The simple answer is, they just elected a man to the highest office in the land, under just that standard.

I am sure many black Americans in primarily urban black areas are still wainting patiently for their CBC elected officials to start doing something for these areas.

Rangel’s district includes Harlem – where a revitalization started in the 1990’s… until they saw too many “non black faces” opening up stores, buying properties, renovations, etc. Knee jerk racism – and the revitalization is dead, except for the lucky who were able to sell remade properties to black investment groups, where alas – many have fallen back into squaller. Sort of like Obama’s own Chicago housing/urban revitalization, education, blah blah “accomplishments”

10,000 years of human history have led me to conclude a few things:
Blacks want autonomy from whites, even if it canabilizes their own
The ability to inovate, lead and flourish is not in their DNA
The majority of the world’s blacks run around in a loin cloth hoping to find water, while still dying en masse due to genocide or 500 year old diseases

Racism? Nope, just reality.

The victim mentality is both taught and expected from one generation of blacks to another. Its pathetic “whitey is always to blame” tripe will always occur, with little or no results. Ultimatley, the CBC, blacks in the world and America are hoping for the impossible. Blacks are not born leaders nor have they produced any significant results in the past 10,000 years.

They are not capable of it. 10,000 years of history tells me so.

I agree it’s wrong to expect tokenism at the Cabinet level, but the CBC does have a point in some respects. Bush had a more diverse Cabinet than Obama does so far. Obama’s white half is showing a lot in his appointments–and his advisers and transition team members, not to mention donors. The truth is that Obama doesn’t need to do anything for black voters because the black voters always vote Democrat.

I’ve been saying the same thing. What happens when it is undeniable that Obama is a huge failure? Do you think that the black community will accept this, just like they did O.J.. Or God forbid he is attacked. What happens when you start seeing bumper stickers that say “You voted for the N*#$%$?” Americans are not ready for this. Mostly because of black ideology. “Rev” Wright as been quoted many times on this site about his views on “us” and “them” mentality, but it is obvious what group of people are the supremacists. 97% of blacks vote black. Of course 90% would have voted democrat anyway, but only because the Dems promise blacks handouts. You want people to be equal, NAACP, affirmative action, Black Caucus, etc are all going to have to go away. You can’t have separate and equal. Treat everyone the same. Everybody has to work for what they get, no handouts, no entitlement.

Have you heard the Chicago Sun Times (I think) ad for their historic dvd – all this pc drivel about ‘overcoming’ and ‘achieving’ with ‘Yes, We Can’ quietly in the background until she says Yes We Did.

Combined with the above story – I think The One’s ™ election just set back race relations – oh say – 143 years.

MLK gave an excellent speech, about being judged not by the color of your skin, but by the character of your heart. It is a shame that the CBC still lives in the dark ages.

Who is more obsessed with race than African American politicians? Seriously, you can’t question anything they do without being branded with the scarlet R on your reputation. Why isn’t all that sappy 60’s sh*t about judging, hiring, and electing based on merit and not race being instilled in our young like it was in my day? Maybe because we’ve passed the equilibrium and the balance of power (at least politically) now leans toward the other side. Are we now back to might makes right?

I really believe it was possible for whites and blacks to live together peacefully. But racial differences are obvious to anyone, even to an intellectual moron. It’s too easy to exploit and, IMO, blacks are being exploited once again by the left with the intention of divide and conquer. I’d rather we just separate than accommodate them. The Black Caucus are a bunch of useful idiots.
