Biden To Shove Iraq Down Bush’s Throat

[This is a reprise of an article S&L posted back on May 1st, 2007.]

The latest pronouncement from this Solon of the Senate, via YouTube:

As USAToday points out:

Biden on Bush & Iraq bill: ‘We’re going to shove it down his throat’

By: Mark Memmott and Jill Lawrence

“We’re going to shove it down his throat.”

So said the often very quote-worthy Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del., to a voter at Rep. Jim Clyburn’s “fish fry” Friday in South Carolina, when asked what Congress will do after President Bush vetoes the Iraq spending bill.

A C-SPAN camera caught the exchange…

The back-and-forth came just a day after Biden had this succinct exchange with NBC’s Brian Williams during the Democratic presidential debate:

Williams: “Senator Biden, words have, in the past, gotten you in trouble, words that were borrowed and words that some found hateful. “An editorial in The Los Angeles Times said, ‘In addition to his uncontrolled verbosity, Biden is a gaff machine.’ “Can you reassure voters in this country that you would have the discipline you would need on the world stage, senator?”

Biden: “Yes.”

Mr. Biden seems to spend a lot of time trying to shove his feet down his throat.

But, sure, he’d make a great [Vice] President.
