I’m from just outside Baltimore, Delaware, but have since relocated to NC to be with those who aren’t like Joe Biden. Most people from the state view it as a 50/50 mix of a Philadelphia suburb or a Baltimore suburb. Most of us have learned to stay away from Baltimore, although the inner harbor is a nice area. Racial issues are usually big in the area. I remember the white girl who got assaulted by some “youths” on a bus not to long ago in Baltimore. It seems justice for her slipped through the cracks too. Its not just black politicians who get away with it Baltimore, when you arrive by plane at BWI you quickly realize the importance of the color in the area.

How can you tell if the perp is a Democrat?

1. The crime scene is political office.
2. The motivation is greed.
3. The theft involves money-laundering.
4. The alibi is “I’m helping.”
5. The defense is “I’m the target of a right-wing conspiracy” or “racism.”
6. The in-depth legal analysis is provided by a common street-dolt who always seems to side with the perp.

Everything is backwards/liberal in Baltimore. It’s nearly impossible for a good citizen to own a gun but criminals easily obtain them. We’re not allowed to put murderers to death but they put innocents to death daily.

Can she get busted for DWM (Driving While Mayor)? It seems safe to profile people for being politicians nowdays as opposed to ethnic or religious groups.

I have fond memories of Baltimore. Getting accosted by a wino in front of Barnes and Noble. Seeing armed guards at Safeway. Getting caught in the middle of a Jerry Springer style brawl in the basement of a church on Easter Sunday.

“Construction worker Michael Scott said he believes the allegations were racially motivated. Dixon is the first black woman to serve as mayor of Baltimore.

“I’m pretty sure they got it twisted up,” Scott said. “They could be saying anything just to drag her down. Prove it to me.”

Sho’ nuf! They be trying to keep that woman down!

I think it will be pretty easy to prosecute this case – the gift card can be readily traced as to where it was spent, video tape from retail establishment can substantiate it.

And why are certain cultures readily accepting of corruption – I just don’t get it.

Yes. Her father, Thomas D’Alesandro, Jr. was a congressman in Maryland and Mayor of Baltimore for 12 years. There’s a lot of interesting history there.

Thank you for posting this. I’m a Baltimore resident and too familiar with the case. Sheila the Shoe (as we call her locally) has been in trouble before. She’s given contracts to family members without a bidding process and has always been friendly to criminals and harsh on the law. Also, evidence (like money) has a way of disappearing here in Baltimore.

We finally have an indictment but that is typically as far as it goes in the Baltimore/DC area if you’re a liberal black politician. Unless the prosecutors, by some miracle, can get her to stand trial elsewhere she will not be prosecuted. A jury in Baltimore just won’t do it. Bribery is difficult to prove under normal circumstances but couple that with racially biased jurors and it’s sure bet she’ll go free.
