I don’t think I ever heard Reagan, Carter, either Bush or even Clinton rail about anything a previous president has done. Sure, my friends would bring the blame game out when talking politics but up to now only this presidency seems so riddled with “they did it”.

I wonder if it’s just this administration or endemic to the generation in which we now live where blame must be quickly and repeatedly deflected away from the real cause to something that keeps its owner out of accountability. Naturally, of course, I’m talking about the learned behavior of children. “I didn’t do it…..Johnny MADE me do it” and to the ultimate end…”Johnny did it, not me”. But not just merely by lying “I did not have sexual relations with that woman…..Miss Lewinsky”, but lying AND laying the blame on someone else. Using an extrapolation of Clinton’s example, “It was HIM who had sexual relations with that woman…”

Used to be a time when people could easily and quickly recognize such maneuvers. How sad.
