California Senate Wants Illegal Alien Poll Workers

From the Associated Press:

Senate Passes Bill On Non-Citizen Poll Workers

July 8, 2013

SACRAMENTO (AP) — The state Senate on Monday approved legislation that would allow immigrants who are not U.S. citizens to assist voters casting a ballot.

The measure from Assemblyman Rob Bonta, D-Alameda, would allow for up to five non-citizens to serve at a particular polling site. Those poll workers must be permanent U.S. residents who legally entered the country.

There are five non-citizens living in California who entered the country legally?

Those residents could provide much-needed help to voters with limited English skills, said Sen. Norma Torres, D-Pomona, who presented Bonta’s bill. There are 2.6 million eligible California voters who are not fully proficient in English, she said.

What a tribute to California’s school system.

“These individuals have the absolute right to make fully informed voting decisions on Election Day,” Torres said…

Which is why all of the voting information is sent out in English and Spanish. Which is why the ballots are printed in Spanish.

More than three dozen organizations involved in elections and immigrant advocacy have signaled their support for AB817.

The California Association of Clerks and Election Officials wrote in a March letter to lawmakers that the measure would help counties recruit bilingual poll workers and deputy registrars.

And it will also help to fund La Raza. And, of course, the Democrat Party.

The Senate passed AB817 on a party-line vote of 22-10, with Republicans in opposition. It heads back to the Assembly, which must adopt minor changes made by the Senate.

The measure cleared an initial Assembly vote in May. During that floor debate, several Republicans who opposed the bill said serving as a poll worker is a responsibility that should be reserved for citizens.

Meanwhile, as we noted last month, New York City is even considering allowing non-citizens to vote. And yet we’re supposed to believe that the 11 million amnestizos will have to wait at least 13 years to vote.

  1. My head actually exploded. This is my ‘bot typing this ….

  2. Let’s just give California to Mexico and call it a day.

    • Liberals Demise

It ain’t over until a mariachi plays the National Anthm at a NASCAR event.

    • Given that NASCAR went headlong into the Global Warming idiocy by using an ethanol and gasoline mixture for fuel, planting trees at racetracks to offset carbon and putting up fields of solar panels for electricity at many tracks, they’ve already fallen into the liberal trap. They are the largest recycler in sports and none of the drivers ever mentions politics because half of them are liberals e.g. Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson and NASCAR practically forbids mentioning it because they know where their bread is buttered.

And take into account that just in the Sprint Cup series alone there are 2 races in California, 2 races in Arizona, 3 in Florida, 2 in Texas and 7 races in North Carolina and Virginia and you’ll quickly come to the realization that it is inevidable that a Miriachi National Anthem is in the future. And it will be cheered loudly. Hell, Adam Sandler, Shaquille O’Neal and Kevin James opened last weekends race with the silliest crap you ever saw to cheers from the rednecks. (I’m a redneck so I can say that) NASCAR’s in bed with Hollywood and all the liberals at ESPN, FOX Sports and TNT. And on and on….

One thing I will give them “props” for is that NASCAR insisted that at the very begining of every broadcast of a race, no matter Spint Cup, Nationwide Series or the Camping World Truck Series, there is a prayer, usually in the name of Jesus, the National Anthem and “gentlemen, start your engines”. Every race. Every broadcast!

But, over the years I’ve noticed the slow creep of liberalism edging it’s way into the sport. It won’t be long before it goes the way of Basketball with me. Never watch basketball anymore. Football is next!

  3. yadayada

    because only non-citizens speak spanish?
I remember a time when the demons were trying to sell the immigration argument by trying to prove that immigrants come from other countries too, besides just mexico. oh how they wailed and screamed about racism and bigotry when conservatives mentioned that mexicans are the largest percentage.
as always with libs – now that they have enough momentum and votes, all pretense is stripped away
