. authorities. As Abdulmutallab was being escorted in handcuffs off the Detroit-bound airliner he attempted to blow up on Christmas Day, he told U.S. officials that he had sought extremist education at an Islamist hotbed in Yemen.

And how is it that on a holiday weekend, we are getting such in-depth info on this character anyway? I’ll bet daddy’s bank account is filling up quickly with payment for telephone interviews.

It is also noteworthy here, that this dirtbag was the well educated offspring of a well placed, well to do family.

No poverty. No lack of education. No lack of prospects for a sunny affluent future. No lack of exposure to modern ways.

Could it have been …. mohammedanism ?

  6. canary says:

AP and other main media headlines are far more untruthful & harmful than the tabloid headlines.

  7. mr_bill says:

Why hasn’t he been indicted on 300 charges of attempted murder?
