Chavez: US Test Caused Haitian Quake

From Russia Today:

Chavez: US weapon test caused Haiti earthquake

Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez has once again accused the United States of playing God. But this time it’s Haiti’s disastrous earthquake that he thinks the U.S. was behind.

Spanish newspaper ABC quotes Chavez as saying that the U.S. navy launched a weapon capable of inducing a powerful earthquake off the shore of Haiti. He adds that this time it was only a drill and the final target is… destroying and taking over Iran.

Earthquakes, hurricanes — is there nothing the US can’t do?

I think Chavez has syphilis and it’s affecting his brain.

U.S. Defence Secretary Cohen expresses concern about terrorists using scalar electromagnetic weapons….

“Others [terrorists] are engaging even in an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves… So there are plenty of ingenious minds out there that are at work finding ways in which they can wreak terror upon other nations…It’s real, and that’s the reason why we have to intensify our [counterterrorism] efforts.”

      Your ellipses are rather misleading.

Mr. Cohen was not saying that terrorists could set off earthquakes. But that are reports that they may be researching how to do that.

Also, please remember to include a link in the future.

I view Chavez as a window into Obamy’s mind.

  5. Rusty Shackleford says:

I say the US should very loudly and publicly threaten El Guappo with the “earthquake weapon” until he submits and relinquishes power to his own people. Then, we will likely hear a different story. (See: Star Trek, TOS, “The Corbomite Maneuver”)

Hey wait – I thought it was global warming. I’m confused.

  7. Rip Cord says:

Oh, if it was only true. We need to test more in Venezuela and Iran and Russia and North Korea.

Cynthia McKinney & Chavez. Two peas in a pod.

  9. jobeth says:

Bush was behind the whole thing.

    • MinnesotaRush says:

      Good one, jobeth.

Remember the accusations about George Bush havin’ a “weather machine”?

It .. he .. could make hurricanes and everything, George could.

Some places around the Country are out of tin foil with all the hats being made. (o-blah-blah voters?)

  10. Liberals Demise says:

    “….is there nothing the U.S. can’t do?”

We can’t silence the hole under his nose!!

  11. kk says:

    Can you people read?

What did US Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen say above?

He directly said that the technology IS REAL.

What part of REAL do you not understand?

Read the context of Mr. Cohen’s remarks:

COHEN ADDRESS 4/28 AT CONFERENCE ON TERRORISM Terrorism, Weapons of Mass Destruction, and U.S. Strategy Sam Nunn Policy Forum April 28, 1997 University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia.

Q: Let me ask you specifically about last week’s scare here in Washington, and what we might have learned from how prepared we are to deal with that (inaudible), at B’nai Brith.

A: Well, it points out the nature of the threat. It turned out to be a false threat under the circumstances. But as we’ve learned in the intelligence community, we had something called — and we have James Woolsey here to perhaps even address this question about phantom moles.

The mere fear that there is a mole within an agency can set off a chain reaction and a hunt for that particular mole which can paralyze the agency for weeks and months and years even, in a search.

The same thing is true about just the false scare of a threat of using some kind of a chemical weapon or a biological one. There are some reports, for example, that some countries have been trying to construct something like an Ebola Virus, and that would be a very dangerous phenomenon, to say the least.

Alvin Toeffler has written about this in terms of some scientists in their laboratories trying to devise certain types of pathogens that would be ethnic-specific so that they could just eliminate certain ethnic groups and races; and others are designing some sort of engineering, some sort of insects that can destroy specific crops.

Others are engaging even in an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves.

So there are plenty of ingenious minds out there that are at work finding ways in which they can wreak terror upon other nations. It’s real, and that’s the reason why we have to intensify our efforts, and that’s why this is so important.

What part of READING don’t you understand, kk.

When I’m READING, particularly for the purpose of attacking other people, I read ALL the words, not just the ones that make my case.

      Try it.

But perhaps it’s a comprehension issue for you. So let me help Steve, since he may be assuming that you can comprehend what you READ.

You see, Mr Cohen cited several threats that people with ingenious minds are working on: pathogens, insects, earthquakes and volcanoes.

Then he says “So there are plenty of ingenious minds out there that are at work finding ways in which they can wreak terror upon other nations. It’s real”

Now, if you only read the words “earthquake” and “It’s real”, you might conclude that the threat of ingenious minds setting off earthquakes is real.

But if you use the reading skills you learned in the 3rd grade, you could see that what is real is the “ingenious minds ….at work finding ways in which they can wreak terror”.

Hope that helps and thanks for teaching us about yourself..

Then Obama released this weapons on the Haitians? For once the Idiot in the White House did something GOOD? Think about what you are saying kk. ROFLMAO

  12. canary says:

Chavez saw an opportunity to brainwash a voo doo country.

Obama tells of practicing voo doo in Indonesia; his step-father practiced it, and people around him. He notes he kept this secret from his mother & grandparents.
Then on his first trip to Kenya, everyone believed in the “night runners”,
and he was open to it. Obama describes his win against Alan Keyes (Republican) in Chicago —
Obama: “Still, there was no point in denying my almost spooky good fortune”.

Obama is spooky, and America’s bad fortune. The present attack on the skilled Blackwater war hero’s is scary. Obama’s refusal to call Ft. Hood & Christmas Eve plane bomber terrorists is real & scary.
