Bill Clinton: ‘I Was Wrong On Healthcare’

From the Politico:

Clinton: ‘I was wrong’ on health care polls

September 19, 2010

Former President Bill Clinton said on Sunday he was wrong in his prediction that, once President Barack Obama signed the health care bill into law, the popularity of the measure would go up.

"I was wrong about that for two reasons," Clinton said on NBC’s "Meet the Press." "First of all, the benefits of the bill are spread out of three or four years. It takes a long time to implement. And secondly, there has been an enormous and highly effective attack on it." …

The hell you say.

    Darn it!
Facts and logic overcame Flim Flam for once!
That must really tweak old Bill.

  2. beefeater says:

Wrong about health care, wrong about NAFTA, Wrong about GATT, wrong about repealing Glass-Stegal, wrong about the end of the business cycle as we know it, and wrong about what the meaning of “is” is.

Other than that, heck of a job Billy.

  3. untrainable says:

the benefits of the bill are spread out of three or four years Wrong again Slick. We will be taxed for 3 or 4 years before the benefits (i disagree with that term to describe anything to do with this bill, but there it is) even START to kick in.

People don’t like the law because it’s a bad law, plain and simple. It will cost more than Obie said. It will raise the cost of healthcare, not lower it. It will diminish the quality and availability of healthcare, not raise it. It is already raising the cost of health insurance. It will eventually destroy the American healthcare system as it exists. It will destroy the health insurance industry as it exists, in favor of a single payer system which the people don’t want.

There are a lot more than 2 reasons that you were wrong Slick. I could go on for 2000+ pages. I can’t believe this guy is still showing up in the political debate. It’s like Jimma Cahta flappin his gums about how Kennedy blocked HIS healthcare. WHO CARES?

No conservative should ever use the word ‘benefit’ for any government program, period.

It is a loaded term specifically designed to con citizens into thinking they are getting something for mothing, which unfortunately appears to be the life goal of a lot of people.

There is nothing, NOTHING, that the federal government does that benefits the country, other than to maintain security forces, the military and the court system (which they have managed to pervert anyway). A handful of other areas of government involvement are arguably necessary (i.e., interstate highway, air traffic control, the airwaves).

Social Security ‘benefits’ should be called ‘disbursements’ or ‘SS pension payments’ since they are simply payments out of savings that you paid for in prior years. Same for Military pensions. Same for Medicare ‘benefits’.

None of those things are ‘benefits’. You pay for every single penney in services, many times over for most people.

You know, between 14 and 22 million Russian continent peasants did not care for State Controlled plans for their health, farms and economy. They vocally and physically resisted. The there was Mao. And North Korea. And … and …. and ….

Bubba – the State then slaughtered millions and millions of innocent people who were just minding their own business. And you wonder why we hate State Controlled “anything”????

    You’re dumber’n a sack of rocks, Bill.

    Or, in on it.

    There isn’t a third answer.

It’s important to note how Bill-Jeff frames this. His critique focuses on the attack. Not why it’s being attacked. This is because like the boy who would be bringing him coffee, his perspective is purely political. As in: What’s in it for the socialists; How can they gain?

And he’s not liking that it’s under attack and also doesn’t care that the vast majority of the nation doesn’t want it. I’m sure in his uber-lofty universe, the people “just don’t get it” possibly because we’re too stupid. I still remember the days when he sat there, numerous times and lied to everyone’s face and when that lie was uncovered, how angry he was. That is the real BJ Clinton…and most of DC’s illustrious elites.

We have come to “America’s Golden Age” where there is truly some class distinction going on and the upper-crusters don’t much care for what they see. It’s not enough anymore to have exclusive clubs and monetary ways to separate themselves from us, they need to trip us when we come out of the elevator or hamstring our lives to demonstrate their “superiority”.

But, the higher they think they are, the distance to the ground still remains remarkably short.

Course when you’re Bill Clinton, you don’t have to pay for anything anyway. So of course he muffed it.

    • jobeth says:

Absolutely right…you just take up a “fund drive” for others to donate to. Even when its to pay your lawyers to defend you when you break the law.

That always amazed me. I always worked to pay my bills…and none by the way to pay lawyers for breaking the law.

This millionaire just sets up a self serving charity for himself. After which he and the witch buys a multi million dollar house in NY…so she can establish a residency in order to run for senate…in order to run for president…in order to be blown out of the water by Obalmy at the last minute.

And darn it! It was HER turn too!

      Mind blowing.

In newspeak, telling the truth (something Billies heard of, but never experienced first hand) is an attack.

  8. pamypo says:

Clinton is the biggest dumb ass ever, he made those comments to get leaning congressment to vote for the thing. Wonder how many wish he would have kept out of it.
