Local print medias are gushing about how no doubt the chosen one (not capitalized on purpose!) is going to take better care of California versus previous presidential administrations. If only Washington, D.C. made good on reimbursing this state for what it spends on illegals (because securing the border is something the federal government is responsible for!) we'd be in much better shape. However, I am smart enough to know that isn't happening. Sacramento is waiting for California’s piece of the bailout. In order to claim "exempt" you have to have shown that you had no tax liability the previous year (unless they changed the law from when I was able to do this after my divorce in 1985). Stop paying your state withholding taxes. Go to your HR Dept. on Tuesday AM and claim exempt on your state income tax until your expected refund amount is reached. Companies doing work for the state should also halt all subsequent state work and projects until they get paid.
