Chavez Radicalizes After Midterm Losses

From an elated Reuters:

Chavez vows to radicalize after Venezuela election

By Daniel Trotta Sun Oct 3, 2010

CARACAS (Reuters) – Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez vowed to "radicalize" his socialist revolution even further after legislative elections that gave the opposition one of its strongest showings during his more than 11 years in power.

Gee, do you think he might inspire Mr. Obama to do the same a month from now?

He started on Sunday by announcing the expropriation of land owned by the Venezuelan agricultural company Agroislena and vowing to hasten the nationalization of land held by the British meat products company Vestey Foods Group.

Chavez’s ruling Socialist Party won last weekend’s vote by a slim margin, taking 5.45 million votes or 48.9 percent compared with 5.33 million votes or 47.9 percent for the newly united Democratic Unity umbrella group.

The result lifted the optimism of the opposition, which now sees a chance to unseat Chavez in 2012 presidential elections.

More parallels.

Investors and analysts are waiting to see the reaction of a man who has in the past come out of elections by nationalizing swathes of industry, including millions of acres of agricultural land, and attacking private capital.

And still more.

"We are going to continue forward, democratically radicalizing the socialist revolution because it is necessary," Chavez said late on Saturday to a television audience.

He dismissed the opposition celebration of a moral victory as "15 minutes of drunkenness." …

Which is a lot like calling it a "temper tantrum," as our media masters are wont to do whenever there is a conservative victory.

Chavez rejected the idea of seeking to mend relations with private enterprise, announcing the nationalization of 250,000 hectares (618,000 acres) this month and saying, "There will be no deal with the bourgeoisie."

It really is instructive to watch Mr. Obama’s mindset on display with the bark off.

In fact, the only real difference between the two men is that Mr. Chavez wears his red shirt openly.

I sense a temper tantrum coming.

Could Obamy and Hugo be lovers?

“Hey, Obama has just nationalized nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going to end up to his right,” http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE5520GX20090603

Lovers? In a manner of speaking. They’re in love with themselves, thus they certainly admire that central quality in eachother. Hugo the Hamster King has gone on to basically claim Obama’s an ignoramus with women parts, but that’s because he doesn’t think the Bamster has it in him to do exactly as Hugo is doing here. He probably never cared much for or about Obama – America and capitalism are always the enemy; it probably just surprised him at first that Americans had actually voted a committed Marxist to power.

It’s amazing. Hard to watch when it’s staring you right in the face and yet so few see it. I’m sure you agree.

Hugo is infinitely more qualified as a political leader than the Moron.

He was a military officer for 17 years. He is clearly heterosexual, and was raised a Catholic (he claims he expected to become a priest).

Viewed from the context of their respective countries, Chavez is more mainstream, moderate and rational than Obamy.

It isn’t likely that Chavez, given the chance, would have attempted to radically changed the most successful nation in world history. Only an absolutely narcissistic lunatic would attempt that. Chavez doesn’t reach that level of mental illness.
