Hugo Chavez To Export Gasoline To Iran

From an exultant (Allah Akbar!) Associated Press:

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez (L) holds talks with Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran.

Venezuela to export gasoline to Iran

By Ali Akbar Dareini, Associated Press Writer Mon Sep 7

TEHRAN, Iran – Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez sealed an agreement to export 20,000 barrels per day of gasoline to Iran, state TV reported Monday. The deal would give Tehran a cushion if the West carries out threats of fuel sanctions over Iran’s nuclear program.

The two countries signed the agreement late Sunday during a visit by Chavez, who pledged to deepen ties with Iran and stand together against what he called the imperialist powers of the world.

Western leaders have threatened to impose further sanctions against it should Iran refuse to bend to deadlines for talks aimed at curbing Tehran’s nuclear activities. One idea that has been touted, though not yet formally proposed, is to cut off exports of gas station-ready fuel to Iran.

One of Iran’s weakest points is its dependence on fuel imports. Despite its vast oil resources, it lacks the refinery capacity to meet its own demand and must buy vast quantities of commercial-ready fuel on the open market.

The Venezuelan fuel could help Iran if such sanctions are imposed.

"On the basis of a strategic decision, it was agreed to export 20,000 barrels a day of gasoline from Venezuela to Iran," state TV quoted Chavez as saying at the end of his visit. The fuel shipments will begin in October…

Chavez said Venezuela will import machinery and technology from Iran in return for its gasoline exports, the TV report said.

The broadcast also quoted Ahmadinejad as saying that the two countries agreed to set up a bank together to help finance joint projects.

And speaking of our good neighbors south of the border, there is this from Iran’s Press TV:

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva

Brazil urges powers to ‘stop punishing’ Iran

Mon, 07 Sep 2009

Brazil has urged Western powers discussing Iran’s nuclear case to re-enter talks with Tehran rather than toughening sanctions on the country.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said on Sunday that more talks had to replace harsher sanctions in dealing with Iran’s nuclear work.

"I think there are a lot of sanctions and not enough conversations with Iran," Lula said during an interview with three French media, TV5 Monde, RFI radio and Le Monde newspaper.

He urged leaders of world powers to ‘stop punishing’ Iran, which he said could backfire and make it ‘harder to reach an agreement’

Good thing we just sent Brazil $10 billion of taxpayer dollars to help them (and of course Mr. Soros) with their oil drilling.

How soon will it be before they start sending gasoline to Iran?

Don’t you know that when Iran has the bomb, Chavez will own one too?
Putting us under the gun and giving Iran a platform here to threaten us with nuclear burn.

Time to place a embargo but Hugos’ new buddy barry will see to it that nothing is done. Same as here……..nothing getting done except the robbery of Americas’ coffers!!

Anti-Chavez sentiment is growing in Venezuela. Maybe the Citizens will uprise against this tyranny and oust this Dictator. The Venezuealans are starting to hold “Tea Parties”: http://tinyurl.com/lb5tdo :-)

Speaking of Tea Parties, here is my favorite protest sign from the Austin Tea Party (at the State Capitol) on 9/5: http://twitpic.com/gnj4s

And they say the Moron doesn’t know what he’s doing.

He gives oil exploration money to Chavez. Chavez ships refined gasoline to Iran. Iran threatens Israel with annialation. Obamy’s Jew-hating foreign service advisors slap hands.

As long as some party is getting royally shafted in a deal, Obamy is a genius.

(For ObamyScare, the shafted party will be white senior citizens, who have been racists all their lives, even if they sometimes don’t act like it. Whay would Rev Wright hate them so, if it wasn’t true. Whitey Grannies will deserve what they will get, of course, while the bros in Da Hood get the health care they deserve.)

Hugo and Fidel are salt of the earth. Just ask anyone in the Black Caucus or Hispanic Caucus or Progressive Caucus they’ll tell you. If they get nukes out of this deal they deserve them so they can protect themselves against the evil imperialist war mongers to the north. All they want is fairness and equality for all people.

    (whistling sound, getting louder, louder)

(enormous multiple explosions, like Armageddon all at once, utterly devastating fire storms)

That would be the first target hit in Iran as Israeli fighter bombers scream across the skies headed for Bushehr. The national refinery system has nine refineries, according to Oil & Gas Journal but only one making gasoline. Delivering a little shock and awe right there would put Iranians back on donkeys. The balance of refineries produce diesel (war material related) and can just as easily be set back considerably by sabotage and air strikes. Ask the Syrians how easy it was for us to shut down their air defense grid. The Iranians have the same one. Which ought to make for a ten on the Pucker Meter.

Reminds me of a tale of a cobbler and shoeless children.

  6. Liberals Make Great Speedbumps says:

Blockade Iranian ports and give our fast attacks some target practice. Venezuelan fuel tankers should provide a fairly spectacular kill confirmation when an ADCAP or Harpoon finds one. As GBJ stated, Israel can take care of the refineries.
