Bill Richardson: Ted Cruz Is Not A Real Hispanic

From Breitbart:

Bill Richardson in a Web exclusive interview from ABCNews.com:

May 5, 2013

ABC: Former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson joined ABC News for a web interview after his appearance on the “This Week” roundtable on Sunday, answering viewer questions about his time as governor, his experience meeting with the Taliban, and his thoughts on Korean ruler Kim Jong-Un.

Given his famous expertise on kowtowing to the North Koreans.

When asked about Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, Richardson expressed his distaste for the senator.

“I’m not a fan. I know [Ted Cruz is] sort of the Republican latest flavor. He’s articulate. He seems to be charismatic, but I don’t like his politics. I think he introduces a measure of incivility in the political process. Insulting people is not the way to go. But I guess he’s a force in the Republican political system, but I’m not a fan.”

ABC News: Do you think he represents most Hispanics with his politics?

“No, no. He’s anti-immigration. Almost every Hispanic in the country wants to see immigration reform. No, I don’t think he should be defined as a Hispanic.

So just like with blacks, you are not truly Hispanic if you deviate one iota from the Democrat position on any issue.  In any case, should people be ‘defined’ by their ethnicity, anyway? Isn’t that a bad thing?"

But Richardson seems to be playing ‘I’m Hispanic-er than thou’ game. Even though nobody even knew Richardson was Hispanic until he decided to grow a beard and talk about being Hispanic to get elected in New Mexico.

He’s a politician from Texas. A conservative state. And I respect Texas’ choice. But what I don’t like is… when you try to get things done, it’s okay to be strong and state your views, your ideology. But I’ve seen him demean the office, be rude to other senators, not be part of, I think, the civility that is really needed in Washington.”

You mean this kind of civility? Calling someone ‘a traitor to his people’? But when has Ted Cruz ever been uncivil, anyway? On the other hand, we have seen any number of uncivil things said about him.

And bear in mind that these comments from Richardson are coming from a man who would probably be behind bars for his corruption, were it not for the kindness of Obama’s Department Of Justice, who decided not to seek indictments against him.

In fact, maybe Mr. Richardson should have stuck to trying to suborn perjury by offering Monica Lewinsky a job at the UN.

Are we going to see the MSM resurrect the “white hispanic” label?

which may replace the N word?
well, it never will, but it’s in second place.

Technically he’s correct, as one of my college friends never failed to remind everybody, a Hispanic is a person from the Hispania region of Spain. But still, he’s an ignorant, racist putz.

I thought the point of America was that your ideas and your character are what matter and not your parentage.

Want to pick nits about irrelevancies, Bill? Richardson is in fact, exactly 1/4 “more Hispanic” than Cruz.

Richardson’s father was an American citizen, half Anglo and half Mexican. His mother was a Mexican citizen, half Spanish and half Mexican.

Cruz’s mother was an American citizen, of Irish and Italian descent. His father was an American citizen, a Cuban immigrant, emigrating during the Cuban revolution.

Further, in answer to your college friend, SinCity, the wiki entry on Hispania seems to say that the name Hispania comes from the Roman name for that entire area of their empire — what we now call Spain. A recent Pew Report gives a different view: that all you have to do to be Hispanic is to say you are.

    Ted Cruz

    Bill Richardson

Personally, I don’t care about parentage, I’ll care about good ideas. I’ll take Cruz any day. Richardson IS a putz. And a tool.

Amen to that, Helena. It bakes my noodle to see the toxic bile coming from the left that passes as normal political rhetoric. I suppose that they are so devoid, especially governor putz, of ideas that all they have left is personal attacks and stirring up racism against individuals that refuse to tow the party line. And the media in practically all aspects are complacent, at minimum, or perpetrators, at most.

The left’s, my tribe is better than your tribe attitude just makes me sick. I marvel at how such awful people can get so far in life.
