Bin Laden Living Comfortably In Pakistan

From a relieved CNN:

NATO official: Bin Laden, deputy hiding in northwest Pakistan

Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) — Osama bin Laden and his deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri are believed to be hiding close to each other in houses in northwest Pakistan, but are not together, a senior NATO official said.

"Nobody in al Qaeda is living in a cave," said the official, who declined to be named because of the sensitivity of the intelligence matters involved.

Rather, al Qaeda’s top leadership is believed to be living in relative comfort, protected by locals and some members of the Pakistani intelligence services, the official said

The official would not discuss how the coalition has come to know any of this information, but he has access to some of the most sensitive information in the NATO alliance

How can this be? Didn’t Mr. Obama vow to get Bin Laden? Wasn’t he focuses on tracking him down even before he became focused on creating and saving jobs?

In fact, wasn’t that Mr. Obama’s solution to ending the war? He said he would go after Bin Laden when Mr. Bush had not.

Indeed, he and his minions even went so far as to say that they would not even give Bin Laden a trial, but that they would kill him on the battlefield. After having read him his Miranda Rights, of course.

What has happened to Mr. Obama’s brilliant strategy?

The NATO official, who has day-to-day senior responsibilities for the war, offered a potentially grimmer view than what has been publicly offered by others.

"Every year the insurgency can generate more and more manpower," despite military attacks, he said.

Although there has been security progress, he pointed to an internal assessment that there are 500,000 to 1 million "disaffected" men between the ages of 15 and 25 along the Afghan-Pakistan border region, he said.

Most are Afghan Pashtuns and make up some of the 95 percent of the insurgency who carry out attacks just to earn money, rather than fight for a hard-core Taliban ideology.

The official said it is now absolutely vital for the Afghan government to address the needs of this group with security, economic development and jobs in order for the war to end, and for Afghanistan to succeed.

"We are running out of time," he said.

Yes, we must give all of these wayward youths nice jobs, nice cars and nice houses – and a respectable number of wives and slaves.

The entire scenario is made more complex by the fact that "there is a huge criminal enterprise in this country," dealing in human, drug and mineral trafficking, he said. Those crimes are also tied into the insurgency

What nonsense. We all know that the insurgents are high minded and pious Muslims who just want to return to the good old days of the seventh century.

I go back to my first thought on Tuesday September 11, 2001 when the Pentagon was hit (before we even knew there was more) – Nuke ’em til they glow.

This would be a lesson to all radical terrorists who happen to be islamic & the countries who harbor them (Let us never forget – You are with us or you are with them from President Bush) – and make the point that America will prevail in the end and wipe out The One responsible for 9/11.

But of course the current administration won’t even pursue this newest lead – much less do the heavy lifting necessary to end this attack on civilization by radical terrorists who happen to be islamic. And so it will go on and on. It seems that some of Europe are waking up to the insanity – while our faux Leader is moving closer and closer to embracing it outright.

[And oh yes, how does a headline like this not make the sane amongst us wonder – How in the hell can Pakistan even be considered an ally? At. All. Ever.]

That gut reaction and 99% of what I did back in my drinking days – are why I can never run for political office. Ever. And the fact that I carry an ‘armor piercing cop killing’ gun (the Brady Bunch description of the FN 5.7 that Maj Hasan used at Ft Hood – which is the gun I carry when I’m not carrying my Glock) – hence my first gut reaction According to the gun control crowd & most liberals, I am an extremist just running around looking for someone to shoot. On the verge of mayhem and violence.

I am glad that I am not alone in my reaction to such a horrible act of war – it is so sad & dangerous the difference from our public/political response to Pearl Harbor and our response to September 11, 2001 – we can’t even call it what is is – an act of war. Sad what my beloved country is becoming.

  2. This administration is sloppy..

Could this be news we are about to have a ‘hero’ administration with a roll out capture of Bin Laden a week before the elections?

    Would it surprise anyone?
