A Chicago man who was already accused of plotting to murder a Danish newspaper cartoonist has now been charged in connection with last year’s deadly attacks in Mumbai, India, that took the lives of 170 people.

David Coleman Headley, 49, was cited in charges unsealed this morning in Chicago with conspiracy in connection with the Mumbai attacks.

Headley, a Pakistani national whose birth name was Daood Gilani, is accused of scoping out locations for the attacks in India. He’d been traveling throughout India last year, conducting surveillance in anticipation of the coordinated bombings that also left hundreds injured, federal authorities said.

Headley, a U.S. citizen who lives on Chicago’s North Side, was charged with six counts of conspiracy to bomb public places in India, to murder and maim persons in India and Denmark, to provide material support to foreign terrorist plots and to provide material support to Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistani-based militant group.

New charges also were unsealed today against a retired major in the Pakistani military, Abdur Rehman, accusing him of conspiracy in planning an attack on a Danish newspaper and some of its employees.

Headley and another Chicago man, Tahawwur Hussain Rana, were initially arrested in the Denmark case, charged with plotting an attack on the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten out of revenge for a dozen cartoons printed in 2005 depicting the prophet Muhammad.

Rana has denied involvement in a terror plot.

Authorities said Headley has been cooperating with investigators since FBI agents arrested him at O’Hare in October.

A somewhat misleading headline.

But it is even more troubling that we allowed someone like this in our country.

Ironic isn’t it that he gravitated to Chicago just like another visitor from the sub-continent. I wonder if they used to hang out?

I remember when Americans didn’t have to deal with the problem of homegrown terrorism from Islamic supremacists. Same with Britain, Italy, Spain, you name it.

Government, by mandating the multicultural and ignoring Islam’s political branch, has created a problem that did not have to exist in the first place.

I wonder what country I will bequeath to my children.

  3. proreason says:

Hey, why don’t we give them offices and executive assistants.

Well, thanks to a couple we welcomed and educated in our country, there will be many more, and Barry Barack said soon whites would be a minority, and he made that statement “before” he became president and announced no borders and amnesty to millions.

I wonder if he knows Bill Ayers?
