Blacks ‘Strong Support’ Of Obama Down 25%

From the fear mongers at the Washington Post:

Obama’s favorability numbers start to drop among African Americans

New cracks have begun to show in President Obama’s support amongst African Americans, who have been his strongest supporters. Five months ago, 83 percent of African Americans held “strongly favorable” views of Obama, but in a new Washington Post-ABC news poll that number has dropped to 58 percent. That drop is similar to slipping support for Obama among all groups.

So why single out blacks?

There is a certain amount of racial loyalty and party loyalty, but eventually that was going to have to weaken,” said Andra Gillespie, a political scientist at Emory University, who studies African Americans…

And we can’t have that racial loyalty weaken. In fact, it turns out "racial loyalty" is a good thing when it is the right race.

The slip in the strongly favorable rating continues the decline Obama has seen among all groups, but black voters have been his staunchest supporters. Overall, they still hold a generally favorable view of the president with 86 percent saying they view him at least somewhat favorably.

So what is all the hubbub? Mr. Obama will still get 86% of their vote. Melanin is thicker than water, after all.

In reality, the Washington Post is just using these headlines to try to scare Obama into pushing harder for his ‘stimulus’ so that he can hand out more government ‘spoils.’

In July, only 54 percent of blacks said they thought Obama’s policies were making the economy better compared with 77 percent the previous year.

There was more ‘walking around’ stimulus money being doled out last year.

Similarly, the White House has been sharply criticized in recent months by black political leaders, who argue that he has not done enough to help blacks. The unemployment rate for African Americans hit 16 percent this summer, the highest rate since 1984, and the members of the Congressional Black Caucus launched a jobs tour focused on the problem…

By the way, remember how Reagan was called a racist who hated black people because black unemployment was so high at the start of his term?

Obama, who will speak before the caucus’s formal dinner this week, has been pushing the passage of his jobs acts and turning a focus to his black supporters. Last week he told a group of black bloggers and advocates that his plan would create jobs in the black community and asked them to “pump up” his plan

Gillespie said the additional focus on African Americans by Obama and his reelection campaign is necessary. The sag in “strongly favorable” ratings is an important measure of intensity as the 2012 campaign approaches.

“The president cannot rest on his laurels with respect to black voter representation. Given the fact that people don’t necessarily strongly approve of President Obama, that could translate to less enthusiasm for his candidacy,” she said. “That doesn’t mean they will vote for the Republican candidate. It means they will not turn out.”

And what’s worse, they might not even riot if Obama doesn’t get his way.

Of course, there are always the unions.

The president cannot rest on his laurels……….period!! He hasn’t any laurels upon which to rest. He can’t afford to rest anyway, or those with the pitch forks will catch up to him and, well………

Can you blame him from running as fast as he can from his “accomplishments”?

I kind of predicted this would happen, but only as an estimation of the following:

The blacks who voted for Obama, whether they were conscious of it or not, did so in the hope that whitey would “finally get his”. Or, at the very least, they would finally get the big bucks they all feel they deserve because of all those crimes of humanity perpetrated so many decades ago.

In the 1960’s the argument was, “Hey, we’re people, just like anyone else and we want our rights, just like anyone else” but that somehow morphed into “black identity anger” and “black identity politics” once they realized thar’s money in them thar legislations. And thus, the angry black movement was born. Not of a desire to be treated equally under the law; To have the same opportunities as anyone else and thus, suffer the slings and arrows of the potential for failure, and thus, be responsible for their own failures, no. It was now a mission of “We’re victims, pay us. Give us what we deserve”. And, in some ways, that’s exactly what’s happened. Much of that attitude lends itself to being a drug-addicted loser on welfare. And, of course that population has been growing since *DING* the 1960’s.

The trend will not reverse in my lifetime. What took 50+ years to get here, will easily take twice as long to be set right. That is, if anyone or group of people desire to even make the attempt. But historically, these things are not self-correcting.

So, at the end of the day, although it’s great that Captain Zero is losing perhaps one of the largest contingencies that got him elected, it’s not for the same reason he never held the conservatives. No. It’s because he didn’t spend enough money to make reparations to blacks. And, quite honestly, even if they were all given a million dollars, they would still not be happy. It’s a fairly easily-made assumption. Although Cadillacs would would suddenly clog the streets of an otherwise abandoned Detroit, the payout would only satiate them for a month before they’d demand that blacks be automatically put in positions of power, heavy responsibility and so forth. And if that were to happen, as we have seen in perhaps a smaller scale, we get our Maxine Waters (US flag on Mars, etc) and so many others. This is not to pick on blacks or say they are categorically stupid.

However, they have been the biggest demographic of government largesse. Some say, “kept on the plantation” by democrats who keep wanting to pay for their votes. And the harm is deep and painful to witness. Remember the woman who was going to get some money “from Obama’s stash”? and the one whose kitchen would be replaced? Yes, they thought he came down from the mountaintop to give, give give. And he has. But not to them and that’s part of the reason why they are so pissed off at him.

It comes down to a fundamental lack of understanding about personal responsibility and character. Something the black community actually had in great quantity in the 60’s before Johnson. Nowadays, not so much. To the majority, a quick, government buck is better than one they had to work for.

If I was part of the demographic, I would be ASHAMED that the first man of my demographic to reach the White House was this doofus interloper.

Reminds me of the maid in BEING THERE. If you don’t know her comment in the movie …

During the preceding speech, Louise, the maid from the Old
    Man’s house, chatters.

    Gobbledegook! All the time he
    talked gobbledegook! An’ it’s
for sure a White man’s world in
America, hell, I raised that boy
since he was the size of a pissant
an’ I’ll say right now he never
learned to read an’ write – no sir!
Had no brains at all, was stuffed
with rice puddin’ between the ears!
Short-changed by the Lord and dumb
as a jackass an’ look at him now!
Yes, sir – all you gotta be is
white in America an’ you get whatever
you want! Just listen to that boy –

That phrase just feels wrong. Is that how she introduces herself at parties? “Hi, I’m Andra… I study black people for a living.”?
    WTF? (not winning the future)
Rusty is right about correction. It’s going to be a long time before any of this gets righted. There is an entrenched element in our society that justifies its own existance by creating and perpetuating the victim mentality. And it will continue to grow until there is no longer any money in it. As long as government bucks are available for people based entirely on race and percieved victimhood, race will continue to be big bucks for the establishment race mongers.

  5. proreason says:

So the Moron will only get 97.5% instead of 99% of their support.

Which means that his black vote will only be 107.5% of registered black voters this time.

  6. eaglewingz08 says:

Gee, there must be a lot of racists in the 46 percent of blacks who disapprove of Obama.

  7. sticks says:

This smells funny, like it’s really a lot of smoke and mirrors to ramp up effort and support for der Shlickmeisters jobs bill. A bill that will give some people some “walking around money”, especially those who squeek the loudest, but won’t create any real jobs for those who want them.
