Obama Bus Trip To Tap Anti-Wall St Anger

From Reuters:

On the road again, Obama pitches jobs plan

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama will seek to tap into public anger at Wall Street excess to turn up the heat on congressional Republicans as he embarks on a campaign-style bus tour on Monday to rally support for his stalled jobs package.

Like a good Alinskyite, radical Obama is adroitly implementing the Alinsky method.  Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals”: Known as the “father of modern American radicalism,” Saul D. Alinsky (1909-1972) developed strategies and tactics that take the enormous, unfocused emotional energy of grassroots groups and transform it into effective anti-government and anti-corporate activism.

Hitting the road for the next three days, Obama heads to North Carolina and Virginia, both vital to his 2012 re-election chances, with an increasingly populist approach aimed at winning passage (or the White House?) of at least parts of his $447 billion jobs plan.

Alinsky wrote: “The Revolutionary force today has two targets, moral as well as material. Its young protagonists are one moment reminiscent of the idealistic early Christians, yet they also urge violence and cry, ‘Burn the system down!‘ They have no illusions about the system, but plenty of illusions about the way to change our world. It is to this point that I have written this book.”

His visits to two pivotal Southern states come against the backdrop of protests against corporate greed and economic inequality that began weeks ago in New York and have spread to other cities, inspiring global “Day of Rage” demonstrations against the world financial system over the weekend.

Obama — whose poll numbers have fallen over his handling of the stagnant economy and high unemployment — has voiced sympathy with the grievances of the “Occupy Wall Street” movement but has done so cautiously, not least because of his own economic team’s ties to the financial industry.

“The president will continue to acknowledge the frustration that he himself shares about the need for Washington to do more to support our economic recovery and to ensure that the interest of the 99 percent of Americans is well-represented,” spokesman Josh Earnest said when asked whether Obama would offer a message for Wall Street protesters on his trip south.

Alinsky taught: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded] as universalities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and ‘frozen.’…

Which 99% is supported by radical Obama? The actual 99% of Americans or the interest of the radicals protesting in the streets, setting up a funded 503(c)  non-profit organization  in Zuccotti Park NYC with their diverse anti-capitalist, Marxist demands?

The Democratic president wants to step up the pressure  on Republicans as he tries to push through his jobs package piece by piece, starting this week after his full plan went down to defeat in Congress last week.

With election races looming, Obama’s strategy is to force Republicans to give ground or be painted as obstructionists more interested in shielding “millionaires and billionaires” — “the 1 percent” — from paying their fair share of taxes…

Alinsky emphasized: “’The organizer’s first job is to create the issues or problems,’ and ‘organizations must be based on many issues.’ The organizer ‘must first rub raw the resentments of the people of the community; fan the latent hostilities of many of the people to the point of overt expression. He must search out controversy and issues, rather than avoid them, for unless there is controversy people are not concerned enough to act. . . . An organizer must stir up dissatisfaction and discontent.’”

Bravo radical Obama. Your community organizer roots and learning at the altar of Alinsky and Williams Ayers has served you well indeed.

“Obama learned his lesson well. I am proud to see that my father’s model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008. It is a fine tribute to Saul Alinsky as we approach his 100th birthday.” –Letter from L. DAVID ALINSKY, son of Neo-Marxist Saul Alinsky.

I ‘ve often wondered why it is that Conservatives are called the “right” and Liberals are called the “left.” During my morning reading,I came upon this …

“The heart of the wise inclines to the right,
But the heart of the fool to the left.”
    Ecclesiastes 10:2 (NIV)

    Thus sayeth the Lord. Amen.

I hope while Obama’s in Virginia he trips over into West Virginia and explains to those folks how shutting down the coal industry is GOOD for them……how it will create jobs for the displaced miners.

Obama needs this OWS-thing as a distraction from what is really his biggest self-made problem, that being his miserable handling of the nation’s ability to sustain itself. Regardless of which model you believe, (Obama is inept–or Obama is deliberately destroying the country) he above all wants to be re-elected. The underside of his bus is cluttered with the corpses of those who would stand athwart his ambitious path.

But there is room for others.
