Aunt Zeituni: US Had To Make Me A Citizen

From the Boston CBS affiliate, WBZTV:

Aunt Zeituni: ‘The System Took Advantage Of Me’

September 20, 2010

BOSTON (WBZ) ― "If I come as an immigrant, you have the obligation to make me a citizen." Those are the words from 58-year-old Zeituni Onyango of Kenya in a recent exclusive interview with WBZ-TV…

Who knew? And of course the rest of the country will never hear this interview.

Onyango is the aunt of President Barack Obama. She has been living in the United States illegally for years, receiving public assistance in Boston…

Onyango had violated the law, and she knew it.

"I knew I had overstayed" she told WBZ-TV’s Jonathan Elias when the two sat down one-on-one.

Zeituni Onyango said she came to the United States in 2000 and had every intention of leaving. Then, however, she says she got deathly ill and was hospitalized. When she recovered, she said she was broke and couldn’t afford to leave.

Notice that Ms. Onyango neglected to mention that she was afraid to return to Kenya out of fear of political persecution.

For two years Onyango said she lived in a homeless shelter, before she was moved into public housing. "I didn’t take advantage of the system. The system took advantage of me."

"I didn’t ask for it; they gave it to me. Ask your system. I didn’t create it or vote for it. Go and ask your system," she said unapologetically.

To say she is unapologetic is a bit of an understand me. She sounds as arrogant as her nephew.

And she’s right. The system provided her assistance despite her status as an illegal immigrant.

In 2004 a judge ordered Zeituni Onyango out of the country, but she never left. She stayed, hiding in plain site. In 2005 she attended her nephew’s swearing in as the junior Senator of Illinois. In 2008 she traveled to D.C. for President Obama’s inauguration.

Onyango hired a top immigration lawyer from Cleveland to help fight her case. We asked how she afforded that lawyer, when she claimed poverty.

"When you believe in Jesus Christ and almighty God, my help comes from heaven," she responded.

And she is just as good at avoiding questions as her nephew.

When asked about cutting in line ahead of those who have paid into the system she answered plainly, "I don’t mind. You can take that house. I will be on the street with the homeless."

And, once again, just like Mr. Obama, her answers do not fit the questions or even make much sense.

In May 2010, Onyango’s case went back before the same judge who ordered her out of the country in 2004. This time she was granted asylum in the United States. The ruling said a return to Kenya might put Onyango in danger.

Gee, what had changed in six years?

So she is now here legally, still living on public assistance and hoping that the spotlight on her will dim.

And what a shining beacon Aunt Zeituni is for everyone else in the world who would like a life of ease for free, thanks to the generosity of the US of A.

Back in the day, when family meant something, one turned first to their family for assistance. It was part of the reason that people understood the importance of and maintained civility, learned to forgive and forget, humility and pride were kept in balance, and trust, loyalty, and discretion were virtues.

Big governement wedged itself right in there, providing an easier way, making it shameless, disincentivizing those bonds, and with it has gone loyalty, civility, humility, forgiveness and real charity. Charity is now big business and a haven for scammers….

Those receiving ‘official’ charity don’t have gratitude. They have only contempt for the weak and those that roll over and pay.

We know from public records about Obama’s ‘extended family’ which included communists and liberation theologists, anarchists and scammers. No honor there, no real compassion or charity. We know of the Obama’s penurious charity, and Michelle’s no-work job.

The fruits of government charity are contemptuous weasels, and Obama’s failure to even recognize any opportunity or responsibility as regards his blood relations is another true indicator of his heart and ideological drive to dumb down true goodness and degrade everyone outside his elitist circle.

“Then, however, she says she got deathly ill and was hospitalized. When she recovered, she said she was broke and couldn’t afford to leave.”

What a crock! If an illegal like her wants to leave, the US will PAY for their ticket back to their homeland. It happens all the time. It’s easy to see the family resemblance. Apparently nobody in that family is in touch with reality.

Auntie Onyango says, “you have the obligation to make me a citizen.”

So we are obligated, are we?

And here I always thought the immigration laws were made to protect and benefit America, not to benefit foreigners. Silly me.

Auntie Onyango has the perfect entitlement mentality, and not much else.

Clearly she is well suited to become an American.

So welcome Auntie, and please take your place at the end of the trough.

If I come as an immigrant, you have the obligation to make me a citizen.

No, No, Hell No – You show me in any single statute that says specifically in any country in the World – ‘if I come as an immigrant you have the obligation to make me a citizen.’ What a crock (and I am no longer shocked that the Shamnesty abetting journoLists propagate this bs).

So here comes the next logical question – is Ms Zeituni changing stories (as I’ve never heard the overstayed because she became deathly ill) or is CBS (and exactly why are they interviewing her now?!?) adding facts previously unknown? And why? Makes me think that the whole story isn’t that she was approved to stay but yet again, given a deportation order and is now stumping for citizenship.

Chase – You are dead on – Immigration used to be not to deny nor allow particular groups but simply to weed out the diseased and criminal. But it’s been decades since any politico allowed Immigration to do it’s job correctly or at all. And of course the activist judges who are opening our borders by imaginary implications in the Constitution and Laws that allow criminal illegal aliens to have more rights than native born citizens (look at our POTUS)!

My bad – of course this is all about the highly ethical (excuse me, most ethical Congress ever) putting the DREAM act as an amendment onto the Defense Authorization bill – can’t get Shamnesty passed on it’s own – So good ole ethical Harry Reid is attaching it to a must pass bill. I already got my bs note from my Dem Senator telling me – that we can’t not fund all our wonderful Armed Forces simply due to something minor (which by the way, the majority are for) attached to it (actually he was defending DADT repeal but that along with the DREAM act and of course Federally (forced) Funding of Abortion at all military hospitals are all attached as amendments). I am shocked – only that the most ethical Senator Reid is doing this before the election – he truly must think that the mantra (i.e. lie) – the Republicans obstructed the Defense Authorization bill – will keep the DNC enough seats to still be in control. They all should be shot at sunrise.

Ward Mama, I read that too. They can afford to pay for their own abortions.

    • wardmama4 says:

Canary – no that is not the issue. The Hyde Amenment (translation: current law) forbids any Federal Funding of Abortion, this amendment force Military Hospitals to provide abortions is a backdoor way to get that toe in the door of Federal Funding of Abortion. It is currently against the law for abortions to be performed at military hospitals as the hospitals are all Federally Funded.

So, Zeituni is spinning America taking care of her into America forcing her to be slave under the “system”.

Obama wrote of being tense & resentful when his aunts told him how fortunate he was. In Africa he felt like he fit in and people weren’t “watching” him, and his hair grew normal, “and that your rump sways the way a rump is supposed to sway” He felt in Africa he could life “without living a lie or committing betrayal”
So, is he chose America; living a lie and committing betrayal.

    • canary says:

I’m sure Obama could get his church to take up a collection to send her back to Africa since she feels the American system is holding her captive.

  6. retire05 says:

This article says more about our President than it does his aunt’s vicim mentality. He was aware she was in the U.S. [illegally] and was already a Illinois senator when she arrived. In 2004, when she was ordered to deport, he was campaigning for the U.S. Senate.

He could afford a $1 million plus home, but couldn’t seem to help out Auntie Zietuni. His wife was knocking down a tony salary with the University of Chicago Medical Center, and he was drawing his Illinois state salary. Yet, poor Zietuni was ill and broke, with no concern shown from her nephew.

In Obama’s socialist mind, it was not his responsibility to take care of her, but rather the responsibility of the government, i.e. we taxpayers. If this article explains anything, it explains that the elite of this nation, who push their socialistic dreams [from their fathers] on the rest of us think they are exempt.

Reading your comment had me thinking…

Thank goodness he IS a jerk and has no family loyalty, other wise this dead beat illegal would be living in the WH right now.

He could use her to be grandma’s relief baby sitter or at least someone who could empty his ashtrays before the Belle sees them. Orrrr…someone to retrieve his golf balls.

Bet she refused him…All of those things require work…and who would want to mess up the sweet gig she has now.

  7. Tater Salad says:

Will the MSM report this that Obama’s mother-in-law is practicing witchcraft in the White House?

  8. beautyofreason says:

“I didn’t take advantage of the system. The system took advantage of me.”

Absolutely sickening sense of entitlement. She has no respect for the country. If the leftists had their way on open door immigration we would be bankrupt.

    • jobeth says:

“I didn’t take advantage of the system. The system took advantage of me.”

Perhaps I missed it…what was it that we got by taking advantage of her?

The joy of giving her our hard earned money?
The joy in giving her an apartment while some American citizen sits on a waiting list?
Free Food for life while we hard working American citizens eat hamburger and beans?

Oddly she seems to have the attitude we haven’t given enough.

Oh, please Auntie…please tell us what more we can do…Shall we build you a hot tub? Perhaps your own pool?

What a piece of work…It obviously runs in their DNA.

  9. proreason says:

Has she been on Oprah yet?

  10. jobeth says:

This arrogant woman really burn me up!!!

She said in the interview…” you can take my house, I didn’t ask for it!” Good B****! Hand over the keys!

My learning disabled granddaughter’s late father worked for many years and her check isn’t “almost $700! How in the world did she get ANYthing, let alone more than someone who’s father paid in for years?!

She’s Broke? She seemed pretty well decked out for someone who is broke…and is “taken advantage of” by the US.

Listening to her explain how she can pay for her expensive lawyer…saying it was Jesus and heaven who provides her way, I realized that stupid speech pattern.

Its in every dang letter I get in my email box from some dang Kenyan wanting to go in business with me…or “meet me” because Jesus told them I was a good person. Or helping me collect several million $$ of money that belonged to some poor dead family member and they need my help in getting it out of the country.

Same stuff…Always Jesus, always! Is that whole country full of scam artists? Even up to our president. He scammed a nearly a whole dang country! But not all of us…we just have to live under his scam.

grrrrrrrr! I didn’t like her before…but now I really despise this piece of dog doo.

  11. AcornsRNutz says:

If this country weren’t run by fools, we would have taken her into custody right after the interview and chucked her on the first flight to kenya. When was the last time a suspect wanted by the police came on tv, confessed to the crime, and demanded they be allowed to get away with it and ACTUALLY DID! Except for democrat congressmen, this doesn’t happen. Why does it with illegals?

Here in MA there is a planned rally for amnesty by 150 “undocumented students” in front of Scott Brown’s house. Who wants to take the bet that he will have 150 ICE agents and a couple dozen paddy wagons waiting for them? No, I don’t like those odds either.
