CBS: Nobody Wants Palin For President

From the relentless propagandists at CBS News:

Poll: Most Don’t Want Sarah Palin to Run for President

January 18, 2010

A new CBS News poll finds that a large majority of Americans say they do not want former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to run for president.

Specifically, 71 percent say they do not want the former Republican vice presidential nominee to run for president, while 21 percent say they do want her to run.

When the results are split out by party, 56 percent of Republicans say they do not want her to seek the office and 30 percent do. Meanwhile, 88 percent of Democrats do not want her to run. Among independents, 65 percent do not want her to run and 25 percent do.

The poll also finds that more people view Palin negatively than positively and that her book tour did not improve overall views of her. However, she is a little better-known now than she was last fall, and both favorable and unfavorable ratings of her have increased slightly.

Now, 26 percent of people view Palin favorably, compared with 23 percent in November and July of last year. Forty-one percent now view her unfavorably, compared with 38 percent in November and 37 percent in July (both in CBS News polls). Nineteen percent of people in the current poll are undecided about Palin.

Forty-three percent of Republicans have a favorable opinion of her. Independents are divided, with 30 percent holding favorable views and 35 percent unfavorable.

Conservatives are the only ideological group that holds net positive views of her — just under half do, while a quarter are unfavorable and a quarter of conservatives are undecided.

But while favorable toward her, most conservatives say they do not want to see Palin run in 2012 – 58 percent of conservatives say she should not run.

Fake and inaccurate.

Just ask Martha Coakley.

By the way CBS, in case you haven’t heard, conservatives are the largest political bloc, in the country.

The media hasn’t had a chance to do a hit piece on her in almost a week, so let’s hear it for CBS News!

From the New York Daily News:

Don’t run Sarah: New poll says Americans don’t want Palin for President

    By Joe Tacopino

Sarah Palin for President? An overwhelming majority of Americans say “no thanks,” a new poll reveals.

The CBS News poll found 71% of Americans do not want the former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate to run for commander-in-chief.

A paltry 21% were in favor of her persuing a presidential bid.

The results differed along party lines, with Republicans far more supportive – but a consensus still emerged.

A majority of Republicans – 56% – said they do not want her to seek the office, with 30% in favor. Democrats were decisively against a Palin bid, with 88% opposing a run.

Independents, key in helping Obama in his run to the White House, are strongly against a Palin run – 65% said they don’t want her to run, with only 25% voicing support.

The poll suggests that Americans hold an increasingly negative view of the ex-governor, as 41% of those surveyed view her unfavorably, compared with 37% in a July CBS survey.

Almost a quarter of conservatives said they view her unfavorably, the survey found.

Among this demographic, considered Palin’s base, 58% said they do not want her to run, according to the poll. …

I wonder, who, precisely did CBS News poll? “Conservatives” in New England perhaps?

Sarah Palin has, obviously, energized conservatives like no figure since Reagan.

It’s not surprising that Democrats and Independents “who helped Obama run” don’t want Palin to run.

But Republicans? Perhaps the same ones that continuously re-elect Snowe and Collins?

I simply will never understand how anyone could, for example, watch her hour with Glenn Beck on Fox News last week and not realize that this woman, a true grass roots candidate if the country has ever seen one, is the future of conservatism in this country. You cannot listen to this woman talk about anything from foreign policy to economics and as a conservative not instantly want to vote for her for any position she might choose to run for, and to be driven to tears by the fact that it is Barry, not she, spending time in the White House.

Alas, I suspect we’ll end up with a “conservative” like Romney, the man who foisted universal health care on Massachusetts taxpayers, as our candidate in 2012.

So the question is, is this bad polling, or are a majority of “Republicans” and “conservatives” really that stupid?

If so, we deserve to never hold a majority again.

“I wonder, who, precisely did CBS News poll?”

If they’re anything like the NYT they double polled the dems.

  2. wirenut says:

It depends on how you define nobody. In this case nobody equals, CBS, all dems, liberal repubs and those that seek power without end. Gov Palin has a genuine appearance of honesty in office with a proven track record. Unlike the cockroach in the WH now.
Nobody, and I mean nobody watches CBS. Friends don’t let friends watch CBS.

    • Right of the People says:

      Are they still broadcasting?

The libs are running scared. Of course they don’t want Sarah to run, she scares the hell out of them. A woman with ideas of her own who speaks her mind and is a conservative to boot. She has more common sense and real American values in her pinkie than the entire Democraptic party combined.

  3. jobeth says:

You know…I absolutely love Palin. And I’ve heard the “not ready for prime time” remarks too. Yes she is new…but has more common sense in her little toe than most libs in their whole body. Not to mention “smarts”.

I’ve also been hearing talk now about Brown as President. We have to watch and see how he actually behaves.

Because Palin struck a nerve in the American people and we saw that there really ARE people out there that can serve honestly FOR the people we have to give her the credit for awakinging a whole movement. Brown may be one too or he could be a copy cat seeing a sure path to a win…but as I said…we will see. If nothing else his win showed that the American people are fed up with politics as usual…across the board..Reps and the “old” democrats.

But who runs is not nearly as important as what they believe and live. If they have the same political smarts that the Palin has…I’m for ’em.

I think we will be seeing more and more people in the next few months claiming to be what Palin IS. Those who will try to ride this wave to their own selfish political victory.

For now, we have to be sure to sort the wheat from the chaff. I fear a lot of wolves in sheep’s clothing will appear and will say anything just to further their political career. Such has been the mindset for years…Gotta’ be mindful of this and get back to the founding principles. Stay alert people.

If she has the best chance defeat the vermin, I’ll vote for her 9 year-old daughter.

    • Liberals Demise says:

If it’s a fresh new face we need, I vote for Tig!!

Really, I love Sara. She has what it takes and that’s good enough for me.
CBS saying what they did only reaffirms it.

  5. Rip Cord says:

HA HA HA they said the same thing about Scott Brown for Ted Kennedy’s seat a month ago. Anyone see a pattern?

  6. mr_bill says:

Even if every terrible lie that has been spread about her by the [threatened] left happened to be true, I would still rather have her in the Oval Office than ‘ol Red Hussein and his gang.

  7. MinnesotaRush says:

Geeeez .. so today I find out I’m a racist AND a nobody.

A guy just can’t win with these media dudes.
