   Don’t know what planet that obama girl lived on and I hate, HATE sticking up for a clinton, but hillary did try for at least some months to create a universal health care “hillary care” bill. If i remember correctly, it died in the senate in ‘94 in something like a 99-0 vote under newt thank God!

   You are correct artpa, she did work on it for almost two years.
   However she was an idiot then trying to take on a challenge light years over her head.
   The same is true now, and she will be happy to waste her time and tax payer dollars trying the same stupid crap again.
   Still Bill is a liar, she never improved health care even a tiny bit, she could have worked on rebuilding the tower of Babel and done the country more good!

   true DEZ, though she tried, she was fortunately unsuccessful. I have no doubt that either clinton or obama would use tons of our tax dollars to completely screw up the best healthcare in the world given a congress and senate that would rubber stamp it. You want to fix our healthcare system and make it more affordable, enact tort reform.

   Hillary and her minions held close door meetings with some of the worse socialist reprabates in and out of the health industry, lawyers and even a few doctors and it all went down in flames. Thank God.

   Hilary lost me when she was asked a question regarding (I think it was - it’s been so long ago) a 65 year old man needing a heart - and she made some kind of remark like: The heart should go to a younger person - a 65 year old has already lived a full life…

   First of all the Government can’t run a damned thing correctly. they just get bigger and bigger til there won’t be anyone left to pay their salaries and retirement.. they (government) blew the Social Security dollars just as they will the influx of any Health care dollars diverted to their projects.
   They want to Fine and Force people to pay into this system. An insurance system that I can’t afford now that I would be forced to pay. Let’s see what else can I sacrafice to pay this?
   Ohhhhhh you can have medical coverage just like we’ens in Congress by gawd - sure as soon as I make 180k a year I’m sure I can find $7,500 a year to spend on it.
   We are going to force the Insurance companies to cover pre- existing conditions.
   Sure you are…and the Insurance comapany will then make my premium so high I can’t pay it in order to eliminate my pre existing threat. Then you will come along fine me for not buying into the pre exisiting Flim Flam. But it sounds good in your speechs.
   The high costs and insurance companies are the problem - and they want to turn millions more people into the insurance pyramid scheem.
   If i am paying 700 bucks for tylenol because of coverage for non payers and 11-20 million Illegals won’t we still be paying higher bucks for this UHC (universal health care) to cover their non paying costs?

   I’m on Social Security medicare - my Family doctor visits before medicare were 45 dollars. But With medicare I am charged 125 dollars at Doctor visits - of which I have to pay 100 dollars… so I pay the 45 and don’t use the medicare.

   My doctors/ surgeons for 5 surgeries were never in charge of my medical care. It took 12 years to get these 5 surgeries, the Insurance comapny denying and ignoring every test and request. Each time they lost in court they would ignore for more years. Attorneys would tell you- well that’s just the way the system is. Oh btw can you make a payment on your way out? Thanks.
   These people want to put insurance companies Totally in control when it is already a nightmare.
   I say the doctors need to be back in control of health care not insurance companies as their plans require.
   Oh we are going to offer 7,000 different plans - everyone will choose which one best suits them. Sure, then of course i will need a second or third supplemental plan to cover the primary plan that still doesn’t cover me universaly.

   Second they must somehow figure out How to get costs down so people don’t need insurance at ALL- except for perhaps a low cost castastrophic policy.

   It’s all Bull sh*t.

   We have tort reform in Texas. THANK GOD! When Pres. Bush was our Governor he pushed to get the Texas Congress to pass it. He had hoped to get that on the agenda when he went to Washington. Well….. WE ALL KNOW HOW THAT ALL WORKED OUT….. much of his agenda got squashed by interference from the “do nothing” Democrats and lack of “stepping up to the plate” Republicans. There was a lot of ACLU lawsuit abuse going on in Texas before that point in time. ( I already told ya’ll the story, in a past comment, about the frivolous lawsuit my Dad’s Produce Company had to pay out. )

   The lawyers (John Edwards for example) and their legal lottery are part of the problem (driving up costs). . .
   The insurance companies (denying until it is catastrophic or been in court) and as shown pre-existing - [aside, I'd hate to have to 'buy' insurance - my condition has been since day one - I'd work every day, just to pay for my insurance - talk about pre-existing!!!]
   The FDA which has been bought and paid for by the pharma corps and are rubber stamping crap drugs while gov is ignoring the real diseases (and probably with their tax structure, discouraging R&D) . . .
   And finally we get down to the AMA - the Docs themselves who won’t stand up for the patients. At all, it seems. The few who I’ve read who try to whistle blow (so to speak) end up being smeared and basically portrayed as nut cases.

   FIrst ‘universal’ healthcare -isn’t going to be free. We have gov insurance - pay and always have paid, now we have just added co-pays.
   Second, as pointed out - there are going to be (whether illegal or whatever) who aren’t going to pay their way - so We The People (i.e. tax payers) are going to bear the burden.
   Third, if you all think Insurace denies and ignores - just wait until the gov gets involved - ageism, thrift, ‘quality of life’, etc will all be applied to any and all extra, advanced and eventually all treatments. . .
   And it can lead to the denial of care (and possibly state euthenasia) for those deemed by the gov as not being useful, productive or worth the expense.
   And finally, it will enable the gov to force each and every one of us to have all things medical on the computer - talk about possibilities of invasion of privacy or open the door to the loss/theft of really personal information. . .
   And finally as pointed out, gov running of anything becomes bloated, ineffectual and costly.

   I think that Bill & Hill are just extremely frustrated that they are being pushed aside for the biracial interloper - how could the DNC turn on them - maybe now they will begin to understand how conservatives feel about being tossed aside by the GOP/RNC.
