I think our tendency to dole out aid to Africa has to do with guilt over slavery. It becomes just another resource to fight over. I think our approach in Africa and in the so-called War on Poverty here in America has helped cultivate the worst of human nature in both places. I remain unconvinced that it has to do with the particular nature of black people. Government policy and political correctness have played a role in the cultural decay of all Americans and most particularly black Americans.

I think that in small towns, particularly in the South, the culture is quite different from up north and in large urban areas. I think many Northerners would be shocked to see the mutual respect and goodwill between blacks and whites throughout much of the Southeast. And as a Christian living in a university town, I may have more in common with many churchgoing, God-fearing, family loving black members of my community than with the left-leaning, secular humanist whites.

Arm yourself, just to be safe.

I disagree, catie. I live not 50 miles from where the SEIU thugs assaulted Kenneth Gladney, a black conservative, at the Russ Carnahan “town hall” meeting. Trust me, that would not have happened if the union member, a black man, hadn’t felt empowered by Obama’s heated rhetoric. This wasn’t a mob of blacks, it was black-on-black hate. This, in a large metro area with a history of better than average race relations. While I live in a rural area that is a bedroom community to St. Louis, I can tell you personally that the blacks I interact with have been emboldened. I find myself bewildered that people with whom I’ve interacted for decades are now exhibiting attitudes to whites in general, and to me specifically, that its ‘payback’ time. When I ask what I’ve ever done to elicit such treatment, all I get in return is silence and a smirk. Not all, but a large majority are suddenly behaving this way. It seems they have harbored these feelings for our entire aquaintance.

I repeat. Be aware. Be prepared.

Just for an experiment they should take two cities with similar crime rates and racial makeups. One city outlaws all guns and the other outlaws durags, violent rap and idle assembling of 3 or more people. Wonder which one would see the crime rate drop?

But these observations certainly don’t apply to everyone – at least not in the small city where I live. That kind of race violence against whites would be unthinkable here. It’s just the thugs in the heavy Democratic urban sprawls that seem to have issues. As for the right to bear arms, well New York is a liberal gutter and they’ve banned legal conceal / carry. You can’t even purchase a pepper spray without buying it from a “special” center and registering it. So those Marines were sitting ducks for the racist scum.

Be aware, and be prepared. It’s only a matter of time.
