Chavez, Ahmadinejad Lead Time’s Man Of Year
We don’t normally take much notice of polls. And this is a particularly lame one, being the readers submissions to Time Magazine for their Man Person Of The Year nonsense accolade.
Surely it is still revealing of something. But what?
Who Should Be Person of the Year?
TIME’s Person of the Year is the person or persons who most affected the news and our lives, for good or for ill, and embodied what was important about the year. Who do you think fits the bill this year?
35% Hugo Chavez
21% Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
12% Nancy Pelosi
11% The YouTube Guys
8% George W. Bush
8% Al Gore
5% Condoleezza Rice
2% Kim Jong Il
Doing good deeds in a naughty world doesn’t get you much credit from the thoughtful readers of Time. In fact, it seems to be just the opposite. Our entertainment establishment’s "anti-hero" movement has succeeded even beyond their expectations.
And, yes I know Mr. Hitler was awarded this dubious distinction in 1938. But he received it despite his questionable acts, not because of them.
(Thanks to VoiceOfReason for the heads up.)

As I posted last evening from the “popularity” article:
Ahma-mad-jihad wants to join Hitler and Mussolini as Time mag’s “Man of the Year”. They’ll probably give it to him.
A nut with a nuke.

Who honestly cares who or what Time magazine, or its readers, pick for person of the year? I haven’t looked at that rag in years, & you couldn’t pay me to.

Hey, it turns out “WE” are Time’s Person Of The Year:
TIME.com: Person of the Year: You — Dec. 25, 2006 — Page 1

So look your best for when their photographer comes around.
(I do have to admit I’m a bit surprised, after all the grief we gave them regarding their Haditha coverage.)

well, according to the criteria of Time’s man of the year,,,who affected us the most for good or ill, hell,, I nominate the snag! She has affected millions by causing them to vomit at an image, or the shrill sound of her rasping croak….hell yeah, if Time’s man of the year is reserved for whack jobs, psychos, maniacs and mentally ill murderers….by all means, the best Man I can think of is Cindy Sheehan. Hopefully, if she wins, she can afford to bury the rest of her body with her uterus under that brush in Texas….I know I can’t afford to hurl anymore everymorning from “snag sickness syndrome”. Tater sticks for dinner douchebag?

Let’s be clear. They nominated *me*. Not *you*.

What a gutless, lame choice. Does anyone really think if the elections had turned out differently that TIME would still be so pleased with “us”?
This is what happens in a newsroom when the Democrats gain narrow majorities in both houses of Congress.
Interesting how all four runners-up (Ahmadinejad, Hu Jintao, Kim Jong-il and Nancy Pelosi) are trying to destroy America. I guess that alone is guaranteed to make you a “Person of the Year” finalist these days.
TIME is nothing more than a commie rag. Glossy toilet paper.
A waste of TIME.

That is what is so much fun, seeing Time magazine knuckle under to every group, and come up with this lame “inclusive” crap instead of naming some whack job despot ” nutsack of the year”. Hey 1st, do we get to share the trophy? Is there an “after awards show” party? Huh? Is there? Huh?

To be fair, Time Magazine has sent me several heads up on various articles. They have also emailed me when they have linked to this site — which they have done several times.

It is mine and I am not giving it up. Now if yall will excuse me, I am working on my acceptance speech.
BTW, Is there a cash award involved?
