Biden: Fructose Deadlier Than Terrorism

A flashback to a September 13, 2007 question from HBO’s (odious) Bill Maher to Joe Biden:

Bill Maher: Senator Biden, forgetting about the upcoming Iowa caucus for just a moment, which would you honestly say is more likely to contribute to the death of your average American: a terrorist strike, or high fructose corn syrup, and [sic] air that has too much coal in it?

Joe Biden: Air that has too much coal in it, corn syrup next, then a terrorist attack. But that is not in any way to diminish the fact that a terrorist attack is real. It is not an existential threat to bringing down the country. But it does have the capacity still to kill thousands of people.

But hundreds of thousands of people die and their lives are shortened because of coal plants, coal-fired plants, and because of corn syrup.

Who can question Mr. Biden’s judgment? His knowledge of foreign affairs?

His understanding of the world?

Honestly, do we really want this man to be just a heartbeat away from the Presidency?

Cool – I can’t wait for the first “sticky bomb” attacks in which bottles of Karo are wired to sticks of explosives.

Perhaps this season’s 24 will find terrorists threatening to detonate canisters of coal plant emissions.

Yet somehow, I suspect Biden’s home, not to mention the Capital itself, are powered with energy generated from (gasp!) coal.

Let’s put all the Senators on generator-equipped exerbikes and see how long Biden (or Pelosi or…) rattle off at the mouth.

Do we want him just a hairplug away?

  3. Grassy Knoll says:

Ignore my latest McKinney post. I now believe the Katrina executions were done using corn syrup. But let’s not forget the additional dangers of fatty hamburger meat and inadequately cooked chicken and pork.

  4. Sharps Rifle says:

I never thought the ‘rats would ever be able to find someone more ridiculously stupid than Jimmuh Cahtuh to have on a national ticket…guess I was wrong.

  5. Media_man says:

Biden was also caught on tape saying he’d never approve any type of coal plant anywhere. Let China build them. And here he says coal kills more people than terrorist.

Looks like the framework for a pretty effective ad in Western & Northeast Pennsylvania, Ohio, WV.

Actually anywhere. The ad could mention coal generates half of electricity generated in the US & then show someone opening their $300 / month electric bill, complaining how much its gone up, etc.

Mr. Limbaugh just hit this clip on his program.

The Barracuda will eat this shrimp alive.

I was reading an article a while ago about how she was slow learning how to debate but she progressed at an astounding rate when she ran for Ak. Gov. and left her two opponents in the dust in the last debate.

  10. wytammic says:

Unfortunately SG, Maher is alumni at the University my daughter attends. He was there recently, and just when you think the left cannot stoop in lower, you realize you’re stupid for that thought even crossing your mind:

The left is a disgusting bunch and here’s to hoping Palin mops the floor with Mr. Hair plugs.

  11. JerseyGrrrl says:

I’ll take my chances with a bit of fructose.

  12. sheehanjihad says:

muslims issued a fatwa against fructose and anything it was contained in last year. It was issued by the cleric Caro Se Rup…..right after his fatwa against Mickey Mouse…..and tree bark….and stop signs…..and…

  13. JerseyGrrrl says:

My fructose intake is the last thing they’ll be concerned about.

  14. DEZ says:

    Fructose? Fructose?
Its evil, I tell you, worse than guns and tobacco, crack and heroin.
Its the scourge of the universe and should be banned outright along with trans fats, as well as all meats, fruits and vegetables.
And coal, all coal deposits should be banned!

But hey, a nuclear Iran is so good for you!

  15. JohnMG says:

I think Joe’s hung up on the all-natural, herbal remedy. Hemp!

  16. wirenut says:

I think his plugs were drilled to deep or a brain cable snapped . Either way, Gov. Palin will give the plug a meltdown .

  17. wardmama4 says:

I think between this on Biden and the McKinney thing – I just figured out why people vote for these moroons – it makes them feel superior. The Dems right now are just a foot in mouth bunch of Keystone Kops doing a really idiotic routine – except they are playing with our money and ruining our country.

I believe that Gov Palin will make Senator Biden regret ever having accepted Obama’s request – if we are lucky, he will either cry or wet his pants.

Perhaps even the ever unbiased Ms Ifil will make a sour face to just ice the cake.

I think just as like Bush – these fools have underestimated Gov Palin and will truly be surprized.

  18. JohnMG says:

…..”But hundreds of thousands of people die and their lives are shortened…… because of corn syrup……”

This is one of Joe Biden’s more inane utterings. Still, it is rather amusing, in a fructed up sort of way.

  19. DEZ says:

“he will either cry or wet his pants.”

Well now that makes me think of a scene from Dances with Wolves.
“I have just pissed myself, and no one can do a damn thing about it”

Not an exact qoute I’m sure, but close enough for Demorats.

  20. 1sttofight says:

Personaly I would like to see her bring her skinning knife to the debate and lay it casually on the podium as she tells Biden what it is and what she uses it for.

    Fantasy I know, But I can dream can’t I?

  21. DEZ says:

1st, are you saying she should cut off his…..
Nah, can’t be what I was thinking, she would never cut off his hair plugs!

  22. 1republicanscientist says:

aren’t maher and biden the same people? they both look dead to me, or at least they have the shittiest makeup people in the business.

  23. DEZ says:

“aren’t maher and biden the same people?”

Well kinda, Twin rectums of different mothers!

  24. 1sttofight says:

Bidens tanned and cured hide would look good in front of her fireplace or in the driveway to soak up oil stains.

  25. JohnMG says:

“aren’t maher and biden the same people?”

Well, one is a loud-mouthed, brainless, vaccuous twit, and the other is a ………

Oh. I see your point. Hey, this’d make a good trivia question, though!

  26. DEZ says:

“Bidens tanned and cured hide would look good in front of her fireplace or in the driveway to soak up oil stains.”

I see your point, But Bidens tanned hide would be a serious detriment to property value if seen by neighbors, Best it be stored with other noxious elements where it belongs, in the sewer.

  27. carress says:

Wouldn’t it be simple to do the math?
How many Americans’ deaths are related to terrorist attacks?
How many are related to high fructose corn syrup?

Assume for a moment this is accurate:
“But hundreds of thousands of people die and their lives are shortened because of coal plants, coal-fired plants, and because of corn syrup.”
Have there been more people who died from terrorist attacks?
If that assumption is way off base, what are the real numbers?

  28. wirenut says:

carress, you left out peanuts at baseball games .

  29. JohnMG says:

Sarcasm is wasted on some folks, wirenut. I remember an old-timer who recollected some of the scare-rumors going around during the Rural Electrification Administration’s drive to extend electrical power throughout the urban and rural US. He said by cooking with an electric stove, some people were worried that they would consume enough electrical residue in their corn bread alone to kill the whole family.

How were we to know it’d be the coal-dust, instead?

  30. dulcimergrl says:

For the love of Mike! I just opened the aol.com website, and saw the following at the upper right-hand corner, where they usually display things like “cheap car insurance” or “What’s your home worth?”:

    Sarah Palin’s IQ = 116

What???!!!! How do they know? And why is it relevant? I clicked on ‘refresh’ and I got this:

    Barack Obama’s IQ = 133

Don’t you feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that?

  31. dulcimergrl says:

I don’t think anyone’s figured out how many deaths are related to high fructose corn syrup (assuming, of course, that it actually IS a contributing factor, which has not yet been established). I would think it would be extremely difficult to separate that out from the millions of other things that may or may not contribute a person’s death.

  32. JohnMG says:

Some people die from living too long. Could it be because people like Biden are breathing air that somebody else could use?

  33. dulcimergrl says:

I think you may be on to something there, John.

  34. wirenut says:

Good one, JohnMG ! Wait till they find out that the “hot” wire comes from the power plant and the “neutral” wire goes back to the power plant . Ya still with me? They stopped generating power back in 1938 . Those profit bastards are selling us used power !!! Makes sense to me. They just keep recirculating it . Haw!

  35. JohnMG says:

Yeah, and I’ve been drinking re-cycled water my whole life, too!

  36. 1sttofight says:

Naw wirenut, that is Chinese power we are using, you can buy it by the pound at Walmart.

  37. wirenut says:

1st is there something in the air tonight? Yer a mite frisky , should Mrs.1st put on her roller skates? Anyway you sound as if you are feeling better ,and I hope you are . Best wishes to you and your youngest . MG’s too . Our world is a better place for their service .

  38. 1sttofight says:

Well the Bourbon might have something to do with it but yeah, i am doing a lot better. Dont have to get my dressing changed every day anymore and I have found something to do.

If you need a new computer, let me know. I am building them from scratch now and they seem to be working because my first one is what i am typing on now.

  39. wirenut says:
