CBS: Shooting Proves Rise Of Hate Groups

From the relentless propagandists at CBS News:

Shooting Highlights Growth Of Hate Groups

Suspect James Von Brunn Railed Against Blacks, Jews, Found Allies On White Supremacist Web Sites

By Bob Orr

June 10, 2009

(CBS)  Federal investigators in Washington, D.C. are scouring the troubled history of 88 year-old shooting suspect James Von Brunn – an anti-Semite with a lifelong grievance against the government who found allies on white supremacist Web sites.

On his own site, holywesternempire.org, Von Brunn promotes his Internet book "’Kill the Best Gentiles’… a new hard-hitting expose of the JEW CONSPIRACY to destroy the White gene-pool."

Chapters are titled "The Holocaust Hoax," "The Negro," and "The Aryan Force." In writing fondly about Nazis, Von Brunn claims, "Hitler, as American boobs are beginning to learn, was not all wrong."

Von Brunn, who claims to be a genius and a U.S. Navy World War II veteran, spent six years in federal prison. He was convicted for breaking in to Federal Reserve headquarters in Washington in 1981, armed with a revolver, sawed-off shotgun and hunting knife. Von Brunn said he wanted to kidnap then Fed Chairman Paul Volcker for failing to curb rising interest rates.

He later ranted, "Remember, the Federal Reserve Act (1913) gave JEWS control of America’s MONEY."

Police and federal agents today converged on Von Brunn’s apartment complex in Annapolis, Md., looking for potential evidence.

But, he’s moved around in white supremacist circles, living for a while in Hayden, Ida., the same community that was home to the founder of the Aryan Nation.

The Holocaust Museum shootings came 11 days after another hate crime, the murder of Kansas abortion doctor George Tiller. The suspect in that shooting, Scott Roeder, is described as an anti-abortion rights radical.

The violence underscores a troubling trend. In the past eight years, the number hate groups in America has exploded – up 50 percent from 602 in 2000 to 926 last year.

Sources say Von Brunn apparently acted alone and police know of no other targets. But, they’re keenly aware that the hatred he spewed is at the base of a wider on-going threat.

As we have documented time and again (see the related links below), there is simply no evidence whatsoever so suggest that there has been any rise in “hate groups.”

In fact, this is a story that has been promulgated by Mark Potok of the ultra radical Southern Poverty Law Center’s so-called Intelligence Project.

Mr. Potok has consistently cited the claims of these purported ‘hate groups’ themselves as his sole evidence for their increase in membership. But their websites show an entirely different story.

Meanwhile, notice how this CBS article does not include the shooting at the Arkansas recruiting station, which resulted in the death of a young soldier, as a ‘hate crime.’

In that case, the Black Muslim jailhouse convert Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad railed against the US military for “what they have done to Muslims in the past.”

And yet that was not cited by CBS News as evidence of a growth in ‘hate crimes.’ Nor have any terrorist attacks, foreign or domestic, been cited as evidence of a growth in ‘hate groups’ by Mr. Potok or any of his amanuenses in our watchdog media.

Why is that?

    Obama expressed outrage at this.

Obama expressed outrage at the murder of an abortionist.

The murder of active-duty recruiters by a muslim radical? No outrage.

    It is clear.

  2. curvyred

Yes outrage at what he perceives to be “right-wing” radicalism – but just “saddness” at the Islamic extremist who killed for practically the same reason: hate and bigotry.

I still don’t get the concept of a “hate crime” and I’m in law enforcement. To me, murder is the ultimate “hate crime” no matter who does whom. From what I can see, if it is a crime against a minority, a liberal or by a white male, then it is a “hate crime”, if the same crime is perpetrated by a minority/liberal against a white male, it is just a crime.

Kind of reminds me of an old Richard Pryor routine where he’s talking about a prize fight where Joe Louis was the ref and some black boxer is beating the snot out of a white boxer. He says, “Hey Joe, stop the fight, he’s killing him.” and Joe Louis replies, “Shit, he looks okay to me.”

“Shooting Proves Rise of Hate Groups”……..

“Eating Proves Rise of Hunger”…….. These news “analysts” always see the worst in everything. Hate has been around a long time – and it all does not originate from one particular class or group of individuals.

The goal is to fracture the country so the commissars waltz into total power. Defining and propaganizing “hate groups” is one of the techniques.

Everything is designed to create tiny groups that hate each other, because the more the population is Balkanized, the easier it is:

    – to keep them in constant conflict against each other, rather than against the government
    – to select groups that can be “rewarded” for compliance with the central regime
    – to hide what the central regime is doing because “the news” is about group conflict instead of the failures of the central regime

No group can be allowed to have power that rivals the commissar’s power. Understand that and you understand the attacks on religion, the attacks on the military and veterans, the attacks on business, the attacks on families, the attacks on patriotism, the attacks on free speech

If this proves a rise in hate groups, CBS must be talking about a rise in hate groups in the 1950s.

  7. David

Nothing proves the rise in hate groups more clearly than the outcome of the last presidential election.

The American leftists are the biggest haters ever. They hate everybody and everything that do not follow their beliefs. The left love it when innocent people die. THis is the truth. This murderer yesterday was a 9/11 truther – he was a nut from the get go and he certainly subscribed to hating and disdaining those appearing on the left’s hate list. The leftists hate Jewish people and it goes on and on.

While listening to Boortz, a sound bite for Alan Colmes said he would discuss the political ramifications of another gun crime and the need for more control. Of course maybe Alan should read this:

He was convicted for breaking in to Federal Reserve headquarters in Washington in 1981, armed with a revolver, sawed-off shotgun and hunting knife.

This nut job, no not Alan, Von Brunn, most certainly didn’t buy his gun legally. What would have more gun control have done? And why don’t we talk about Islam control every time there is violent Jihad perpetrated against Americans? That’s right, people aren’t responsible for their actions, guns and big business are.

Is there a “S&L” Csar in our near future?
