Average Congress Rating At Historic Low

From Gallup:

Low Approval of Congress Not Budging, Now 19%

by Lydia Saad
August 11, 2010

PRINCETON, NJ — Congress’ job rating from the American people in August remains near the historical lows seen in recent months. Nineteen percent of Americans now approve of the overall job Congress is doing, while 75% disapprove.

Congress’ average approval rating thus far in 2010 is 20% — down from 30% in 2009, the first year of the 111th Congress. This year’s average easily trails the 36% average approval Gallup has recorded for Congress since the measure was established in 1974, and is the lowest seen in any midterm congressional election year since then

It is beginning to look like the Democrats may be looking back at 1994 with a fond nostalgia.

And yes Rasmussen has Obama at the historic high of a -22 approval index (24% strongly approve to 46% strongly disapprove) [Actual figures 43% approve and 56% disapprove]

I wonder what changes would be going on in America if Americans heard even once a day that 56% of Americans disapprove of Obama’s job and 75% disapprove of Congress job?

Such a shame we no longer have a media but rather have a propaganda machine for the DNC – and I also wonder how those figures would change – if the media even just moved to the center in their reporting?

Of course if that existed – neither Obama nor McAmnesty would have been candidates in 2008 – and just think where America would be now – probably would have already thrown ticker tape parades in NYC for the returning GWOT HEROES. And with a secure border, criminal illegal aliens deported and of course high employment and a decent working economy.

Does the Moron care if he loses Congress?

Probably not. He will be able to continue his wrecking crew with executive orders. He will be thrilled to have thrown the White Witch under the bus. And a Republican Congress will become the new whipping boy to replace an exhausted Bushhitler. The more I think about it, the more likely is seems that he is looking forward to continuing the Destruction Derby with Republicans in the electric chairs.

If it’s true, the October surprise may not happen.

If it’s false, and he does care, provision your bunkers. The October surprise will be galactic.

The decision will turn on whether his handlers believe the Republicans can postpone Obamycare, Crap and Tax and amnesty for Mexican head-choppers.

Lindsey Graham !!! That’s your phone that’s ringing.

So this could be another “hunt for red October”?

      Uh-oh

Very prescient. If there is something resembling a true Conservative Ascendency come November, the regime is going to be on defense until 2012 – if it survives. Power is going to have to be consolidated or lost. Zero hour.

I’m surprised the numbers are that high. I thought by now single digits would be the order of the day.

I’m ready with my larder stocked, fuel for the generator and enough ammo for an infantry squad if and when the October surprise comes. Worst comes to worst, the Canadian border is literally only a thousand yards away.

Lock and load people, fasten your seat belts and put your tray table and seat back in an upright position, it’s gonna get bumpy!

Hmmm, I thought I heard about a week ago congress’ approval rating was at 11%.

Yes, I thought so, too, that there was a previous low which was lower, at eleven percent. I found it, here is that story:

Congress Hits New All-Time Low– Gallup reported, via Drudge:

Gallup’s 2010 Confidence in Institutions poll finds Congress ranking dead last out of the 16 institutions rated this year. Eleven percent of Americans say they have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in Congress, down from 17% in 2009 and a percentage point lower than the previous low for Congress, recorded in 2008…

Underscoring Congress’ image problem, half of Americans now say they have “very little” or no confidence in Congress, up from 38% in 2009 — and the highest for any institution since Gallup first asked this question in 1973. Previous near-50% readings include 48% found for the presidency in 2008, and 49% for the criminal justice system in 1994.

This year’s poll also finds a 15-point drop in high confidence in the presidency, to 36% from 51% in June 2009. Over the same period, President Barack Obama’s approval rating fell by 11 points, from 58% to 47%.

Correct me if I’m wrong, it would seem that the graphs peaks were Republican controlled Congress and the valleys were Democrat controlled.

Great question. I did a little analysis on the chart. The results are interesting.

Average approval rating when Republicans / Democrats contol branches:
      President and House….54 / na
      All branches…………… 44 / 25 (right now, 20.1)
      House and Senate…….37 / 34
      President only………….34 / 37 (34 distorted by 2006 and 2007)
      President and Senate..33 / na
      no branches…………….25 / 44

Average approval when Republicans / Democrats control a branch.
      House…….42 / 31
      President…38 / 30
      Senate…….37/ 32

(Note: analysis starts with 1977, the first Carter year. Ford years would be an anomoly.)

Can anybody spot a pattern? In case you can’t spot one…..the country’s satisfaction with Congress mounts as the Republicans control more of the branches of governement…..DRAMATICALLY

Yet here will sit with the marxists’ boots on our throats, cramming their hated agenda down our throats.

      The mind boggles.

How long will we put up with it.

That’s what happens when you let people who have no skin in the game, read people who don’t pay taxes, vote in their enablers.
